Oh babyyy, I am a new fan. I see what all the hype is about! I visited Necessary Purveyor on recommendation from my teammate, Sierra, as we planned lunch for two. As soon as she dropped their name, it was an immediate yes for me. I have heard, seen and read so many great things about the food and service, it was about time that I visited. Located at Ponce City Market, finding the restaurant is incredibly easy and there's lot and street parking all over. We visited on a weekday afternoon and I snagged a parking spot easily, and strolled right in. Necessary Purveyor is beautiful! It reminded me of a little French bistro. There are a number of tables all over and it's seat-yourself style. I grabbed a table as I waited for Sierra and took some time to look around. I love that they have fridges setup that have wine, beer, different sodas and juices, picnic needs and even some of their chicken salad and pastas to go. So many options! To order, guests must line up and order at the register and then your food is brought to your table. When I first entered, there were a number of parties sitting down but there was still space. As noon rolled around, it got thick in there! I could tell that the lunch rush was on and wow, did Necessary Purveyor get hit. But the team handled everyone so smoothly, the guests were patient and were rewarded by a swift ordering process. For lunch, Sierra went in knowing that she wanted their chicken salad as she said it was her favorite. I opted for the Mexican wrap and that bad boy was huge! All of the wraps that I saw coming out were massive. I'll definitely be back for a chicken caesar wrap! I loved that we could see all of the food being prepared behind the glass. We loved this place so much, we stopped twice in a weekend!! Great menu, fresh ingredients, pastries, various items for purchase in coolers. The highlight??? The people. Everyone was so welcoming and full of positivity, we left with a smile on faces. 1st trip we shared lobster roll with shoe string fries. Truffle ranch for the win here. I had a matcha latte with strawberry, and my friend had a salted caramel latte. Hers may have been the best salted caramel I've had. Mine was also very good. That said, they are very pricy, for the same standard size. The cafe is nice and airy, with lots of windows, upscale casual. The service was friendly, drinks were prompt, though I note it was not very busy during the last afternoon. read more

Came on a weekend and it was definitely busy! The ordering process took a very long time! The line is long and getting your order is confusing. The coffee to the side doesn't even have a ticket system. They just say your name and leave it on the table but it got a little confusing if you share a name w someone or if you didn't see which drink they put down lol. I want the correct order if I'm paying $10 for a latte! We also got a breakfast plate and it was $18 and mediocre. The Rockos cutlet chicken was fried and pretty tender but the bread was a little dry. The service wasn't too friendly either, I tried to get a to go box and they just pointed in the direction of the line when the boxes were right in front of them. Stopped by Necessary Purveyor recently and was really impressed. This newer addition to Ponce City Market seems to have found a great groove--what started with more of a fine-dining approach has clearly evolved into something more customer-driven and approachable. The vibe and energy are great. There's always a steady flow of people, but it never feels overly crowded - just the right amount of buzz. It works for just about anything: casual coffee/matcha (ceremonial grade!), breakfast, lunch, drinks, a date, meeting with parents, or even a quick business bite. The bar also has a TV, which is nice for sports fans. Big fan of the grab-and-go market section too - perfect for quick, healthier bites before you head out or for a stroll on the beltline. Service was impressively fast. We tried the Cobb salad, steak sandwich, and short rib hash. The steak sandwich was outstanding and easily the standout of the meal, and hash a close second. Stopped by for happy hour and had a great experience. The bartender was friendly and attentive, which always makes a difference. We ordered the fries, which were delicious as always and never disappoint. We also tried the tuna tartare--it was okay, just not our favorite item on the menu. One of the highlights was the drink dispenser, which was fun and tasted great. It's only available during happy hour, so definitely worth checking out. I went to Necessary Purveyor for the first time a few weeks ago, and I had the most lovely experience. It was so good that went back last week. It's such a cute and quaint restaurant. The service was great. Everyone was really patient and kind. The parking wasn't bad. I just parked in the pickup/drop off spots in front of the Scout entrance (I did order online lol!). The food was soo tasty! I ordered the basic breakfast plate both times--bacon, avocado, sourdough toast, eggs, potatoes, and a few slices of tomato. Very simple, but it was done well, which made all the difference. I can't wait to go back, and I'd highly recommend! read more

Great strawberry matcha! Got it three mornings in a row. Woke me up and tasted just right in terms of sweetness level. Also really liked the bacon egg cheese bagel and the avocado toast. They make it on a sourdough bread which is sooo soft and fluffy. The one disappointing breakfast item I tried was the lox bagel. The lox was really overpowering and a bit too fishy - not sure what brand they use. Service was fast and nice! There's a good handful of tables inside, of varying sizes. Came in for brunch this past weekend and loved it. This spot is super cute and a great spot for a nice weekend brunch. Their lunch menu also looked really good - some good looking sandwich options. For brunch, we got the bacon egg and cheese biscuit and the pancakes. The biscuit sandwich was so good! The biscuit itself was delicious. The pancakes were yummy too. This is an amazing new spot to pop into at Ponce City Market!! Not only do they have amazing delicious coffee and pastries, but they also have a full brunch, lunch and dinner menu. Came here when visiting the Old Fourth Ward area of downtown Atlanta. So glad this place was recommended! This is counter service and you order when you walk in, grab a number and your food is delivered by a SUPER friendly staff member. There is a cooler where there are some quick grab and drink options. We ordered the steak sandwich, the Philly cheesesteak and a BLT. ALL were excellent!! Each sandwich was served on ciabatta style bread which sometimes can be a little hard and crusty. These were not! Soft and delicious. These sandwiches were stuffed and I have to say my favorites were the BLT and the Philly. Thank goodness we are a sharing family! Plenty for now and definitely needed boxes for later. Fantastic meal! Served with pencil thin cut French Fries and a side of ketchup. The staff here are super friendly, and there was a slight mishap right next to us involving some broken dishes. The server who slipped could not have been nicer and apologetic. She checked back on us several times. The restaurant has super high ceilings and it was quite lively and busy in there. It was a bit loud, but the food and service well over shadowed any problem with the noise. We had a great time, a quick lunch and full bellies!! This place has been all over social media lately for their yummy sandwiches and good offering. I can't attest to that because we only stopped here for coffee. I'm trying to cut down on caffeine and unfortunately, they do not offer decaf espresso. The staff suggested I get one shot of espresso instead of two in my latte, so I did just that with lavender syrup. It was definitely on the sweet side and was decent. I hate to leave a negative review, but I genuinely don't understand the hype around this place. Coming from Miami, where great cafés are everywhere, I was excited to try the Caesar wrap after seeing it recommended on TikTok. The portion size was generous, which is why I'm giving 2 stars, but the flavor was pretty average and didn't justify the price. The biggest disappointment was the matcha. For an $8 drink, it tasted mostly like milk with very little matcha flavor. We politely asked if a bit more matcha could be added, and the response we received from the employee was surprisingly unfriendly. To make matters worse, the matcha wasn't freshly prepared or whisked, it appeared to come pre-mixed from a squeeze bottle, which felt disappointing given the price point. Overall, I don't think this café lives up to the hype. The portions are decent, but the quality, service, and value just weren't there for me. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return. read more

It's a nice casual ambiance. I was just in the neighborhood and wanted to stop in to check out this new business. There is a bar and there's also tables.You order your food and then you sit. the-line for just coffee's or pastries is separate from where you would order food. I ordered a latte - $7. If you want to add any sweetener, even if it's just simple syrup 1dollar. I went ahead and just got salted caramel to make my money's worth. There's one bathroom in the lobby of scout living. It's a gender-neutral bathroom, but there's just one. it's really nice. Have great products and great décor. I definitely would like to come back here and try some of their food. read more

Service, though, left something to be desired. I'm big on customer experience, and sometimes all it takes is a simple "hello" to set the tone. Here, the staff felt more reserved, which made the atmosphere feel a little flat. The main reason I came, though, was for the coffee. BigFace Coffee founded by NBA star Jimmy Butler has been on my radar, and I had to see what the hype was about. I ordered my usual vanilla oat latte. The roast itself was impressive: smooth, with a perfect shot that wasn't too bitter or sour. The flavor leaned a little sweet, but it still allowed the espresso to shine through. Beyond coffee, the menu extends to handcrafted sandwiches, pastries, and even a full bar, so there's something for everyone. Overall, my experience was good but not great. The coffee lived up to the reputation, the space was beautifully designed, but the customer service kept it from being as memorable as it could have been. Cute place in a good location. But after walking in and reviewing the refrigerated food and baked goods case, we walked out a bit disappointed and dismayed. Anyone with a Costco membership can see that many of the items are from Costco. The crème brûlée Costco sells in a six pack for $6.99 is sold at NP for $7.00 per serving. That would be $42 for something they paid $6.99 for. I'd happily pay $7.00 or more for scratch made! Cheese snack packs and charcuterie both from Costco and sold at NP for 500 times the actual cost. Same situation with the baked goods. They market themselves as an elevated food establishment but are actually just re-selling Costco food at an exorbitant cost to the consumer. To be fair, I did not try any of their food cooked in their kitchen. So I can't attest to its taste or quality because after seeing the Costco offerings i was completely turned off. read more

Food is excellent (5 stars), but service is trying to catch up. Despite friendly vibe and apparent effort, coffee bar is confusing and takes much longer than it should. I had the Short Rib & Fontina sandwich that has been the rage of food critics lately and it absolutely did not disappoint. The short rib melts in your mouth. Look? Excuse me? Really wish if she was unsure she would have been stern and not allow me to make adjustments and I wouldn't have been so irritated. This place is a gem. Been in Georgia for business for a few weeks and I'm here almost every morning. The staff is warm and welcoming and the store is beautiful. You can either dine in or choose a great selection of grab and go quality food from the cooler, great option for those who are on long stays or working late. Ownership/ Management is hospitality driven and it is %1000 visible in the staff. Jordan and Tyler will take the time to make you feel welcome and Chris and Mel at the cashier area will remember your name and make you feel like your at home every time. Blown away.
