Barre. So. Hard. I came here for the first time today and Kristen the instructor was super friendly and helpful. I've tried barre at Exhale and Bar Method before, but Pure Barre was definitely my favorite. Most barre classes are upbeat and challenging, but Pure Barre definitely has the best set of moves and number of repetitions. No matter how fit you are, this class will beat you up. I really loved that the stretches were scattered in between the most challenging exercises for sufficient rest. None of the stretches felt rushed, which is what I've experienced at other studios. The lockers are easy, there's a key to the lock so you don't have to bring your own. The studio itself is well-kept and clean, and the class wasn't crowded at all at the Sunday 7am class. I absolutely loved this studio and the workout I received, I stopped going because they require vaccine card. That's not fair, Nassau does. It require proof of vaccination. You need to wear a mask if you do not show vax card. Very hard to workout like that. I wish they could change this rule, I know a lot of people who change their mind. read more

I first heard of Pure Barre through a colleague who convinced me it was not like previous barre classes I had tried, namely Core Fusion and Barre3 neither of which I was a fan of. After my first class at Pure Barre Manhasset with Deena I understood what she was talking about. Never have 55 minutes of a challenging workout gone by so fast. From the first class I was hooked. The studio is exceptionally clean, the teachers are great (motivating and helpful), and I am at the point where I'm beginning to see results after only 9 classes. I feel stronger, my posture is better, I feel more energetic and alive and several of my friends have remarked that my legs are looking great. I am a huge Soul Cyclist and have found that Soul Cycle for cardio along with Pure Barre for toning and strength is the perfect combination. I find myself looking forward to every Pure Barre class. I absolutely love everything about pure barre manhasset. The owners Jenny and Deena are so amazing and welcoming. Beginners are made to feel at home and never need to feel embarrassed. I was embraced with open arms and part of the pure barre manhasset "family" for over a year. The entire staff, Tara, Stephanie, Mallory, Diana, Caroline, Kristin, Teresa.... simply perfect. I felt Completely at ease when I was there and miss it so much. It becomes your home away from home and you easily form friendships and bonds with both the instructors and other patrons. I went here a few days ago using my class pass and I liked it. I wont say love and I'll tell you why... I liked that the studio was very clean- everyting was spotless, the floord, the walls, the bars and all of the equipment. After our work out we were given wipes to clean out mats and equipment with before putting it back and I thought that was awesome. I liked that the girls who greeted us was very nice, welcoming and informative. The initial paperwork took a few minutes probably about 5 and was very minimal so that was another plus. I liked that the parking was literally right in front of the door, very convenient. I enjoyed the work out, really focused on my core, I was a first timer so I was weak and it killed me after 30 minutes but i pulled through. What I didn't love was that after halfway through i got bored. The exercises were very repetitive. I didn't love that someone wasn't next to the first timers correcting our form and helping us to make sure we were doing everything right. Most of the exercises were being told out loud and our faces were turned to the walk so we couldn't see the example. I thought it would have been helpful if the trainernor her assistant at least walked around abd helped us. Totally not their fault I totally enjoyed tara's routine but thats just my personal preference. I would definitely go back. Many people say you get great results with Barre so I hope to experience that. read more

This studio is very clean and Jenny (either THE owner or one of the owners) is very nice! She taught the class I took and was great about coming around to everyone, helping us improve our posture during certain moves and discretely correcting us when needed. I especially love that Jenny took the time a few minutes before class to go over the basics so I wasn't totally lost (like explaining what "tuck" means!). This studio has just one class at a time, and there is ample parking out front. There are no showers and they do not supply towels which kind of stinks, but there are a few changing rooms if you need them and they do have locking cubbies (each locker has its own key so no need to bring a lock). There's a class offered called "Breaking Down the Barre" that goes over everything for newbies, but unfortunately, I didn't see that class offered anywhere on the schedule. I would have loved to take that one first. Overall, I loved the class! It was just enough burn - but not so much that I couldn't walk for two days after, like some other barre classes I've been to. I'm sore, but it's a good sore! Definitely great for beginners (like me) and they really mean it when they say that anyone can take these classes. It's not that they're easy - but they are 100% manageable. If there's something you can't do today, next time you might be able to. It's all about building strength, and the more you go, the better at it you'll get, and the better you'll feel! read more

I am so glad there is a barre studio in Manhasset! I live in NYC and use ClassPass, and I like to visit Pure Barre when I am at home. The studio is clean and comfortable and the workout is challenging but not crazy like Core Fusion. One star deducted because, as with many barre studios, there is only one workout so it would get repetitive. read more

There are definitely some pluses to the studio: the studio is clean and well organized, classes are offered through out the day, and the instructors and desk staff are friendly. I took two classes and the instructors give very little individual attention to students and are not easily seen from all areas of the studio. Posture and alignment are so important in this type of workout and while I fully realize these are not private sessions I was surprised at the lack of individual correction offered to students during the class. I also thought the pace of the class when changing exercises was too rushed - yes you want to have a flow to the class but this is not a HIIT workout. An extra few seconds to allow students to check their posture and position would make the exercises more effective. It's a good workout but I prefer more attention to detail. read more

A fabulous class with fantastic instructors! A new workout for me and it's great. They motivate you to work hard both in the class and in the studio with cute things like a bag of nuts or a sale on the great clothing! I highly recommend it!! read more
