Finally got the chance to visit the barre code in fishers today. Honestly, I visited because I won a giveaway from the studio in downtown Indy that's set to open in May and thought I should give this one a whirl. I took the 8:30am Sunday class. The studio is located within a commercial area and may seem unassuming as you follow your GPS there. But wow - this studio fully utilized the space it is in. I was greeted upon arrival and filled out the sheet as a first time student. (Also TBC is on classpass!) I took my shoes off at the front. They have a small retail area as well as an area with towels, wipes, mats for rent, etc. this area seemed to pertain to the heated classes more than the original barre code class that i was there for. I was shocked at how larger the studio was. For sure the largest barre studio I've ever seen. I felt like I had so much space which was nice. The prop area outside has a small easel up top that states what you will need for your class. This studio has two classrooms - one for the heated classes, and one for the nonheated. Plenty of lockers with keys are available as well. Now for the class: wow what a butt kick. Literally did butt kicks from time to time. But the 50 minutes flew by. The pacing was quick but I never felt like i wasn't able to stay up to speed. Throughout the class the lights dimmed to prepare us for the final "burnout" as they call It and stretching. My hips could have used a bit more stretching between segments but all in all it was a great workout. I may just venture back again! read more

Last night I had the privilege of checking out Barre Code for the first time as recommended to me by fellow Yelper's, Sara and Brooke. The experience kicked off in the best of ways with a very friendly welcome and tour of the space. I was really impressed by how large their building as in how many rooms and classes they were able to host at the same time. they offer a small shopping area three dressing rooms and several different weights to coordinate with different classes. My particular visit was for the hot stretch class which included intense stretching in a heated room for 30 minutes. It seemed that this was just what my body needed after a few days of spin classes. Note that if you do not have a mat, you can rent theirs for two dollars as well as towels and water bottles. I also appreciated that their first sample class was only eight dollars for new customers. Often times the $20 for a first class at other studios makes it a bit too much when you don't know what you're getting into. read more

After taking my first Barre class I have become a Barre junkie. I have tried lots of other workouts, belonged to gyms and have tried various fitness programs and in my opinion no other workout is as well rounded as Barre. It combines all aspects to a well rounded workout including strength training, cardio and restoration. I started taking classes at Barre Code about a month ago and have been hooked ever since. First class is $8, first month unlimited membership is ($80) much less then other programs and then they offer affordable packages and unlimited memberships. From a cost savings stand point if you decided to come every day you could get down to around $4 a class which is basically what you would pay for a daily latte at Starbucks. What I'm impressed with most is the friendliness of the staff. I already feel like a regular and I have only been coming for 30 days. I also greatly appreciate the 5:30 am classes so I can get my workout in before work. I enjoy that the instructors motivate me and push me offering something new every day. I can take a different class at different intensities and keep my workout fresh. All classes are around 50 min. They offer TBC (boot camp), Brawl (kickboxing), Barayasa (hot yoga), BarreRestore (half barre/half stretching), HIIT (interval training), Barre (Pilates/yoga/core work) and SO MUCH MORE ALL included in the membership. Each workout combines a series of props (ball, medicine ball, bands, kettle bell, weighted bar, weights, etc) so each workout is new keeping me free of workout boredom and continuously keeps my body and mind challenged. Feel the burn! I usually leave every class dripping in sweat. And my muscles continue to ache (in a good way) days later. It's surprising how sore you can get doing simple movements with just your body weight or the 2 lb. hand weights. Seriously, manly strength training workouts ain't got nothing on BBF! I can't forget to mention how great the staff is. All the instructors are really nice and encouraging. On yelp, I don't tend to dote on places that don't serve food, but BBF Indianapolis is an exception. My roommate practically dragged me the first time, but she was just trying to drag my butt off the couch after the end of a very long relationship. And for that, I'll be forever grateful. read more

I can officially say I am a Barre Code lover. After leaving for a few months to try something "different" I am back and couldn't be happier. This place is one of a kind in my book and offers the best all around experience - from the incredible women who greet and teach class to the adorable studio and amazing variety, this studio has a very satisfied patron. The atmosphere and family vibe the studio creates makes exercising so much fun! I look forward to my barre classes each and everyday. I love the studio, the owner, the instructors; they are all amazing! I really enjoy the support, everyone is so kind and they push you to do your best but also are great about giving modifications... (I have horrible knees and ankles). They dim the lights in class which I love and every class is different, I've been there over a year and it's always a challenge! Beautiful facility with a very spacious double-studio set up. They offer a hot bar class and have tons of props available for each specific class. My instructor was very friendly and went around a made corrections to the class but took the whole class along with us which I am not used to in a barre class. There was a lot of apparatus use that had me wobbling all over the place but definitely got my heart rate up. The class I took wasn't very full so it felt a little disjointed and I'm anxious to make it to a packed class to feed off the energy. Love the space! read more

This is a really great place to work out. These are challenging workouts, even after having gone there for over a year. While workouts can be modified for newbies or people returning to their fitness routines, you'll break a sweat if you're experienced or brand new. You can tell the workouts are designed by knowledgeable fitness pros. They're well-designed to give you the bod you want, and they happen to also be quite fun. Those 50 minutes fly right by. On a final note, I find the instructors and staff are consistently, genuinely, nice. There isn't that drama that some other places can have going on. Had so much fun doing the brawl class!! It keeps you thinking since you put various moves together throughout the class (the instructor helps you through, don't worry!) and keeps you guessing with the different moves. It makes you sooooo sweaty, sooooo tired, and feel sooo amazing afterward. I will definitely be back to try more classes! It's a really cute place on the inside too. read more

I've been coming to The Barre Code - Fishers for over 5 years now. I can't speak highly enough of this place. The workouts are challenging and the routines are constantly updated, keeping it fresh and fun. They offer a variety of formats from their standard barre toning class to strength training to several cardio options. As the two start review says: meh. After really enjoying a barre class elsewhere, I went for Barre-dio, thinking it would get my heart rate up a bit more than a normal barre class. It did, so mission accomplished, but I left feeling less like a ballerina and more like my old awkward junior high self. A trusty search of YouTube didn't find any example workouts, so I had no idea what to expect when I walked in. We learned 6 or 7 8-count aerobic sequences, and would cycle through them for about 7 minutes at a time. Once we finished the sequence, we had toning combinations for upper body, lower body, and core, separated each time by the cardio sequence. I am easing back into working out so I didn't expect it to be a walk in the park, but you could see that most of the class was struggling with the moves, particularly in the toning segments. I didn't particularly care that I looked like a fool, but it's always nice to have an instructor who will (nicely) correct you to, more than anything, prevent injury. My neck muscles are killing me 48 hours later, assuredly from poor core form. One less "Your body is going to look SO GOOD" affirmations and a few more modifications/corrections, and I might be a Barre-dio fan. The class itself had good intentions, I suppose, but something about it left much to be desired for me. Maybe it was feeling out of place among some really fit folks, or the annoying music that was kind of muffled the whole time...I don't know, y'all. I just wasn't digging it. (Two pros: the floor is super cushy and feels great, and I LOVE that they keep the lights dim for class.) read more

I have been coming faithfully for 6 months and I honestly love all the classes. Sometimes I'll do 2 classes in one day (strength and then cardio). The studio is very clean and super cute and it just makes it a joy to come workout. I've been to their 5:30 am barre class twice now and it was honestly the perfect way to begin the day. Waking up at 5 is NEVER an easy task for me, but once I got there and started moving, I woke up pretty quickly. I've really enjoyed getting to know the instructors and the barre room is huge and very inviting. I've never done dance, so the whole aspect of incorporating a barre into workouts is very new to me. So far I've been amazed at what you can do to gain strength while having zero, or very little, equipment. During that hour you work on the core, legs, upper body and ass - and boy oh boy do the ass workouts kill. "Feeling the burn" now means so much. Barre Bee Fit Indianapolis is as good as it gets! I just started BBF recently, but have fallen in love with the workouts. I love the open feeling of the barre rooms and the fact that you can fit more than 12 people in a class. I also love that BBF offers hot classes such as Barre Burn. There are so many types of barre classes that BBF offers. I can feel my body changing every time I attend a class. When people say it is a great workout for your body and mind, they are right. This is happy place. I've been attending classes regularly here for almost 4 years. It's hard to find a workout you love and can stick to for that long! There are SEVEN different class styles, so there's something for everyone, and it never gets old. I find myself sore after almost every class, even four years later. It feels so good! That means my body is always being challenged, which is important for growth/building strength! I'm also a runner and have found that using the Barre Code to cross-train has made me a better, stronger, faster runner. The energy of the women and instructors is AWESOME. The women at this studio (instructors and fellow clients, too) are so encouraging! They want to see you succeed. They want you to be better than you were yesterday. Best workout EVER ! Love this place! Its a combination of pilates yoga and ballet that give you a great workout . It consists of two rectangular dimly lit rooms with a ballet bar and huge mirrors. They turn up the music loud and you follow the instructor to workout to the beat of the music. I love that you never feel judged or pushed beyond what your own body can handle. Classes fill up quick so be sure to sign up and book your appointment online! Downside is that it is expensive. It's $80 for an unlimited month to give an idea of one of their packages. Love this studio! Beautiful space and very friendly staff. Sometimes coming into a gym or workout for the first time can be very intimidating but not here. Everyone is really nice and they offer several different types of workouts. You can do toning classes in regular setting (Barre Code class) or in the hot room (Burn Class). They offer cardio classes also. HIIT class is very challenging and each time you take these classes the routines are different. They have lots of different props that are used in the classes. Brawl class gives you the chance to punch and kick out any stress you might be feeling that day. I would recommend going and trying it out! read more
