This has become one of my favorite workouts! The instructors are great, friendly, and helpful when it comes to form. I have always been into gym workouts and running, and this has been surprisingly a nice change of pace and worth waking up early to go. I just finished my first week of Barre classes and I am definitely a fan! I came into my first class skeptical as to whether or not I was going to get a good workout and left pleasantly surprised (and sweaty!). Each instructor is so nice and teaches a slightly different combination of exercises so you wont get bored. If you are unsure this is a good fit for you just give it a shot! Being a woman who does not work out at all! I was very skeptical about going to Pure Barre. I exited to step out of my comfort zone and give it a try since they were offering a week free. I rallied up my bestie and head out to hit the bar! When we arrived I was instantly impressed by the studio. Located on the upscale Hughes Landing right next to RIDE cycling studio. The chandeliers and modern/ industrial decor had me at hello. Even the bathrooms were swanky with plenty of hair ties and deodorant for women who may have forgotten them. Heather our instructor made us feel at ease by explaining that we didn't need to feel obligated to do everything the way she did. Our objective was to maintain form and modify if necessary. If you think this class is ballet dance and slow pirouette's and plié you have another thing coming. The music was kicking! And the moves were slow but VERY effective. By the time my hour was up, I was drenched in sweat and every muscle group was sore. I really enjoyed the class and the right feeling in my entire midsection for days after. I would highly recommend trying Pure Barre. If I wasn't a student and trying to buy a house, I would go monthly. I promise no matter how big or small you are, you will LOVE this class! read more

This place is amazing! I cannot say enough positive things about my experience here. Not only is the staff incredibly helpful and super nice but the facilities and equipment are always clean. After 3 babies and 3 c-sections I tried everything to get back in shape, including training and running a half marathon. Nothing worked for me, however after just 2 months of Pure Barre I lost 2 sizes and have muscle definition all over! I will say that this is by far the hardest workout I have ever done and I was in the military. read more

I thought I was in pretty decent shape but decided to do something that challenged flexibility and was still low impact as I run regularly. After walking by Pure Barre I decided to try the free week. The first class kicked my butt and left me sore for three days after...but it is working core muscles (and others) that are not done running. The instructor (Lacey) said to just modify moves if needed but don't quit. There is also concern for injury and pregnancy per the form, so I imagine there are modifications taught to those who need them. A con is it will be pricy: you do get a 99 dollar intro month (79 if you do 3 or more classes in your free week) but then it jumps to 199 with unlimited visits and no contract. You can get contract discounts. I am definitely going to give the first month a shot after the free week. The core feels stronger after only one class and I can't wait to see what a month will do. read more

Took my first class yesterday and it is hard but i loved it. I was very sore today which tells me I worked the right muscles. Today's class was tough because I was sore, however, I'm looking forward to go back. The staff & instructors are very nice and helpful and the facility is VERY clean and organized! read more

Best all body workout I have done in years. Helps strength, flexibility and overall tone. Love it!

Pros: Classes were organized, timely, fast paced and energetic. Facility clean. Cons: Soon after taking classes, I started having low back pain. I expressed my concern to an instructor and one of the co-owners at different times. I was advised to stay more tucked and to inform the class instructor so she can correct my form, if needed; which I did. As a result of continuing classes, my back pain became so bad that I couldn't bend forward or sit for two weeks. My doctor determined that I should no longer participate in Pure Barre classes due to my body mechanics. Even with a doctor's note and the knowledge that I hurt my back from the classes, the owners insisted that I pay a $275 cancellation fee. If you scroll down towards the bottom of the agreement, you will find the following terms: "Cancellation Policy: I acknowledge that this agreement may not be cancelled for any reason WITHOUT FULL CONSENT AND AGREEMENT of Pure Barre The Woodlands & Hughes Landing. Client may cancel contract by paying out additional monies owed in full and a $275 Cancellation Fee". ***The cancellation fee was increased to $500 on May 1, 2016! From my experience, these owners will NOT CONSENT to waiving the $500 cancellation fee regardless of the circumstances. Note that this agreement states you could be held liable to pay "additional monies owed in full"--yikes! Buyer Beware! read more
