My third class at Pure Barre (Geist Pavilions-Fishers) counting the "Foundations" class to learn the lingo and basic moves. I just love this place and already I'm getting a little better at the moves or I need one less modification. Pure Barre is a low-impact, full-body workout. Besides walking, I haven't worked out consistently in over a decade. My goals are improving balance, increasing flexibility and finding my muscles again. After researching, talking with others and watching YouTube videos--it came down to PB or a more senior-oriented workout. What tipped the scale for Pure Barre is the owner, Jacki. She really wants people there that "want" to be there. Jacki and the other 2 instructors I've experienced are attentive and encouraging while insuring your best form with the moves. The studio is also kept clean (very important to me). The other ladies in class are welcoming while we are all focused on getting the most out of class. I feel comfortable in the small group environment doing my best. I'm not going to lie, it's a tough workout for a 66 y.o. couch-potato, but I want to challenge myself. The wall has "Lift, Tone, Burn" and you'll do all that in 50 minutes and feel SO accomplished. There are several types of classes. I'm participating in "Classic." read more

I attended a free Pilates session this studio hosted at our local farmers market, and after the class I was selected as the winner of a one-month unlimited class giveaway. I was genuinely excited and appreciative of the opportunity, but unfortunately my experience afterward left me disappointed. From the beginning, I found the explanation of the studio's services and policies to be unclear. Following my first in-studio class, the communication over the last few hours was not pleasant and made me feel more uncomfortable than welcomed as a guest. One of my biggest concerns was learning only after the giveaway had already been awarded that a payment method was expected to be kept on file "just in case." In my opinion, giveaways should be transparent from the start. seemed as if this is their was of making the money back from if the free guest misses a session and their not in a hole. which in my opinion defeats the purpose of the giveaway. When I expressed my concerns, I was advised to speak with the studio owner, Toby, for clarification. I made several separate attempts to reach out but never received a response or a phone call as told. Being referred to the owner and then receiving no communication made the experience even more bothersome and left me feeling as though my concerns were not valued. While the one class i did attend was enjoyable, the overall customer experience, communication, and lack of follow-through did not leave a positive impression. Because of that, I chose not to continue using the complimentary month. Part 2 to reply to the owners comment to my first post: I contacted the studio directly multiple times over several months before leaving this review, so their polished public response is disappointing to read. If the empathy expressed here were genuine, my cancellation would have been handled months ago, the repeated billing attempts would have stopped, and I would not still be receiving ongoing payment texts and emails for a membership I do not owe. What has not been addressed publicly is the actual issue: my cancellation request was repeatedly denied despite medical documentation, an unauthorized freeze was placed on my account, billing attempts continued afterward, and my direct communication was repeatedly ignored. This response feels focused on public image rather than accountability or resolution. A polished response means very little when the private handling of the situation tells a different story. For anyone considering a year-long membership, I strongly encourage you to fully understand the cancellation terms before signing and be aware of how difficult it may be to cancel if circumstances change. read more

Empower and Define are my favourite class formats as they really push me but the Classic Barre class is always great! I've been a member of Pure Barre Fishers since 2016 and have loved every single minute of it. Until, the new owners took over. In less than a year they have ran off every instructor and all of the long term clients. The new owners, Jacki and Toby, only care about making money. Jacki has been known to body shame other women for having more than an inch of fat to pinch. One client was thrilled when she lost 65lbs and instead of celebrating her, Jacki told her she had so much more to lose. The studio and equipment are so dirty. The carpets haven't been cleaned in over 2 years. They smell so bad! The cancellation rate has skyrocketed since they took over but they are too arrogant to think it has anything to do with them. Everyone I know has moved to the Noblesville studio. Me included. Jacki blocked me from the Pure Barre Instagram page as soon as I took my last class. Very professional and mature of her. But, that's Jacki. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this studio! If you want the real Pure Barre experience, you will not get it here! It's toxic and ran by immature narcissists. read more

Update to my first review! I would give this studio 10 stars if it was available. During this time of quarantine they have gone over and above to help their members stay healthy. They are posted workouts live steaming multiple times a day. They also started posting fun activities, last night it was beautiful hand lettering with one of the instructors. They are making it fun, accountable and social (because we can see them and also the others who are streaming class) at a distance. Thank You Teresa and the PB team! First class for new clients is free! Come and try it! This is my all time favorite workout studio. I've exercised all my adult life, at gyms, at studios, at sports clubs and this is my favorite place. I'm addicted to the workout, the results and the friendly studio. There are three class types; Barre, Empower and Reform. Empower is a cardio centric version of Barre with optional arm/leg weights for an additional challenge. Barre is a traditional ballet based, isometric , small movement workout. And Reform is a mix of the two using sliders and resistance bands to increase the challenge. Because there are three types of classes your workout never gets boring and your body is always muscle confused. The studio in Fishers has two restrooms, retail section with a changing room and some great retail products too! They carry an assortment of workout clothes that is very high quality along with super cute sweatshirts, tunics and a few accessories. They offer first class for new clients and a discount on your first month packages so you can try it without a huge commitment. Absolutely love Pure Barre Fishers! I was nervous to try it and the first class was so hard, but the teachers are all so encouraging and once you get the hang of it it's a really great and empowering workout. I've gone from not working out consistently to going 3-5 times a week now and am so glad I joined! Prices are on par with other boutique fitness studios so if you're someone who needs other people for the accountability, it's not unreasonable. They also have still been offering virtual classes which is nice if you don't think you can make it in. You do have to cancel within 4 hours to not be penalized but that's way more lenient than most places which is nice! The first Foundations class is free so there's no reason to not try it out! read more

Although the instructors are friendly and good with what they are allowed to teach, it seems they are very restricted with corporate office. The warm up/cool downs are the exact same every single class for like 3 months straight. It becomes extremely boring and monotonous. If you have Barre Code in your area, I would definitely try that. If you are new to Pure Barre or new to Pure Barre Fishers you are probably scratching your head over the recent reviews. The "owners" would like you to believe that former employees could not handle change, former members are just too emotional and mad at them through no fault of their own, and that they offer an amazing Pure Barre experience for their customers. There are several issues at this location for which the management team will not acknowledge nor take accountability. The first issue is staffing. In less than 6 months, they have lost 11+ plus qualified, certified and experienced instructors. They have not been able to backfill in number & quality of instructors. This has had a direct impact on issue number two which is the quality of the services offered at this location. They are not able to offer diversified classes & formats. The classes no longer include form correction, modifications or personalized coaching. The final issue is customer service. If you do try to approach the staff at this location with anything but positive feedback, they will claim that you are the problem. In spite of anything the management team may claim about me, I was a huge supporter of this location and invited many friends to attend classes and several became members. Please be cautious when signing any agreement with this location that lasts longer than 30 days. There are better studios within a short drive that provide a much better experience. They are worth the drive. My biggest regret was not switching studios sooner. read more

I have to say this place is what I've been missing from my normal workout routine! I do various things on my own at the gym but this is on a whole other level! My lower body is super challenging to tone and these workouts have you "embracing the shake", and this is something I wouldn't have pushed through by myself! It can be as tough as you want it to be, and the outcome is rewarding, I noticed a difference two weeks in! It gets easier to follow and feels more natural the more you go, so I would definitely sign up for a free trial (or trials during week long promos) to get the gist of the basics or try the other classes if you're ready. There's different packages to suit your schedule/lifestyle. I'm almost two months in and I've met so many people at all types of fitness levels. The instructors are encouraging and always willing to provide assistance during the workout and answer questions and provide tips when asked. They also focus on teaching the correct techniques so you get the most out of each movement. I took my free Foundations class with Katie a few weeks ago and then got an unlimited membership while they were running a special for Black Friday. Lots of class times to choose from, including virtual classes (in tandem with other locations nearby). Staff seem to be prioritizing cleanliness during Covid. The studio is very clean and belongings go in a bin at your station. Masks are required in and out of the studio but can be removed during class if desired. I'm not entirely comfortable with this so I've been taking mostly livestream classes but saw on social media that they may be offering some mask required in-person classes in January, which I'll definitely check out. All in all, glad to have a way to keep healthy - physically and mentally - during 2020! read more

When I first joined, I wasn't sure how often I would attend classes. I haven't really worked out routinely since college, so getting back in the routine is difficult. However the classes, whether in person or virtual, have made it easy to want to work out. In person classes are smaller and cleaning after each class due to COVID, so I feel my safety is not at risk by attending classes. The instructors are great, and the class schedule makes it possible to attend, whether or not someone works or not. I am looking forward to continuing to attend classes here next year! read more

I had an amazing time with their barre class because it was truly a huge challenge for me. It focused on areas that I now realize I'd like to improve - like my flexibility and arm strength. Haha The instructor was very encouraging and kept us moving the entire hour. I was in awe at the determination and focus in that room. You could tell that everyone was there to build on their own strength and were pushing as hard as they could push. It made me keep going when at times I literally want to curl up in a ball and massage my aching legs and butt. Haha I left the class feeling great and wanting more - it was wonderful! I've only recently been exposed to barre and I must say, it's a class where I feel like every part of my body is working as hard as it can. The idea of Pure Barre is great. And the classes really are great here. However, this system is the biggest scam. They offer a free class to get introduced to pure barre, this was really great for someone who's never been. However, what they don't tell you is immediately after the class they make you decide if you want an unlimited membership for only $99. The owner wouldn't allow me to think about and get back with her in the morning. $99 for a month isn't bad, but there's a catch. You must put your credit card on file for auto renew and you have to cancel at least 30 days in advance. The problem is, your unlimited membership started that same day. (So really, you paid for your "free" intro class) And you cant stop the auto renew. So just there they scammed you into signing up for 2 months. MOREOVER, you didn't have time to check your personal schedule or the class schedule and you come to find that their times are so limiting that it doesn't even work with your schedule. This system is scam and they will try every way to take your money. They do not care about what the best decision for you is. I paid for unlimited for the month of September and have I three big travels book. I only have 2 weeks in and out of the month that I will be here I was a still scammed into this. They will take your money and they are not flexible. Ask the questions before handing your credit card. And if you are at all concerned DO NOT DO IT. They do not refund. Unless, if you have a lot of money and don't care about the price. Then this is a great boutique fitness class to keep in your back pocket. But for the rest of the world, save your hard earned money, sis. UPDATE: they literally just charged me $15 for canceling a class. What is the point of paying so much for getting penalized when something comes up. And no where on the app or in person do they explain a $15 fee. This is getting ridiculous.
