Visited after an extensive pandemic hiatus. Mostly the same vibe (read previous reviews). Star was very helpful and friendly. The sauna is showing a little age and could use some small repairs. There was a slat that came disconnected from the wall, the bottle holder is falling off, the remote wasn't inside, the radio didn't work, and some control buttons are worn and missing. There was also a salt lamp in the room that wasn't working. Even with the minor imperfections, it's a nice infrared sauna and it worked well. It was clean and functional. IMHO, still my go to for a sauna and a float! read more

Therapy you never knew you needed! This is a fine establishment just outside of the parking garage in a tight area of short pump. You have your choice of a tank or full on room, depending on your comfort level. Never had I felt so relaxed at a spa. You're provided with everything you will need-no need for toiletries/other cleaning supplies from home. Would recommend the head rest they offer-my neck started to get sore after a few minutes. Had my first float at Transitions Float Studio today and it was a good experience. Dan was an enthusiastic host and made sure I was taken care of. The decor has been changed since it was Oasis, and the sound-proofing seems to be better. It definitely has a tranquil, serene vibe complete with a soothing color palette. Transitions has only been open for a week, and I'm not sure the salt balance is quite right. I didn't take a full blown shower after leaving, just did a quick rinse and threw on a sweat suit, but that's what I always do, and salt was still crusting on me everywhere! When I got home and took off my clothes, there was salt everywhere. Other than that, it was a great float, and I'd definitely consider going again. 4/10/22 I'm back. This time for Fire & Ice. That was given to me as a gift. It consists of a infrared sauna and the cold plunge into ice cold water filled tub. I did thst in the sauna for 15 minutes, then 3 jn the cold plunge. When I tell you that water is COLD... it's crazy, its so cold it hurts! But it's great for inflammation and sore joints. I felt much better after my hour long appointment. Will I ever do that again.. ? Can't say for sure... it was SUPER COLD. I loved that sauna though. read more

This place is so relaxing and everybody that I came across Weather on the phone or at the facility was really friendly. After having such a stressful year it was nice to relax and have a stress-free experience. It was incredibly easy to book the place was really clean and afterwards it was easy to run any errands I needed I could go to a grocery store I could grab lunch everything was close by. I received a gift certificate for a float tank experience from my son Christmas of 2020 and put off going until now. It was great! The place is spotless clean and the mood and decor is relaxing. The staff was friendly and helpful. In normal water I am a "sinker" and can lie on the bottom of the pool. I had a good friend try floating, and he was blown away by it. So, I thought I'd give it a try and I'm glad I did! I really, really enjoy it. I've floated twice now and two of my teenage daughters have, too. I can now use the experience to meditate during the day, essentially mentally putting myself back in their "cabin" room, and it really helps. But I think the thing that surprised me the most was how good my muscles feel afterwards! When I'm done, my muscles are a little sore, like the feeling after a nice massage. It's awesome. I think meditating generally is something I'd like to do, but it's hard for me to just focus on relaxing. However, when I am floating it is pretty simple. You just lay there and let the stressors and interruptions of life just fade away. It's so awesome!!! read more

To say I was skeptical at first is an understatement, however, if you need a calming, noise-free environment to de-stress and reset, you MUST try Transition Float and Wellness RVA. I went to the Sycamore Square location in Midlothian, VA. You simply float in a dark, soundless pod or cabin for 60 minutes. The water is highly salted and warmed to the perfect temperature. I tried the larger cabin for my first time since I'm claustrophobic. If you prefer to have some light and sound as you float, there's the option to adjust these settings. I found it challenging at first to 'get out of my head', but, by the end, I was totally relaxed. I recently visited the salt cave with a group of friends. We went on a Saturday afternoon after making reservations maybe three weeks prior. Transitions is a lovely place. Calm and serene with a sound machine playing crashing waves. They also sell a variety of locally made goods (cards, crystal jewelry, aromatherapy sprays). The front desk guy, I cant remember his name, showed us around the building and even let us peek into to float pods which was cool. The salt cave was beautiful, with backlit salt bricks on the walls and salt on the floor. They provide socks, which we simply slipped over our own socks, since you legitimately walk on salt. There are four vibrating chairs in each room (the chairs are amazing and likely my favorite part of the experience) and a machine that pumps salt into the air. The whole experience was very relaxing. I also walked in with a headache that had subsided by the time I left. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to the salt cave and giving the floating a try! read more

If you're worried about being claustrophobic, don't, I was completely comfortable and felt like nothing was around me. Try the breathing exercises! I was asleep and didn't even realize it.
