I always jump on the chance to get my ass to a class when I travel to "big city". Ever since I moved out off Seattle I've miss you sooo much my dear Bar! I visited this location six years ago while still living in Seattle, but returned this year several times. It really hit the spot, it is located at Pearl District that the walk back to my hotel Benson is cherry on top. Great neighborhood that has everything a girl could ask for, organic grocery store, organic healthy eats, shops... Back to the Bar. I never did online reservations but there was always warm smiles from the front desk while they put me in the class.( This is not always the case fromBar studios) The class is challenging as usual but instructors are patient with kind and encouraging voice (again, not always the case from Bar), I just love this place very much! Give it a try, I believe this studio is great for Bar newbies since they are friendly and inviting ; but also great for Bar addicts since they offer many class options including the usual mixed class, Bar express which is 45 mins, and More intense classes Bar move...etc Enjoy y'all ! I never take a Bar class afterward and say to yourself... I wish I didn't do that! In fact, my body and soul smile and sing. Hope you will feel the power of Bar through this awesome studio!

Be inspired by your instructors, and trust that your boundaries and knowledge of your body and what's best for you are respected. I've been doing barre workouts for 10+ years in multiple locations across the country (NYC, Chicago) - I've never stepped out of a studio because my boundaries weren't respected by an instructor that ignored me saying no to a correction. Because I knew the method she suggested wasn't challenging enough for my body. I requested my refund for the remainder of my package and was told no. I would at least appreciate an apology as my "no" for a correction (said multiple times) was ignored. So much for owning and honoring our bodies. If your fitness level is above average- this isn't a place I would recommend. Iso you know and trust your body- this isn't a place I'd recommend. If you're looking for an effective highly challenging workout- this isn't a place I'd recommend. On top of all of that- the classes are overcrowded, so there's not a ton of space. If you're looking to make small movements and feel a bit of muscle soreness and feel like you got your workout done, and don't know much about your body or fitness- this is the place for you!

I literally think of writing a review every time I step out of class--but then I get overwhelmed by…read morehow many things I have to say that I just don't? Anyway, here's my attempt at giving a concise overview of all these classes have done for me. When I signed up for class the first day, I was terrified. First off, I had never been to a studio-type class before. Second, I was in a year-long process of recovering from a nasty case of sciatica where I had shooting pain from my low back all the way down the back of my leg to my heal. And when I say nasty, I mean wicked god-awful nasty. At a certain point, age 24, I was using the scooters that they had in Fred Meyer to shop for groceries because I would be in so much pain that I'd literally collapse to the floor if I walked for more than 10 minutes at a time. After about a year of at-home yoga videos from YouTube, I decided to go to my first class. And, look. I had made some pretty okay recovery by then. But I was still in constant pain. I don't know how to say this without being dramatic or cheesy, but that first class changed my life. I came in not even able to hold a plank. Period. Like, not even for two seconds. And now (on good days, of course!) I can hold one for a full 90 seconds. With pretty decent form, too! But I always find myself showing off to my friends: Look what I did in Pure Barre today! It's insane! For that kind of progress--I've gotta say--I would not be able to do it on my own. It took a team of helpful instructors who I know genuinely care about me to get there. Sometimes even going out of their way to give one-on-one instruction. And can I just say, they're all super body positive, too?! I was genuinely worried because, when I started, I definitely was purchasing my clothes from the plus-size section. Never have I ever felt like they were looking at me differently because of my size NOR have I felt like they've ever made weight loss seem like something I SHOULD be doing. I have though. Over 40 pounds. But that was never ever their focus. Their priorities have always been getting stronger--on taking that 45min to 1hr to work on yourself And I love how they leave those intentions, what working on yourself means, to the individual. Oh. Also. You might be thinking, "Wow. That girl with sciatica was okay in this workout. Sounds like it might be boring." Which haha. No. Pure Barre has never gotten easier. I've found that the more my body is capable of, the more I can push it. Now, nearly 300 classes later, I still get sore after class. And, I know that I'm not the only person who thinks this, but I genuinely think it gets harder the more I do it. I'm always finding new muscles to work. New ways to dig deeper. New ways to push harder. Nah. I really believe that this is a workout for a large variety of body types. If you're even thinking of going, at least try it. It may be a bit pricey, but it's the best money I have EVER spent. Plus, idk if I'm supposed to say this..but they'll let you have a free week to try it out. In which case, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!! The first class is always awkward. Let yourself really figure out if it's right for you.

Buyer beware. When…read moremy schedule changed and I attempted to cancel my membership, I was informed that I would be charged for an additional full month regardless of whether I used the classes. What turned a routine cancellation into a negative experience was not the existence of policies, but the way the situation was handled. Communication was delayed, dismissive, and unhelpful, and reasonable questions about options or accommodations were repeatedly met with deflection rather than engagement. The studio owner's public response to this review further illustrates the issue. Instead of addressing concerns about communication and professionalism, it speculates about my motives, references my class bookings, and characterizes me as attempting to "take advantage" of a promotion. That framing is inaccurate and unnecessary. I was willing to adhere to the terms of the agreement and downgraded my membership in good faith when my schedule changed. The issue was never avoiding obligations -- it was the lack of respectful, straightforward communication. Publicly calling out individual customers by name and assigning intent, rather than resolving matters privately and professionally, is concerning. This experience felt far removed from the community-focused, supportive environment the brand promotes and instead reflected rigid enforcement paired with poor customer care. Prospective members should read cancellation and downgrade terms very carefully and consider how issues are handled if circumstances change.

I also want to mention that I booked the class through Class Pass. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Emmie who was also my instructor. She was very sweet and so welcoming. She gave me a brief summary of what to expect and answered any questions I had. My first impression of the studio was that it was very clean and cute. The class itself was great. Emmie is an awesome instructor and very motivating which makes all the difference. There is a parking lot but it can get full as the studio is located in a plaza with other businesses. I'm so glad I found them, I honestly prefer them to any barre studio in the area (I've tried them all). The instructors are top notch and incredibly helpful. I also appreciate that they mix things up with new styles of class - I just tried a brand new class the other day which engaged a ton of lateral movement - not common in Barre and really left me feeling like I experienced something new. They recently reopened and I am very excited to see what they have in store for Lake Oswego!
