This place is 40 minutes of Bliss! You arrive, are greeted by a pleasant person and your room is always ready. Go in and follow the simple steps take your timer into the sauna with you and 40 minutes of relaxing sweating takes place. Towels, wipes and a cold face cloth are provided along with other amenities that I have yet to use. There is a choice between a single or 2 person booth and it's always a zen moment for me to listen to music in my headphones while the outside world is shut out (this is a quiet place no loud noises.) I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a way to take a time out of their busy schedule and release stress and toxins out of their system. read more

I love infrared saunas but I don't get to use them very often. So when I finally get a chance to use one I get really excited and have pretty high expectations. I set up an appointment at Purify online (very easy), found parking in their attached lot (several open spaces), and glided right into my super hot solo sauna. It was very clean and the saunas looked well maintained. They provided a wrap towel with elastic (complete with adjustable snaps for different sizes of people), a sweat hand towel, and a cold towel to use after the session. They had several noise machines going which I appreciated because I didn't really want to hear other people talking (there are one person and two person saunas). I felt blissfully alone with my book and water! I also liked that they have small timers you bring into the sauna with you. Some places I've visited have a had big countdown clocks on the wall and they always make me anxious. I prefer this little timer that I could turn over and disregard until it beeped my time was up. This picture of the pricing information is directly from Purify website. I've been a Fortune 50 business consultant for over 20 years. This "business owner" apparently doesn't understand how to use customer feedback to improve her business model. I advised you that your pricing is unreasonable and unsustainable from a customer's perspective. Highlighting you promotional pricing is a nice deflection and deception tactic. Promotional pricing is obviously good for the one time promotion. After the one time promotion, the customer is forced to pay your regular $35 per session price. Or, pay your "monthly membership prices" of $49 per month, $89 per month, $159 per month, or $199 per month. People can't even afford gas and food in this high inflation environment, but they should consider paying up to $199 per month for sitting in your sauna? Again, it doesn't matter to me what you do. I'll continue to get unlimited sauna services for $30 PER MONTH from my gym membership. Because real memberships should offer their members real value. Yelp readers can see the "value" of your membership pricing taken directly from your website. If you want more customers for your business, I would highly recommend you change your rip off pricing. read more

I've been to Purify twice now and I'm looking forward to going as much as possible. First, the owner and staff are super nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. The space is clean and you feel special. But second, and most important, I feel great after going to Purify! The low down... You are taken to a private room with your sauna where you are given a wrap (snap) body towel, an extra towel, and a cold washcloth. Once you undress to your comfort level, you enter the sauna for 40 minutes. You have a timer, but can leave early if you want. It's nice that the sauna is already on, so you don't have to worry about turning it on or off. There are color therapy lights you can turn to a certain color or leave off. I use to time to meditate and stretch. You'll start sweating pretty soon since it's around 135 degrees, but as someone mentioned, it's not a painful hot, it's relaxing. If you've tried it, think hot yoga without the humidity. Once you are done, you towel off, get dressed and leave. Be sure to bring water for during and fill up on your way out...you'll be thirsty on your way home. Cheers! read more

Now that I have been going for a few months I have to admit that this is one of my favorite places to go during the week to relax and get my life together. You would think that 140 degrees was too much to relax in but over time your body uses it as a great way to relax and detox. The facility itself clean and well maintained and the lovely souls that work there are as sweet as can be. This is a huge part of my self care regiment. read more

Came here to see what the buzz about this type of sauna was about; It's a dry heat. While photos may show up to three people in a box, I've done sessions with and without friends and found it's easier to tolerate alone--adding another human body somehow makes it feel hotter and talking above a whisper isn't encouraged--so beware bringing those friends who can't keep their voices low. Electronics, books, etc. don't hold up well in the heat, so bring cheap, wireless headphones, set a play list or audio book, and relax! Pro tip; Keep your water OUTSIDE the unit, because it will quickly warm up and become unhelpful! read more

Cool little place. 40 minutes in an infrared sauna. Thought I'd give it a go. They do a very nice job maintaining the facility. It was very clean. I enjoyed the relaxation time. I definitely left sweaty, but I can't say it's worth the money for me to do it again. I suppose if you can afford this type of luxury often then it is for you. Such a relaxing experience. Definitely will be back for more. Sessions are 40 minutes but I felt like I could sit longer than that. It was helpful that she had a guide in the room to explain what all the color meant. I do nails as my profession so my back and shoulders are always hurting and my muscles felt relaxed afterwards. Since it was my first time I can't wait to see if there are any long term results. I really suggest bringing lots of water. I brought my swell in and drank it all during my session. I LOVE THIS PLACE and I love Richmond VA. I go to the east coast for work and wherever I go try to find an infrared sauna. I was happily surprised that Richmond has such a "LA" kind of business. This place has the high intensity infrared I like and they are so friendly here. Yes it is clean and they give you a wrap to wear but I suggest to not wear that as no need to keep out any infrared. I have been several times over the last couple years but forgot to review it. read more

Clean space, quiet and the lady at the front desk was very nice. When i walked into my infrared booth i thought to myself...wow this inst that bad. Then after about 5 mins i was sweating like crazy. This is a wonderful place to detox, sweat it out and relax by yourself. Besides relaxation, I can see this being very beneficial for many: athletes recovering from workouts, stress relief, people with health issues or chronic pain, etc. Ultra clean, and ultra friendly staff at both locations (Patterson and Short Pump - I've been to both). Their website is clean, informative and most importantly useful - all you have to do is click the "Book an Appointment" link at the top of the page to set the time that you want to go. At both locations I was greeted by friendly staff and shown to my personal infrared sauna room - full of clean towels and other items to make my experience very enjoyable. When it comes to gyms or saunas I'm big on cleanliness, and this place was extremely clean from top-to-bottom - I love that. The rooms have white noise machines in them, so you feel like you have the place completely to yourself once you're inside. Both times I sat in the Sauna for 40 minutes while listening to an audio book through my cell phone headphones, closed my eyes and was in total relaxation. I felt great after such a good sweat and relaxing experience. I'm intentional about recommending places that provide a great experience, and I plan to recommend this place to many. read more

Was brought here by a friend during a recent visit to Richmond. I'm a little skeptical of "health & wellness" fads, but the infrared sauna session was fantastic! You'll leave feeling lighter, less stressed, healthier and of course, sweatier. The space is uniquely designed and in pristine condition--very sterile and clean. They also have a ton of great products. I picked up some all-natural face wash and apple cider vinegar. They also sell a fantastic bottled tea that is a must try! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Wish we had a location in D.C.! read more
