When scheduling my appointment, I wrote a comment stating that I was unable to receive the type of facial I wanted due to my work schedule. So I scheduled a different one instead. Not expecting much, within hours she was nice enough to switch the facial I booked into the one I wanted. Right off the bat impressed. When the time came to receive my facial, not only was it incredibly pleasant and relaxing. Jennifer is superbly knowledgeable in her field and was able to answer all my questions! Jen is truly awesome! I've had many facials at many spots, in and out of Anchorage, and the one that I got at Pure Skincare was top notch. When you arrive, you're led to a room that is comforting and relaxing. When the facial starts, you're introduced to pure bliss. Jen went thru some options but I basically left it up to her. She explained everything that she was doing very well. Not only did it feel great during the facial but I cannot remember my skin looking so good after any of the others. Beautiful location, great staff, and free parking! I came here after a bad haircut at Escape made not want to bring my business there (though I have always had great facial and waxing experiences going to Natasha at Chez Ritz/Escape), and ended up getting a facial as well. When I called to make an appointment, staff was helpful and willing to tailor services to what I was looking for. I love my short little breaks from work to visit Jen at Pure! In the loft of an old house on 6th Avenue, her spa is light, airy and so comfy. I wish I could bring a friend to have a cup of tea in her sitting room! She takes a great deal of care selecting her products and cosmetics. I see her for waxing and have sensitive skin that borders on too dry (sorry for the TMI :) but I have never had a problem with her products and feel that my skin looks and feels better. Jen is also one of the most friendly and welcoming aestheticians I've seen. Her prices are reasonable and she offers free parking behind the building. Oh, and there's a heated blanket on the table... divine. Especially in the winter. read more

This was my second visit and I was greeted by name and immediately made to feel welcome. Jen acknowledged the facial I wanted and suggested something different and it was bliss. We wound up having mutual friends so we chatted a bit but it in no way detracted from the facial at all! Usually I like the calm quiet of spa services but she was so pleasant to talk to, I feel like I probably led the conversation. My skin being the problem child it is, I hate to show my tattered face in public but she was solution oriented and gave me tons of advice and suggestions while pampering me. Horrible customer service. I went and had some pre-beach vacation waxing done and laid down a hefty chunk of change to do so. When I got home, I had some rather large patches left behind, in spite of having 5 weeks growth prior to my appointment. Normally I go the day before vacation, but due to work, I went three days prior to departure. I ended up having to shave before we left just to wear a dress on the plane! I didn't have time before I left to contact the owner/aesthetician, so I emailed her when I got back. I had been there before, so I suggested maybe it was an off day or their lights needed new bulbs. She more or less came up with a few different ways it was my fault, although she did offer a gift card or refund. I emailed her my mailing address and saw neither. Not even a returned email. Complete waste of money. Don't go! Especially before a vacation where you didn't plan to pack razors. read more

Jen is phenomenal. Her spa is so relaxing and cozy, I could stay there all day. She is very professional and personable, I love our appointments and the chance to relax and chat. I see her for waxing services and eye lash extensions. She is the best in town. She has tons of experience and is extremely good at her job.
