I'm from Cincinnati and am always looking for GF/DF bakeries around the area that I can try (since I have a love for sweets but have the GF/DF limitation). So when I found Purely Sweet Bakery on Instagram, I was super excited and wanted to try them the next time I was in the Dayton area. Since I don't live close by, I ended up buying everything that was GF/DF. I wasn't sure how long they had been sitting out, but I found majority of the items to be dry. Good flavor, but dry. I've had cookies and bars other places near me that are GF/DF and not dry...the only difference I can think of is that I was able to get those items fresh, whereas with these being on the shelf, maybe was the difference. Or maybe the cookies were meant to be a crunchy cookie. Chocolate Chip Cookies - good flavor, crumbly Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies - good flavor, crumbly Oatmeal Cream Pie - dry and too sweet for me Buckeye Donut - delightful flavor, very dense and a lot of icing, but I know that kept it on the moist side. Cinnamon Roll - great flavor, but still dry on the inside even after heating it up per instruction. Sticky Bun - great flavor, but dry on the inside as well after heating up. 6 Layer Bar - too too sweet for me Salted Carmel Cookie Bar - too sweet for me What I'll probably do next time is order some of the items ahead of time and pick them up day of. All in all, I'm always a huge fan of bakeries that have allergen friendly items and create baked goods for us allergen peeps to partake in. I give a shout out of appreciation to you. My husband and I don't do dairy so it's fun to try new things when we find them. My husband loved the s'mores donut and I absolutely loved the cinnamon roll. I'll be back!! read more

I've only enjoyed Purely Sweet baked goods while at Coffee Hub in Beavercreek. My experience has been hit or miss. I've enjoyed gluten free vegan baked goods at a handful of other bakeries, and these are on the dry side in comparison. Their oatmeal cookie sandwich does have great flavor (although I wish it didn't have chocolate chips), and it's also very crumbly. I know it's possible to make an incredibly moist gluten free vegan oatmeal cookie sandwich, but that isn't the style you'll find here. I didn't like sticky bun at all. It was grainy and didn't have much flavor. We ordered a gluten free vegan cake from them once, and while the frosting was good the cake was much too dense and crumbly for our liking. It's a good place to pop in and grab a pack of gluten free cookies if we need them for an event. read more

This review is for the food truck I tried at a recent event. I met the owner who was so nice and passionate about her business. Apparently they had been doing more wholesale to Places such as Dorothy Lane Market and soon Jungle Jims. They are about to open a physical location which I can't wait for. But enough about that.. the goodies... they are seriously addictive. The paleo granola was something I could eat everyday. The flourless peanut butter brownie was seriously the best brownie I have ever had. It was gooey and perfect. The artistry on the cookie was soo good, thus far, its been too cute to eat! It's always great to find a bakery that is accommodating of special diets. Everything is gluten free here. Some thing a are vegan and some things are keto. They even have binders sitting out that list all of the ingredients they use. Personally, I do paleo. Unfortunately, the only paleo option was granola. I bought it simply to show a local a business some support in these crazy times. But I granola is something I make at home on a regular basis, so I don't plan a return visit at the moment (although it was delicious!). I love the idea of keto and have tried keto treats in the past. But I just can't stand the flavor of fake sugar and monk fruit. Here's to hoping they add to their paleo selection. I know that baking with honey and maple syrup can be expensive and challenging, but I'm a huge fan of coconut sugar which is so much more affordable. Please oh please consider that as an option! OR, you can hire me to be your paleo baker!! Lol :D read more

Finally another gluten free bakery option! And the best I have tried so far. So many options! Most place's gluten free options are usually dry, lack flavor and are expensive. Well not this bakery. It can be a bit hit or miss. Sometimes the cupcakes are so soft and tender....other times crumbly and overbaked lately. Also when I've tried to reach out to place specialty orders, the staff often sounds irritated. It seems like the only flavors I can order are chocolate or buckeye. read more
