If you want consistently delicious vegan food with a twist of legit Japanese style flair, this is the place to go. It's grab-and-go, fresh, delicious, and affordable! The menu changes every day, so look them up on FB before you head out! Vegan or not (aka I am not a vegan...although I probably should...), the food at Pure Kitchen is made with so much love and heart. The owner, Kyoko, and everyone who works there are amazing! So welcoming and kind! Our go-tos are mac and cheese (we fight for the last bite), black eye pea curry, ginger tofu bowl, asian noodles (kids pick), and spaghetti (kids pick). This place is my home away from home and the only Japanese place that I can take my kids to and they are treated like family (in Japanese, of course). Mushroom allergy PSA: please read before you dine here!!!! This was my first time visiting this restaurant. During an earlier visit, the cashier recommended their popular Friday enchiladas and crab cakes, so I returned later that week excited to try them. When I arrived, the cashier recognized me and pulled my order from the refrigerator. I was surprised since I expected freshly prepared hot food, though she did offer to warm it up. After paying, I went to my car and took a small taste. I quickly noticed mushrooms in the rice and called to confirm ingredients. I was informed that the crab cakes were made with lion's mane mushrooms and the enchiladas with portobello mushrooms. I have a mushroom allergy, so I immediately stopped eating. The cashier asked if I was still nearby and offered a refund, which I appreciated. When I went back inside, I also tried to find a mushroom-free cooked option but most menu items contained mushrooms. After returning to my car, another staff member approached me and stated I could not get a refund because I had eaten the food, even though I only tasted it before discovering the allergy issue. When we went back inside to clarify, the cashier confirmed the refund had already been processed but stated the food was unsellable because it had been touched. While I did receive my $30 refund, the experience felt problematic and lacked clear ingredient disclosure. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not return. read more

I love this place! These ladies are serious about making wholesome, organic, seed oil free meals at great prices. I only recently moved to Tampa but I'll be buying food from them all the time. We are what we eat, and they take health and nutrition very seriously. The meals are grab and go, but they can also be made real time and heated up in the oven. I was driving through Tampa and was looking for a quick lunch stop with vegan options near the highway, and this place fit the bill! I'm glad I went because the food was delicious, and they have so many drinks and grab-and-go meal options to try. I got the tofu steak ($15 with tax) which didn't taste anything like a steak, but came with a divine ginger sauce that went amazingly with the Brussels sprouts and tofu. I'm usually not a fan of brussels and actually didn't realize they were there at first because the condensation drops in the lid obscured the view. But I was pleasantly surprised by how it all tasted and would definitely get it again! The purple rice was also delicious and cooked to the perfect texture. Overall very tasty and I will be highly recommending this place! They have a couple seats available inside but most people I saw were ordering food to-go. A gem of a place: all-vegan take-away spot, with fridges and shelves lined with prepared meals and snacks of all sorts. I've been a customer here since they opened, over six years ago! The food has always been consistently delicious, wonderfully fresh, and leaves you feeling healthy and nourished. I especially enjoy their Japanese specials--the ramen, onigiri, and rare bento boxes are fabulous--but I've tried almost their entire menu and have never been disappointed. I appreciate their focus on organic ingredients and even filtered cooking water, but the real reason I eat here is because it is delicious. The owner and staff are so kind and lovely, and it is fun to see them preparing the food in the open kitchen. Had it not been for their carrying Gabby Bakes Cupcakes, I never would've visited Pure Kitchen. It has one of those names that sounds like everything inside is so healthy that it just isn't that good. I was shocked at how wrong I was. Pure Kitchen is mostly a grab and go joint. They offer a couple of cold cases filled with their various vegan salads, soups, side dishes and meals. They also have some bottled teas and kombuchas. There is a lot to choose from and without their Instagram, it could be totally overwhelming. Each morning they post everything that they have in stock on their Instagram. Check it before you visit. On my various trips to Pure Kitchen, I've tried a few things from here. My favorites? The sesame noodles and the buffalo macaroni salad. By the register there are lots of desserts from various local bakers. You can pick up Gabby Bakes cupcakes, a variety of We Vegan Eats items and energy bars from 3 Bar. This area is a must when I visit. I am leaving with no less than two items in my possession. Weekends they offer brunch items. I've never checked these out but they sell out often so I'm going to take that as a sign that the brunch is pretty good. The prices competitive when you stack them up against chain retailers and other places that offer completely vegan items. I can see why this place gets such great reviews - the food was delicious. I stopped in around 3:30 pm on a Thursday afternoon to pick up something for dinner. I was the only one in there at that hour, so I could take my time looking over the options. There is limited seating available, and minimal ambiance, so I feel like they are mostly set up to provide food to go. Since I was torn between two things, I decided to get both, which ended up being enough for three meals. Each entree I bought was $10. The first item I tried was the Asian noodles with vegetables. It was the only one left in the cooler, so I reasoned it must be good. And it was, if a little bit greasy. Not sure what oil or dressing was used, but perhaps it was a touch excessive. The meal was still flavorful, though. My favorite item, however, was the Pumpkin Chickpea Curry served with purple rice. This was outstanding! Rich in flavor, filling, and incredibly tasty. I can't wait to go back just for this. I also had a green matcha cookie which I did not love. It sadly had picked up some other strange flavor in either the cooking or storage process and the last couple bites had a really terrible flavor. But, that happens. I love that there is no dairy used in anything, and that all food items are labeled if they are Gluten-free, etc. Plenty of parking, friendly service, and delicious food make this a perfect place to stop and get food to go. read more

I've been waiting for a place like this my entire life. Finally the concept has come to life and with amazing and healthy food cooked with fresh ingredients. I don't have time or enjoy cooking much. I do a lot of Uber Eats but this is so much better than anything you could order, because of the quality of food you're getting. My favorite items that I've had so far have been: 1. The baked ziti (most definitely!) 2. The potato salad (amazing!) 3. The banana nut bread (make sure you eat it while it's fresh) The salmon dip was very good but I wouldn't say it tasted much like salmon dip. I liked a lot though! The staff at Pure Kitchen are always friendly and helpful. They offer a large variety of meals to please everyone. My favorite is their Mac n' Cheese. The taste is unique because they add nuts to the mix. PK is more of a grab and go place. There is minimal seating so if you have COVID concerns, you definitely want to get your meals for take out. What can I not say about Pure Kitchen? I am hooked on this place. Is there a place that you think about a little too often? For me, Pure Kitchen is it! This cute little organic vegan storefront is an awesome place to get some hearty and healthy plant based meals. This primarily grab-and-go organic vegan shop has impacted the neighborhood. After shaking off the disappointment/jealousy that PK opened while I was away from Tampa for a few months, I decided I needed to get on board. I was impressed and not disappointed by what I found. The shop also has meal delivery services as well as a newly designed brunch menu. If you need some good grub now, you can always buy and sit on a stool and enjoy at the ledge by the window. Chef Kyoko is a master at what she does--she creates unique and tasty vegan versions of classics and improvises to create some very interesting and tasty concoctions. Many of her meals incorporate Asian ingredients but also many do not. Everything I have tried has been excellent. Chef Kyoko is there when I pop in and always has a smile on her face or is ready to greet you. The rest of the staff is warm and friendly as well. Some of my favorites include the cashew cream based soups (please make more of the pumpkin as I have not yet had an opportunity to try it) , the lentil soup, the salads, the raw cabonara, and the mac and cheese. I also enjoy the coconut snowballs. I have not tried the agar jelly or chia pudding yet but the options and flavors look awesome and I have it on my list to try soon. One thing I really enjoy is that Pure Kitchen's facebook page is updated daily with their menu offerings for that day. It is a popular spot, and if you are fearful something will sell out (and trust me, things do) before you can get there, you can call to reserve a menu item with your name on it that will be available at the bottom of the cooler case for you to pick up. I am definitely not the target audience for Pure Kitchen so I consider my 5-star rating the highest compliment to the chef. Pure Kitchen offers a selection of grab-and-go organic, vegan and vegetarian meals and snacks. My husband was picking up sushi at SOHO Sushi, next door to Pure Kitchen, and decided to check out the menu. My husband is more of a meat and potatoes guy so I was surprised when he brought home several vegetarian dishes for us to try. Despite our carnivore lifestyle we loved the food at Pure Kitchen! All of the dishes we have tried have been packed with flavor and are surprisingly filling despite the lack of meat. One of our favorite dishes include the "Sweet Potato, Chickpea, and Kale Curry" served with rice. This curry dish smells absolutely heavenly and the beans and rice in this dish make this a hearty dish. The "Cold Pad Thai" and "Chickpea Couscous Bowl" are two of my favorite salads. I would buy the garlic tahini dressing by the bottle if Pure Kitchen ever decides to sell it! I haven't tried too many of the snacks, but we love the kale chips. My husband claims they are even better than mine (and mine are pretty darn good!). I almost wrote off Pure Kitchen because I initially thought "meh, vegetarian food", but everything I have tried so far has been excellent. We thought it was initially a fluke, but after three visits I have to admit all of the food is great. The menu changes weekly so we plan to return each week to try new dishes! read more

I loveeeeee this place! I was looking for something healthy in the area. I tried the pad thai and the BBQ Tempe and it was delicious. The flavor does not lack despite them being vegan dishes. If I could give this place higher than a 5-star rating I would! We live down near the Clearwater area and lost all our power due to Hurricane Helene with some minor damage. We saw on Facebook that Pure Kitchen was delivering food to people who have lost power/had damage and decided to try to call since it is day 2 without power and no dry food/anything we don't have to cook since we don't have power. They took our address, name, and amount of people and told us they would let us know if they would be able to deliver since they're down in Tampa. We are so grateful that they traveled the distance to give us food! It was a huge help especially since I am 9 months pregnant and not having food isn't ideal thank you so much not only is your empathy and customer service amazing the food is also delicious! read more

Three chicks inside said hello in unison, it was cute. I saw a pic of the chia pudding on Yelp so I had the cherry coconut milk variety and it was wonderful. Next time I will have the jerk fried rice or Mac n cheese- something more substantial. If you're vegan or like to eat clean this is the place for you. Fresh. I think 10 plus visits warrants a review! Safe to say I love this place..but why? The food is fantastic. My Husband had nooo idea he was eating vegan. :) my favorite entrees are the cold pad Thai, Asian sesame noodles, and the Saturday tofu poke bowl. I could eat the poke bowl every damn day. They also serve kombucha, soups, and specials of the week. Super reasonable pricing on the entrees at &10-12, especially when I have left overs.
