Omg this has to be one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had!!!! The squash pancakes were to die for and it's been a bit since I went and I haven't stopped thinking about it. We had a delicious late lunch here. Aside from food, they also have wine, beer, meats and some pantry staples. You order at the counter and I wanted to try the chopped cheese (ground beef, onions, pepperoncini and melted cheese), my husband got the fried chicken sandwich and we shared fries. Our food came out pretty fast and we devoured everything. If you need condiments or silverware, those are self serve. They also have coffee but not sure when they stop serving. I have no words for this place! What a hidden gem! I never realized it was here, and it was so good! I met up her with some friends on a Saturday for lunch and it wasn't too busy which was great. They have a lovely patio and the staff was super nice. I ended up getting the brisket egg and cheese sandwich with some fries. Well honestly I only got the sandwich first but I tried someone else's fries and had to get my own because they were so good!!! and the brisket? stunning. Pure Quill Superette might look like a corner grocery with a side of nostalgia, but it's also a legit breakfast and lunch stop that takes its food seriously. You walk in and immediately see local produce lined up like a farmers market fridge section, with bright peppers, greens, and a single butternut squash standing proud like the store mascot. The walls are covered with old-school cigarette ads and retro posters, and a chandelier casually hangs from the ceiling like it knows it doesn't belong here but refuses to leave. The steak and eggs were a solid 4/5. The steak had flavor and a nice sear, though at $21 it should've maybe come with a motivational quote too. The fries were the real MVP. I don't know what kind of oil or seasoning they use, but those fries deserve their own menu slot and maybe a fan club. The fried chicken looked like a single, glorious thigh that jumped straight out of a cast-iron skillet and into my container. The crust was beautifully crisp with real crunch, though it was greasy enough to leave a print on the lid. Worth every calorie. Also a 4/5 because sometimes perfection comes with a little shine. There's seating inside on the opposite side of the store and outside seating for a more laid-back vibe. You get fresh air, your food in a compostable box, and probably overhear someone talking about sourcing local greens. The "Snail of Approval" award hanging up front seals it. These folks care about food the right way. If you like places that feel like a blend of diner, grocery, and small-town charm, this spot hits the mark. What a cute place! You order at the counter. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Fresh meat and produce from local farmers are available to purchase as well. I got the breakfast hash which was amazing. Egg tomato and sausage on a bed of hash browns. The Della Rella sandwich with meat, mozzarella cheese and pesto on fresh ciabatta bread. Super fun, ultra old school restaurant reminiscent of a 50's Woolworth Diner. Sandwiches to choose include hot ham and cheese, egg salad, and an amazing fish sandwich. Portions are huge so come hungry. Authentic down to the plates and serving dishes. Some of the best collards we've ever had and the potato salad was good as well. Giant fried pickle spears are so tasty and plenty to share. You order when you walk in and it's best if you do so efficiently, as the line is dependent on folks moving on through. Service is table side and fairly quick. There are tables inside but we enjoyed the patio, complete with some cute pooches. Such a fun vibe in East Atlanta. This place is so fun! We loved the hoe cake but thought the breakfast sandwich was just okay. Also appreciate that they serve brunch until 3 pm on weekends. Service was friendly and very quick. I just got the dumbest cup of coffee at this place. I asked for a large café au lai -- just coffee and milk. "We only have one size," she says. Fine--thinking it's going to be twelve ounces or whatever. I tap, pay $5, tip, wait...and then I get this tiny shot of coffee. There is literally a kid on the cup. For comparison, the tall cup is a large from Revolution that cost the same. I'm sorry Superette--you're not in Italy. You're on Memorial Drive. Congrats another "Atlanta favorite" disappoints. I knew as I pulled up and saw 1 car in the parking lot and 1 table being occupied that there couldn't be many thrills to experience. Against my better judgement I told myself give them the chance to show their value. As I went in, the door hadn't even closed behind me, the guy at the register asked "what can I get for you today". Which I cocked my head in confusing and asked if I could have at least a second to view the menu. He seemed in a rush as if there was a line which again the place was empty. I opted for the fried chicken (drums) because who doesn't like good fried chicken. I sit down and about 10-15 mins the order comes up. Immediately the chicken looked pretty dark and over fried, but looks could be deceiving. I tasted a few friends and there was zero salt/seasoning in them at all. So I grab the salt and seasoning them. I asked for honey and the cashier guy said "oh we're out of that"... ok it's a store I guess grabbing some off the shelf for your restaurant is not an option. Anyway I taste the chicken and my mind is blown. It takes like pure burnt flour. Not a lick of seasoning and the chicken taste as if it was cooked at too high of a temp in potentially dirty oil that had burnt bits in it tainting the entire fryer. I tried to add some salt but the bitterness was just too much. It came with ranch which was pretty much white water and that was quickly pushed to the side. I approached the counter with the food and he asked "what's the issue" I explained the problem and he said " sometimes you swing for the fences and miss I guess but looks fine to me" At which point we moved forward with a refund and I declined ordering anything else. I've had luck ordering sandwiches but this place has its quirks. Just know currently by 3p half their menu will be unavailable. They messed up my girlfriend's order both times. This time what they call chili cheese fries are an embarrassment. It's ground beef, shreds of white cheese and the fries are stale although I waited 10-15 mins. See pic. The salad was dry and was supposed to have some type of vinaigrette. So 0/2 for my girlfriend's order we won't be back. Very unassuming place gives a vibe of country store that serves delicious done right food. Came here late so the place was quiet. Host greeted people as they walked in, she also served as the server and cashier. Our order was taken in the front. Ordered cod royale sandwich and club sandwich. Our food was served without long wait. Food was really good. Fries were delicious salted right which can be misleading as to how it looked. Food was really good! I've passed this place a couple times and said I would stop in- I'm glad I did! The building is really cute, the inside is welcoming, and the guy who took my order was friendly. My only thing is I wish there was a little more intention with the patio area, because it is a really great space! Remove the clutter, have a plate drop off area, etc. My pup is always with me and patio areas are big for us!
