I decided to come back to Pure Blowout as I heard it's recently under a new management. I went a couple years ago and I wasn't happy with the service or my blowout style. I took a chance and I'm so happy I did!! I had the best experience with Kaley. She is so nice and talented! I did a blowout with her and it was gorgeous. If you decide you want to do long beach wave curls (my favorite look) she's also incredible with that! I am so happy to have this place available for me to go to for blowouts and styles! I tried to boom three times??? No one answers the phone and when I went in nobody helped me. No front desk person?

Tried this place because they had availability the week of before i left for an international work trip & wanted to give myself a week to adjust before my sales kick off. I wish i hadn't. Sounded like the salon is under new ownership & they are doing some remodeling. Got A haircut & blowout so paid $100 + tip. At first glance i was shocked at how much hair was gone, but i gave grace because it had been a while since my last cut. It was curled, so looked fine .. & i continued to curl it, but noticed one side looked longer but figured it was the way i was curling. When i got back i straightened my hair for halloween & that's when i noticed how crooked the cut was. One side is totally longer than the other. I called just now to see if i could come get it fixed tomorrow or monday before my next trip & the front desk gal said the same stylist had to fix it & she's in today, & then not again til thursday so I'm now out of luck for my big event. :( so annoyed read more

Got a blowout with Jessie while down in Solana beach for a wedding! She was so lovely and my hair looked incredible. The volume was amazing and it lasted a few days with no issues. She catered to my quick turnaround time and was so fun and easy going to chat with. Salon was beautiful and very easy to book and find location wise. Got my hair done by Ava this weekend and very happy with the results! I think I should've booked a full highlight instead of a partial, but Ava was still able to make my hair look way better than before. I felt like the time it took was better utilized than other places because I've been in the salon for 9 hours before, which was just miserable (granted it was for processing my hair). The prices are also way better here than other places. I got a partial highlight and toner done for $150 (without tip). The service was great too even though they were pretty busy on Saturdays. I believe Ava is pretty new at this salon, but I'm definitely going to be a regular of hers! read more

I had a last minute event was going to and wanted to get a blow out before. It was a last minute appointment I booked but was super happy I was able to get in. I ran into crazy traffic before my appointment and was 10 minutes or so late. I don't remember the stylists name who did my hair but she was amazing! She was so patient considering how late I was and was able to still do the service. The whole process was great! The salon has TV's on the walls that play movies. One of my favorite movies was playing, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days. We both laughed a lot and before I knew it my hair was all set! I'll definitely be back again for another blowout! read more

Here's the thing - you walk out with the style you want. So really I'd give this place a 3.5 stars. I've been a couple of times for my teen daughter and her experience varied. First time the woman burnt her scalp repeatedly. The second visit (after choosing a different service member) was more pleasant with no burnt issues. A secondary note would be the vibe. It's a bit dreary. No genuine smiles, no offer to get a drink be it water, soda, champagne. The little touches that make a $55 hair blowout worth your buck. read more

I have been coming here for years, it use to have a happy, fun vibe, with some amazing stylist. Its slowly turned into a dump. Now when you walk in it seems ALL the stylist are miserable. There's no customer service, no one is happy or friendly. All the really great stylist have left. It's very uncomfortable to sit through. My stylist this time called my name, didn't introduce herself, smelt heavily of cannabis, got shampoo in my eyes, she wouldn't even speak to me when I asked her questions but it's probably because this girl seemed to be stoned out of her own head. When I asked if I could have a little more volume she actually rolled her eyes at me. I feel like I paid 80 dollars for a blowout my 5 year old could have done better. This was the absolute breaking point with me at this salon. Save yourself the money and dignity. I won't be back again! read more

Unfortunately, I did not have a stellar experience with my haircut. Ultimately, my main issue was that it felt like my stylist (who I met for the first time) was not listening to me. I wanted my hair cut to my collarbone and styled as I was attending a wedding that night. My stylist first cut my hair to about 2-3 inches past my collarbone and when I noted that I wanted it shorter, still did not cut to my asked for length. They did not check again if the length was okay during the cut and then told me at the end that they were not quite comfortable cutting to what I asked for since they had already removed quite a bit of hair. Additionally despite asking for my hair to be styled with some curls both in online booking notes and before the hair wash, when I asked for it at the end of the cut, was told there was no time and that I should take a curling iron at home and do it myself. They ultimately changed their mind and squeezed in a quick curling which I did appreciate. Overall, this was frustrating as my stylist had not arrived to work by the time my appointment was supposed to start or and neither did I appreciate the hints that it was my fault for not being satisfied with the first cut length and therefore took time to cut shorter (although really still not to the length I desired). I bumped up my review by one star because I do appreciate that they did style my hair at the end but needless to say did not have a great experience. read more

Brittany did a great job with my Cezanne treatment and communicated the process very well. She was set up at a station with no mirror? Even though there were several other empty stations with mirrors. I booked an appointment online for 5pm (there were 5 and 6pm appointments available) and then called 3 min later to change to 6pm as the 6pm was still available. I was told this was possible and when I showed up for 6pm they told me the service I booked could not be done. I was then asked to leave. I also overheard the owner yell at the poor stylist, Jessie, over the phone about "handling a customer." Stay away from this place and their poor treatment of both customers and employees. read more

Getting a blowout is never something I do for myself, but I decided to splurge and I can tell you that Hailey was so incredibly welcoming and professional. I feel awful leaving a bad review because I know the world is short staffed, but this was truly just a terrible experience. Started 30 mins late and it took her 45 mins after the wash just to dry. I actually had to get up and leave before she finished because I'd already been there an hour and a half. And the blowout just doesn't look good. She was too timid to get all the curl out and just didn't seem to know what she was doing. $50 is a lot of money and while I'm sure there are other stylists here who do a great job, I definitely suggest going to dry bar instead. read more

While I was there she told me about this organic keratin treatment and I have already booked to have my hair treated by her. It was such a pleasure, after another salon let me down, I was in a bind to find a place to do my hair the same day. We were able to obtain 2 same day appointments for a blowout. My appointment landed me in Chris' chair. She spent time and showed a genuine interest in what I wanted to achieve. I have to say I was pleased beyond expectation. I asked for beach waves and full bangs coverage. Chris made my waves absolutely beautiful and flowing. Unfortunately my friend was placed with a stylist that didn't have the insight or skill to do a stick straight blow out. She was unhappy. I saw had finished hair and felt she looked worse than she did when we arrived. We went to Los Tacos next door and while there I convinced her to go back with me and talk to Ryan the receptionist to ask about having a different stylist correct it. Ryan was amazing, understanding , he said he understood and didn't hesitate to make it right. While Ryan and I were discussing the issue Chris heard us and said she could help and would be free in 20 minutes. We had ordered food at Los tacos so timing was perfect to return My friend got into Chris' chair and came out looking fantastic. She used a flat iron (which should have been used in the first service ) now flat ironing is extra $ which is I think is $5 more. We didn't get charged for the extra fix service by Chris which I thought was generous and a gesture for having to come back. I highly recommend Chris as your stylist She will make sure you are happy with your finished look and it's very obvious she has experience with hair / styling etc that she can navigate the most picky and fussiest client. My friend is very picky but was pleased with her result. I plan I returning to Chris for my next blow out ! read more
