Workout room. No shoes. You will need grip socks only.

Ladies, barre is the best! Muscles you've forgotten are awakened here! The instructors- all of them- are amazing! Affirming, involved, helpful, and encouraging! AND the LIGHTING! Okay, side note- I am a big believer in color therapy and the importance of great lighting. Virgin Airlines (Atlantic) did this years ago- lighting can invigorate you and calm you down. Barre starts with bright light, and works down to soft pinks and purples as you do your final stretches and cool down. I love this place! You will too!

Let's start with I really enjoy working out in general and doing something different was right up my alley. I honestly get really bored going to my regular routine gym but I know what I need to do! One of my besties invited me to Pure Barre and I had a wonderful experience. I felt as though someone had turned on the heater and it is amazing how our bodies transition as we age. Thank you Pure Barre for clarifying that I definitely need to continue to work out and try other resources and strengthening my core. One of the favorites from the workout was at the end I have the ability to already do the splits! It's been some years for that motion ! The staff was very amazing and the teacher was really fun when we introduced ourselves to each other and she remembered our names. That was the part that made me feel very special and welcomed.

If you want a good workout that really focuses on your glutes and thighs, try a Pure Barre class! Despite what Google Maps shows, this studio is located across from Forever 21 and next to Spa Reveil. Everyone at the front desk is always friendly and greets you by name. All the instructors that I've taken a class with have been energetic and welcoming and address you by name during class. There is a small retail section in the shop where you can pick up some sticky socks and another apparel. There's a small area for you to take off your shoes and stash your stuff in cubbies. The props are outside of the room, so you'll grab those and then go find a spot at the barre. Then get ready for a fun, 50 min, quick paced workout. Don't worry if you don't know some of the moves as the instructors will come by and ensure you are targeting the right muscles. I'd recommend arriving a little early to find parking. If you come on a busy day, you'll have to drive around and look for a spot .

About a month ago I noticed a sign announcing "Pure Barre opening soon!" a couple doors down from a yoga studio I frequent. I tend to get bored with my workout routines and welcome change, I decided to give Pure Barre a try. I signed up for their intro special (discount for the first 30 days) and today I just finished my 10th class. Let me tell you the 10th class was much different than my 1st. The first few classes I wasn't buying it. How can you get a good work out with a tiny playground ball, 2 pound weights, a bar and some funny socks (they wear socks with grips)? After a few classes in I found I hadn't been doing it right, and since then have felt the BURN. "Tuck", "lift", " flex and hold", "circle", "now higher" are among the words and/or phrases you will hear repeated umpteen million times in a Pure Barre class. The movements are small and isolated, focusing on those small muscle groups, some I am not sure I knew about until taking this class (they scream at me a for a good 24 hrs later). All the instructors are great but Rita really stands out as she is very motivating and I definitely work harder in her class. I don't think I will achieve the goals I want to obtain on barre alone but I think it is complimentary and a break to my regular work out. The one thing I am not a fan of is the cost. The prices are pretty steep, however, they do offer 2 different introductory offers and often run discounts through group buying sites.

When I was considering going to a barre class, my friend told me I would have sore muscles that I didn't even know existed. I work out pretty regularly and didn't think it could be that difficult, Uh, false. Pure Barre is ridiculously hard, even for those who workout all the time. I've been going here for about 5 months now and have always have a very positive experience. The location is great and in a popular area of North Austin. Parking is also easy and if it can't be found in front of the studio, it's also available in the HEB lot next door. The staff explained the equipment to me my first time and the different is between pulse, tuck, lift, etc. If you watch videos online, it'll give you a good idea of what to expect but it definitely doesn't look very hard. IT IS! Don't be fooled. Even though barre is focused on small movements, they're very difficult and truly do work muscles you never know existed. In barre, you use 2 sets of weights, 2 tubes, a ball and the barre. It focuses on every part of your body, but my least favorite and the most intense is the ab work out. I've never felt my abs literally shake before and they shook the ENTIRE TIME. Every instructor I've had is great. All of the classes I've been to are usually at capacity, but I've always been able to get assistance from the instructor if I have the wrong form. That's really hard to do in any class, but especially difficult when it's full. They have a great energy level and get the class motivated. I've gotten better at barre after going so many times, but it has never gotten any easier. It's a great workout to strengthen your muscles and I've seen a big difference in my arms. I've tried other barre studios in Austin and none compare to the intensity level of Pure Barre. Definitely worth the $20 per class!

Pure Barre Arboretum is my home away from home. Since January it has helped me to realize just how strong and empowered I truly can feel!

Pure Barre Arboretum is a special place. It has the community feel that I yearned for and the positivity inside is truly infectious. If you are looking for a new studio, this just might be the place of empowerment that you are looking for! The instructors are not only top notch, but so down to earth at the same time. I cannot imagine doing barre anywhere else.

I happened to be taking a class with Rashanna, the owner, and mentioned I hadn't known about the discount.

I appreciated a couple of the modifications they offered since my lower back wasn't feeling 100%. The one thing I didn't like about this particular location is how many machines they jammed into the studio. I felt like the machines next to me were extremely close and you could barely walk in between each of them. I would have liked more room. If I were traveling again and [solidcore] was the only option for the type of Pilates I normally do back in Florida, then I would go again. However, if I had other options I would probably give them a try over [solidcore] in the future.

Solid class at solidcore!…read more First impressions: It's downtown so parking is difficult. Be sure to plan accordingly. They do reimburse parking at two garages (depending on the time of day). Keep in mind that one of the garages is quite a walk. The front desk staff was friendly and the instructor introduced herself to me before class started. I appreciated that! Class: The class was good...it challenged me and went by quickly. I was more toward the back so it was difficult to follow some of the instructors movements. Cueing was good but not great and hands on adjustments were limited. Overall, I had a nice time. I'd have to give it a few more tries before deciding whether or not to become a regular.
