On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, I came in to see Isabel at the Hillside European Wax Center. She had no idea at first what I was going through -- I had just experienced the unimaginable loss of my mommy, sister, and brother-in-law in a tragic murder-suicide that happened right in the community where she lives. During my appointment, I received a chin wax, eyebrow wax, and tint in preparation for the funeral for my mother and sister on October 4, 2025. I broke down crying as I shared what had happened, and in that moment, Isabel showed me a level of kindness and compassion that went far beyond anything expected in her profession. At the end of my visit, Isabel gave me what I believe was the amount she had earned in tips that day to help me in any way she could. It was an act of pure selflessness -- something I will never forget. In a world where genuine compassion can be hard to find, Isabel's actions reminded me that there are still truly good-hearted people out there. What she did went far beyond business -- it was deeply personal, and it touched my heart in a way words can barely express. Thank you, Isabel, for your kindness, empathy, and generosity. Hooray: there is an app for booking! Be patient: booking as a new client takes a little while, at first check in they will tell you about products, buying a package takes a long time, when paying sometimes they have to enter manually... This being said the front desk is SUPER "quick" (they are hustling through the steps) and nice! Bonus: you can pay and tip with card, and just "add 18%". The spa suites are located on the eighth floor. The facial was pretty standard, slightly mediocre. There were awkward technical issues with the steamer, which took her about five minutes to fix. She did apologize for the issues and ended up getting it working. At the end she had to collect her belongings which is also a little awkward. It would've been great if she could've got the bath started so I didn't have to wait 15 minutes for it to fill up. You have 25 minutes to relax in the room and take a bath or a shower or use the sauna. This would be an excellent experience or well worth it if they allowed more time. The bath took 10 minutes to fill up/figure out and I only had 15 minutes left. 15 minutes is not enough for a bath and to get ready. I would've really enjoyed the amenities if I was allowed more time. I would say 45 minutes would be ideal. I think they should price higher if needed and give people this time. Without time to enjoy the amenities the spa is really just average. I like the brand of soap that they had available and that it is in a private room. Then we were told we could grab a coffee and a quick bite downstairs in the Lobby. Apparently the person we saw at the bar on the way in to our 10:00AM left because when I came downstairs the bar was Closed. So now I must wait 45 minutes for my husband, hungry and thirsty. Would not recommend this Spa to anyone. Definitely didn't start our Wedding Anniversary activities well. Prayerfully it will get better.
