Relaxation room before and after massage with complementary champagne!
    Anna L.

My husband and I were in Half Moon Bay for a long Valentine's Day weekend. We both had been wanting to get a massage for a while. What better way to treat ourselves than a couples massage! From the moment we walked in, it was such a relaxing experience. The lovely woman at the front desk checked us in, took us back to the relaxation room and invited us to enjoy some citrus infused water while filling out the required questionnaire. After a short while, our masseuses, Jira (mine) and Kari (my husband's), came in to greet us, confirm the types of massage we wanted (Swedish for my husband and Vida - combo hot stone and Swedish - for me). My husband was very happy with his massage. During my massage Jira made sure the touch was right and I was comfortable. I was also quite happy with my massage. Sixty minutes went way to fast, but we were both so relaxed at the end. Honestly, neither of us wanted to get up and dressed. We were led back to the relaxation room to enjoy a champagne and Kir Royale before having to go. Perfect ending to a perfect spa treatment! The Oceano Coastal Spa is very clean and beautiful. The oils and lotions they use smell wonderful. The music just relaxes you even more. While the price for the massage is higher than we would have paid in VA, it was well worth it. Kudos to both Jira and Kira for providing the best relaxing experience! We will return when we return to Half Moon Bay!

Ahhhhhhhhmazing. Such a relaxing perfect experience. I seriously was so relaxed I didn't move for the next 6 hours after my massage! My technician was very patient as I seriously did'nt know what kinda massage I wanted. On this visit I got a 90 min swedish massage! If your in the area looking for a quality place don't skip out on this spot!

This is my second time here and it was as relaxing as the first time. I came here with two others and we took advantage of the monthly special for the Royal Treatment. This treatment included a 30 min soak in a salt and rose petal bath, a body scrub and a detox wrap, a facial and an hour massage. When we walked in, we were greeted by the receptionists and she brought us into the waiting room where the ambiance was calming and we were offered tea and fancy fruit water. Then the masseuse came, greeted and brought us into our individual rooms. The room was clean and dimly lit. I was able to control the music and the lighting in the room to my liking. My masseuse was Carmina and she was very gentle with the facial and massage. And I was very happy with the whole treatment. If you are looking for a luxurious spa experience at a reasonable price in Half Moon Bay, this is the place to go.

This place was amazing! The staff were very calm, kind and made us feel right at ease. They have an adorable lounge where you come in and fill out a brief questionnaire so they know of any medical conditions or allergies to be wary of. Then they take you into the room where you will have your treatments (great decor and music!) Ours were amazing -- make sure you try the tea bath and hot stone couples massage! The ladies walked us through everything beforehand and let us relax on our own in the bath. We came out feeling nice and warm and relaxed. The oils and salts in the bath made my skin feel so nice and soft. Then they let us know it was time to slip under the covers on the massage table and gave us a few minutes before they came in. It was the first time I had a hot stone massage and it will not be the last =] My masseuse was very attentive and checked in every once in a while to make sure the pressure and heat she was using were alright. It was my first time at a spa so this may not be very objective, but I really felt like everything was perfect. The decor, scents and music were very relaxing, the staff very professional, kind, relaxed and attentive... Take a stroll around the small shops next to the spa afterwards and try some taffy!

The bathroom was dirty and disappointing. The jacuzzi tub was filled with hairs from previous tenants - the jets had a brown build up in them that came off with my disinfecting wipes. The filter for the tub was filled with trapped hairs . The shower caulking was falling down like a shoe lace and brownish. The outside baseboard was BLACK ! It appeared to be attempted white paint over it The window in the bathroom we opened for air was filled with large piles of dead roasted looking bugs . I send over the pix - I was given a partial refund and told the building was aged and working on renovations - also told the housekeeping failed to clean the bathroom area. I was extremely disappointed- was told someone from management would call - they did not. Very disappointing- I saw the black baseboard when I came a month prior - made a comment about it- was assured it was being taken care of - bit white paint is not the way to cover up mold My event was amazing though- food was good and event room was clean! Taylor Lobb was amazing!!!! Love her- she's the best! Did everything I needed - communication was great- I recommend using them for spa and events !!!

5/5 - Absolute Perfection for My First Head Spa Experience!…read more I just had my first-ever head spa experience, and I cannot recommend this place enough! I opted for the Full Detox treatment, and it was worth every penny. Here is why this place is a hidden gem: 1. Tailored & Educated Approach: I wanted to learn more about my hair loss, and the staff truly listened to my concerns. They took the time to educate me, explain every product, and give me a realistic guidance plan that I am absolutely going to use. (That said, if you just want to zone out and relax, I'm certain they'd accommodate that too!) 2. Next-Level Relaxation: The service was so incredible and luxurious that I kept falling asleep. They pay attention to the tiniest details, like asking if I wanted my feet covered and providing a perfectly weighted blanket. 3. Private & Cozy Atmosphere: It's a smaller space, but they utilize it beautifully. When a second customer arrived, they seamlessly transitioned us into separate rooms so the experience still felt entirely private and exclusive. 4. Zero Pressure: The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Best of all? They did not try to oversell me on products. The pricing felt completely reasonable and fair for the high quality of service I received. If you're on the fence about booking, just do it. You'll leave feeling relaxed, educated, and pampered!

I booked the 9am and got there about 8:25, which gave me time to get oriented/tour facility and do a soak to prep. The reviews were accurate. I glad I was solo, made it easier being comfortable being nude. Lots of amenities to glam up before leaving. It was calm and quiet when I arrived, and got busier as I was leaving. Staff was great, and made me feel comfortable and welcomed. They explained everything and answered questions with a smile. The place was super clean and staff actively removed used towels/swept throughout my stay. A good scrub, felt like a symboloc ritual for shedding the old for the new. I now have baby soft skin!

Actual rating: 3 1/2 stars…read more Women only spa by appointment only. Day passes available but only the day of if there happen to be cancellations. Otherwise, you'll need to book a service at least a month in advance. It's situated in Japantown. If you're driving, I recommend parking in the garage as street parking is either by permit and limited to two hours. They kindly pushed our scrub time to later since one of our party members was running a bit behind. This is the first Korean place I've been to where they requested you come an hour earlier versus thirty minutes. Seemed like a long time to soak. There's also no clock inside the actual bathing area, so difficult to keep track of time. Also, first time going to a Korean spa where they want it to be absolutely silent. I get that they are going for a relaxed environment, but kind of difficult to just soak for an hour and not chit chat amongst ourselves. The shower/soaking area is on the smaller side and for some reason, they didn't have any stools for the sitting bathing areas available. There's one hot tub, one ice tub, a dry sauna, and steam sauna. This would have been more of a three-star experience for me if not for the scrub. My ahjumma, Lee, was great; very attentive and did a very thorough job! Not mentioned in the list of services, but they also wash your hair and face as well as part of the thirty-minute scrub. After our scrub, we headed upstairs to try out the Himalayan salt room and the red clay room. They had staff cleaning throughout so they definitely take cleanliness seriously. Locker room area has lots of Aveda product toiletries and blow dryers available for after. As we were leaving, they gave a face and eye mask which was much appreciated. I can see this being a go-to place if you live in the city, especially if you prioritize relaxation and cleanliness. Just be sure to make an appointment ahead of time.
