The good: I lost 15% of my body weight during the 6 month program. I chose not to use ANY supplements or medications. I could have lost more with the meds for sure. I learned a ton about true healthy eating and healthier lifestyle. The coaches and groups were hugely helpful to me. My meal plan was pretty individualized, although I did provide a list of foods I don't tolerate and many of them were included so I don't think they really built it "just for me". You get flexibility for food substitutions so it was workable. Flex spending and HSA accounts can usually be used to help cover the costs. I liked that it was fully remote and had a decent amount of flexibility. The bad: The cost is prohibitively high. I see why it's so much with all of the time involved- but over $4,000 was really tough to scrape together just for 6 months. 12 months after it ended, I have gained back about half of what I lost. I did OK at continuing most of it on my own for a while, but without the accountability- I keep slowly falling back to old habits. They offer extended programs but I am still paying off the initial costs so I couldn't swing that. I was VERY hungry during most of the program so it took some will power. I seemed to be the only person who felt that way though- which may have been because I was not on any meds and everyone else was? I spent less than an hour with the actual doctor during the whole program -most of which was getting me signed up. This was not a bad thing for me because the nutritionists and coaches gave me everything I needed. But including here because I know some people expect to be working directly with her, and that's not how it worked at all. 18 months later, I would have done it again knowing what I know now. Compared to any other diets- if you have the money to spend, I would say this is the way to go. Lastly, you have to put in the work. Lots of time for meal prepping, planning, food tracking, meetings at least weekly, etc. If you are ready to put time and effort into it, then it is a great resource. But don't expect to sign up and magically lose without effort. You still have to do all the things.

At that time, Nadia explained that I had the option of receiving a single dose of LipoLean (referred to as LipoLean Injection in the clinic handout), or pay extra to receive a double dose of LipoLean (referred to as Extreme Injection in clinic handout). After deliberating, I decided to purchase the Extreme Injection (double dose) and paid a total of $294.99 for a weight loss panel, a one-month supply of Phentermine, 4 Extreme Injections, and a LipoLean Injection and every Friday afterwards, I returned to the clinic to receive my weekly injection. Because I received the injections in-house, I didn't pay attention to the ml/cc administered by the clinician. On 11/11/22, I returned to Aurora Medical Weight Loss and purchased 3 months of the single dose injections of LipoLean (as opposed to the double dose injections of Extreme that I had purchased the previous month) and paid a total of $389.97. I also decided to administer the injections at home myself, instead of doing them in-house, and was given a one-month supply of LipoLean Injections (4 needles) to take home. It was at this point, that I discovered that each needle only contains 0.5 ml/cc of LipoLean which is only 1/2 of the compounding pharmacy's dosing protocol. According to numerous compounding pharmacies including Modern Medical and VPI, the dosing protocol for a single dose of LipoLean is 1 ml/cc and the dosing protocol for a double dose of LipoLean is 2 ml/cc. Even more alarming, patients are required to pay extra to receive the Extreme injection which is supposed to be a double dose of LipoLean equal to 2 ml/cc, but they are only receiving 1 ml/cc. By only giving patients 1/2 of the Lipolean product they paid for, Aurora Medical Weight Loss is doubling their profits, stretching their product, decreasing each patient's weight loss per week, increasing the amount of time it takes each patient to lose weight, and keeping these people as paying customers for a longer period of time than they would need if they received a full dose. This is not only an unethical practice but may also be a form of medical racism. I have requested a refund of the amounts paid so that I may seek treatment elsewhere and am being ignored. I am planning to report this clinic to the Department of Regulatory Agencies and alert the media if I have not received a response by December 2nd.
