The workout itself was pretty weight intensive with lots of squats and repetitions. Most of this was strength training and not so much cardio. The instructor was very nice and helpful. And April - she's super nice, so of course we come back, but she has in uncanny ability to know the weight and reps that will yield jello legs/arms. we move so quickly from one thing to the next there's not the opportunity to get bored or pause for a moment to worry about how sore you'll be the next day...but in a good /pain is weakness leaving my body kind of way... Highly recommend this cute neighborhood gym and it's staff. Hope we are lucky enough to have Mo and his crew in NW Hills for the long haul!!

Be Careful: Billing and Contract Issues…read more I have been a strong supporter of OrangeTheory, but after my recent conversation with Anthony, Regional Manager, with the Round Rock location, my wife and I have decided not to renew our memberships. I initially signed up under a promotion described as "pay for one month and get two months free." However, I later discovered that I had been enrolled in a 12-month contract. When I requested cancellation, I was informed that the previous manager, Jay, did some shady stuff and had offered deals that he was not authorized to sell. Upon learning this, I immediately submitted written notice to cancel -- more than 30 days before the end of the three-month period. Despite this, I was charged for an additional month. I was also billed on March 1, even though the studio manager, Britany, had confirmed in writing that billing would not occur until March 15. In fact, based on the timeline, the next legitimate billing date should have been April 1. However, since I canceled my membership more than 30 days in advance, I should not have been billed at all. Additionally, I was told by the regional manager that if I hold a membership at the Round Rock studio, I cannot attend the Pflugerville studio. This was surprising and unclear, as I was clearly communicated at the time of signup that I can do so. In fact, their app does allow me schedule sessions in Pflugerville. Can someone confirm, if the regional manager is saying the truth? Overall, this experience reflects poor communication and inconsistent billing practices. As a business owner and someone who has worked with Fortune 100 companies, I believe this situation could have been handled far more transparently and professionally. I would encourage prospective members to carefully review all terms before signing up, and not trust them on the face value. So, I decided to try Title Boxing Gym on Research Blvd. I signed up for a 60-minute boxing class with 15 minutes of core work. The energy was high, the coach motivating, and the workout not for the faint at heart. The class started with a warmup and gradually transformed into a fast paced, intense cardio and strength class. The class included boxing fundamentals with strength conditioning that really pushed you to the limit. No prior boxing experience was needed, although one of the managers stepped me through the basics. In the boxing class, the coach called out 1 2 3 4 5 6, which referred to the standard punch number system coaches use to call out combinations quickly. The standard meanings are 1 = Jab (lead hand, straight), 2 = Cross (rear hand, straight), 3 = Lead hook, 4 = Rear hook, 5 = Lead uppercut and 6 = Rear uppercut. To be honest, she was calling out the number so fast at first, it was hard to keep up. At my prior class, they would say jab, cross, upper, and hook. She was kind to come over and ask if I needed help. When I told her I was not used to hearing just the numbers, she added the description. After a short while, I was able to catch on. We performed combinations and ran around the room or did burpees (hate burpees) between sets. Title gym is clean, organized, and set up to handle a room of boxing rigs. The music, lighting, and overall vibe helped keep motivation high. Our coach was super motivating yet challenging. The front desk manager was kind to show me around Title gym. OMG...this was one of the most intense workouts. After taking the boxing class, I was literally soaking wet. My guess is that I will fall fast asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

I came here yesterday. I am a old guy, broken down from a great life of being a musician,…read moremotorcycle wrecks, race car wrecks, skiing disasters, playing Army for many years and basically burned the candle at five ends. Add the tum tum, and you would think this is the last place I would end up. The different orthopedic doctors and Physical Therapists all basically said go to something like this and see what makes you hurt :-( . I called and talked to the business and it turns out that they have many different types of classes, including rehab and recovery. They would make adjustments for me if needed. The business was spotless and organized to a T. Then came the class. The instructor, Jennifer, was quite charming as was the staff. The attendees were all ages, shapes, sizes, and I was not the only man there. Jennifer said she could adjust the instruction if needed due to all my damage and I said no way, go full blast and if I had problems I would adjust myself. So, full of confidence, I started immediately with the class which was a "grace", or something like that, for newbies. Jennifer was enthusiastic, and kept the tempo going. I had some problems at first following the instructions as I was new to this, but with the mirrors and her assistants, I started getting the idea. Yeah! I heard "shake it off and rest" but I could never see where "rest" was in the picture. I realized that if I totally stopped I would never be able to start up again, so I did the best I could. Then I learned to hate the words "bar and barre". When you are told to grab or lean on the bar, you are really going to get it. All in all, it was wonderful. Jennifer or one of her assistants would come and help with advice, and there was only 2 moves I could not do. When we were finally finished, my muscles were shaking so bad from lack of use in the past few years, I asked my wife to drive home, much to her glee. Fast forward 1 day and I am worn out and sore, but in a good way. I am definitely more flexible, I don't have pain where I used to have pain, so this event probably saved me a lot of money to doctors and therapists as I know now where to target and to what extent I can handle and still live.

It was all women in the class, and I can't be sure but i get the feeling it's like 90%+ female most of the time. There's also a spin studio in the space. For barre devotees, I think it's a solid choice and very conveniently located. Also there's ample parking out front and in the parking garage just underneath. All in all, it was a good midday workout.
