It's really a special treat to see beautiful arts hanging on the wall of a local Bamboo Hair + Body. The location is convenient, right off Main Street of down town Half Moon Bay. I love the vibrant colors of her paintings. My photos do not reflect how unbelievable her creativity and her color work of her arts. I highly recommend to come and see her paintings with your own eyes. I appreciate her nature capture in still arts. I feel happy and inspired looking at her beautiful bright colorful paintings. Her creation is unique, special and rare! Her arts, especially those with the hummingbirds inspire me to love, to hope, and to be happy and creative. When arriving we parked right by the entrance in the back and walked right in. Was greeted immediately and taken care of. Love the kindness of the ladies at the front and service was very fast. Filled out some paperwork and got right to it. Liliana who was servicing me for the day was a sweetheart from start to finish. She made me feel so comfortable and just knew her magic! I left the place just so relaxed and calm. I will definitely be returning back here for another service. It's very cozy and I love how it was very quiet and they did everything as I expected. Asked for highlights and a dramatic shift lighter. Left with nearly same color as before (my daughter did not even notice a change when I picked her up). Went with a picture and we fully discussed beforehand. 3. One stylist who was helping iron for the Brazilian blowout was pulling so hard I could feel hairs breaking as he was working. There are so many broken hairs sticking straight up now I look like I got electrocuted. 4. Asked for some face framing pieces and they are so choppy and unblended. 5. With my requests at time of booking (cut, highlights, and a smoothing treatment), I would have hoped to be scheduled with someone with a bit more experience. To her credit, owner offered to fix color in a couple weeks but so much went wrong this first trip I thanked her and told her we are not a good fit. Would not recommend for cut, highlights or smoothing treatments. UPDATE: a few hours later I noticed dye/toner was left on my ear. Picture is after I had already wiped some off. UPDATE 2: For $800, I am glad I gave the salon a learning experience. SMH.

When I say that I don't trust anyone else with my skin, I absolutely mean it. Walking into Skin Revival is an absolute treat. It's beautifully decorated in muted tones so that you feel like you've stepped into a tranquil retreat away from everything. There's fun but soft music playing, the room is spacious and cozy, and the bed is always warm and comfortable which is a must for relaxation! I have severe acne prone skin that requires I come in once a month to get a facial. Over the years, I trust Lizzy to do whatever treatment is needed for my skin to get back into shape. Without a doubt, it always works in helping my skin feel so much better and I have noticed if I don't come for a month, it negatively effects my face where I start getting painful breakouts. Lizzy is a fantastic esthetician. She is super gentle for all her treatments from washing my face to extractions. She always ensures that I am aware of what she is doing especially when certain products tingle. And all of the products she uses smell incredible. She is also hilarious, kind, and really patient. If all of this hasn't convinced you to visit Skin Revival, then I have more things for you. She never pushes to upsell you for any products. She does however have incredible products that she sells and are extremely high quality because she believes that our skin deserves the best. She will work with you if you contact her whenever you have any questions about skincare or postcare treatment. I cannot recommend coming to her enough. There's ample parking and it's a such a short walk to the beach that if you arrive early, you can make a quick stop to begin the relaxation!

First of all, her products are sensational - her own line is amazing (the sulphur toner, vit c and green tea serums are all staples for me) and the products she uses in her treatments outside of her own line are all high quality. I always find this to be what sets beauty experts apart - products!! And knowing what to use on who! Lizzy nails both. Also, she uses these devices that you won't get during a typical facial. High frequency, cryo therapy, the best LED light therapy available (I know bc I researched it before I even started seeing Lizzy), etc. She does the most gentle extractions, but will go for something stubborn if needed without causing stress to the skin. Pretty sure my first facial I told her about this bump under my skin on my cheek that had been there for months and she just said "oh, I'll get it". And she did! She's well versed on what's pregnancy safe. My skin just looks noticeably improved as soon as I leave a facial with Lizzy. Oh! Let's not forget the space she's created. Her little boutique spa is a little slice of heaven. So peaceful and zen. CLEAN! Her playlists are always on point. Everything about the space is just so effortless. Which brings me to my final point - Lizzy herself. What a bad ass human being. Kind and funny and makes you feel so comfortable. I'm a massive fan.

We were able to open our sliding door all night to enjoy the fresh air, and sea sounds. We received a nice touch with a nice note to say "Happy Anniversary!" with a bottle of wine, Hess Cab. Thanks Veronica or Victoria! Our room was very clean and it was impeccably clean. The sea decor was nice touch to the room. I loved the Aveda products to complement the experience which was nice. The front of house staff were very nice and welcoming and answered all our questions. Now on to the less desirable part of our experience..... As we decided at the end night to grab a cocktail to take back to the room, this is where it went bad! To provide the full picture, there were 3 ppl at the bar, enjoying their drinks. One table in the far back that a server was helping. I asked for a mojito only to be greeted with, "ya that's not gonna happen! We don't make those here!" A simple, "I'm so sorry unfortunately we do not have the ingredients to make those here as we have a limited ingredient list." Would have been appropriate. A smart mouth comment does not elude customer service. If you don't like to work in the industry, find a new job!! Our drinks were subpar, and a lesson in customer service could go a long way. I would start with the basics. Even simply asking my husband if he would like to upgrade his spirit in his cocktail vs just quickly pouring and slamming a drink down. I strongly recommend your team reading "Unreasonable Hospitality!" It may make you think about how you made a lasting impression. For me it made me feel like I never want to come back. And, yes, I work in the hospitality industry so this was unacceptable! Do better! This is how one bad experience can make the lasting impression! UPDATE 7/29 I want to call out the Hotel Manager, Cecilio Reyes, for his "Unreasonable Hospitality"! He called me immediately to better understand the feedback that was provided. He went out of his way to pick up the phone and listen to what I had to say. This means more to me than a $10 drink at the bar. This in fact it shows that they truly about doing the right thing to ensure they keep a customer. You have no idea how this small act sends a message to your guests. I hope your leadership sees this to see how you truly elude unreasonable hospitality and ensuring that your customers return. My issue was not for anything other than. ensuring that others learn from the impact it could have on someone. Thank you, Cecilio Reyes, for your professionalism and attention to this situation that is now taken as a learning opportunity. As I have been coming to my monthly spa appointments, each appointment was a slightly different face and neck treatment. And I really appreciated Joy using different techniques and also the package was really worth it because she used different devices on my face, hands, and neck and I felt that because of those devices that hit different types of treatments really improved the quality of my skin. Also, the spa products that Joy used on my skin smells so fresh and the ingredients are most likely better than the over the counter products that I purchase.
