We literally worked every part of our body and I was sore for like 4 days after. The treadmill parts were especially grueling because, as a beginner, I was sandwiched in between people running on like 10.0 speed and I'm barely breathing trying to run on 7.0. I loved how the music was blasting and the lights were dim, so that we could suffer without being heard or seen by anyone else. The instructor, Josey, was great. He was upbeat and his instructions were very clear. I didn't know how he would pull off telling two groups of people two different sets of instructions, but he pulled it off! The Facility: Parking is a mad house. You should come maybe 10 minutes before the class so you can get all the spaces that the people from the class before you vacate. If you come too early, you won't find any parking. The gym itself is small and no frills. They have towels and water bottles, but I didn't see a water machine to refill your own water. Also they provide little cubbies in the main workout room so you won't have to worry about your stuff. My suggestion: For beginners, you should start on the floor and pick a spot in the middle row so you can see all the pros in front of you but also not feel pressure to be perfect. You'll also get a treadmill by the front door so you can go out and get a new towel (or air) without walking past everyone. All in all, I can't wait to do Barry's again and this location in particular was great.

What a great workout..this is the way it should be done....efficient,intense,and fun. Alex is such…read morea pro,and a gifted trainer.He assessed my fitness level quickly and had me working to my limit within a half hour. I felt the difference of that kind of short-burst of all-out exercise made...I am so motivated to get to the next level and to see what it does. Alex passionately believes in this system and now I am convinced. I am a 56-year-old woman,in fairly good shape(level 9.1) but want to be at Level 10 soon to lose that bit of extra fat I don't want. Alex showed me exactly what i need to do to get there,which makes it more attainable . Like having a road map before going on a trip. This is the way. I wont' be able to do it in the East Hampton studio, but will take it to the hilly streets of San Francisco using the online support. Alex has thought of everything. I've been on a mission to try every business on the main strip of East Quogue, so Nomad East was…read morethe next one up. I walked in on a Monday morning to find the two owners finishing up with personal clients. The space has a ton of equipment, neatly organized. Every size weight you could want, rowing machines, and even a small sauna in the back. Both owners were extremely welcoming and explained the set up of the class. I learned that I was there for leg day, and that there was just one other person joining this class. That one other person was a tall man who was extremely in shape. I am in a shape (but that shape is round), so I became concerned about what type of class could possibly accommodate both of our very different fitness levels. I'm not going to lie, I saw God in this class -- as in there were many moments where I felt like I might die, that I could not possibly row another row or squat another squat. I could barely breathe and perform these movements at the same time, yet the instructor and the other class participant were able to chat as if these reps were no big deal at all. The instructor was good about checking in with me on my form and switching out weights when they were too heavy. The class ended in a push alternating between a 500 meter row on the rowing machines and some weighted movements. I could not walk for three days after this class. If you're looking to get your a$$ whipped back into shape, this place will do it. The classes are a bit out of my personal price range to be able to come back on a regular basis at this time ($65 per class - $60 per class if you buy a 10 pack), but if I come into some money I'd come back.

The gym was moving away from coaching gymnastics and more like babysitting while teaching basic gymnastics. There was a team there, I helped coach it. I worked there full time from, 2003 to 2024. Sad to see it turn out the way it is. If you want gymnastics go to gym nation or gold medal, hampton gymnastics is good too. I don't recommend FFG.
