I reached out to him but found out he was no longer there, and he referred me to another realtor within the company named Claire. I reached out to Claire, set up an appointment to go over what I was looking for apartment wise, and the adventure began. Upon arriving at the meeting, we sat down and started discussing my wants, financials, etc. She listened to everything I wanted - a fair amount of square footage for affordable rent, hardwood floors, an in unit washer and dryer, newer construction, someplace with a good rating, quiet neighbors, lots of storage space, a pool, and someplace to walk my dog. A few days later, I returned to her office, and she went over the properties she had found. Claire mapped out a few apartment communities based on my criteria, and later that day, we drove out to one on the list. The first apartment, and actually the only one we looked at, was the Amli Covered Bridge off West Highway 71 right past the Y at Oakhill. Although a bit farther out than I had initially wanted, almost as soon as I stepped out of the car, I felt like I was home. Claire and I met with an apartment leasing agent, and we toured a couple of apartment floorplans. We returned to the leasing office to review the available units. I had my heart set on a third story place, but there was a first story apartment with a yard available, and I pounced on it. Marc showed us homes from Austin to as far out as Liberty Hill which is at least 50 miles round trip every time and with gas prices the way they are he didn't hesitate one bit. That is certainly going the extra mile for a prospective client. After looking at many homes Marc came through for us. We found that rare diamond in the rough and we mean GEM; 2.7 acre treed lot with a custom built 3900 sq foot one level 3 car garage home constructed in 2004. The driveway was newly poured last year and is actually 450 feet long. Can you say AWESOME! Marc successfully negotiated the price for us; coming in under $412K. You can't find a home like this in Georgetown for under $570K. On top of the great staff like Marc, Fine Austin Living has great connections such as inspectors and loan financing. As a retired military using VA, Marc hooked us up with a mortgage broker that new her stuff about VA loans. She literally was able to lock us in at 3.75% with no closing costs. We've dealt with brokers and mortgage lenders in the past that didn't know much about VA financing but Marc and Fine Austin Living certainly had top notch connections that came through for us at all levels. Marc was always available and very responsive to all of our questions from earnest money to appraisals and surveys. Now every morning we wake up and sit on our huge back deck or front deck and watch deer and wild turkey cross our lot. Talk about serenity that is within minutes of civilization which is all thanks to Fine Austin Living, Marc and all their supporting elements. Marc and Fine Austin Living is my realtor choice in the future but that won't be necessary after they found us our dream home.
