If I could give Mackenzie 10 stars I would. I got a VERY long overdue massage last night. It was awesome you could schedule massages past 7pm on a Friday. I met Mackenzie, filled out some paperwork, chatted about problem areas and she got to business. I like that you don't choose deep tissue, sweedish, hot stone, etc, but that the massage is customized to your individual needs. I had a combination of all of the above used in my massage. Apparently I had knots in my neck, back near shoulders, lower arms and a tight butt (i'll take that as a compliment! LOL). She took the time to work out each and every knot telling me that if anything was too much to let her know. It was very intense to work them out but not too much but all worth it as man do I feel 100% relaxed today. I don't think there was any part she missed. For me the neck massage was worth the amount, i didn't realize i was so tense up there. She covered arms, neck, legs, back, butt, feet, hands, scalp.... it was amazeballs. When I was checking out, I had mentioned that I travel a lot for work and she told me they often have same day appts available if I ever just have a couple of free hours. So check this place out! Went for my first massage in a long time to this place based on location and other Yelp reviews. I used the 10% off coupon for checking in on Yelp. I booked an hour long massage with Ryan. He was familiar with some more new age techniques like cupping and reiki that I was not into. I bring it up, because if that's your thing, I am sure they could accommodate your requests. As a nurse and a student, I tend to hold a lot of tension in my neck/shoulders and lower back. Ryan sat down and really talked to me about where I was having the most trouble before the massage, which I really appreciated. In all it was a good experience. I think the price is probably consistent with other massage places in the Richmond area, but to me $75-80 (with a discount) is too expensive. For me a massage is a way to treat myself and it didn't seem that way there. I don't know what was off, but I think they need to step up the luxury factor. For that much money an hour, someone should bring you fruit infused water, a towel to wipe off the massage oil, etc. read more

Without fail, whenever I go to Sacred Waters to check out the new pieces, I always walk away with something. They also carry other local brands with really unique pieces. Their gift shop is among the best! So, why not 5 stars? The customer service here is always super lackluster. Perfect example: The other day when I went in, an employee was nowhere to be found the entire time I was shopping. I could have been anyone waltzing in to the store with bad intentions of stealing stuff and they would have been none the wiser. I walked around saying "hello" to see if anyone was in one of the back rooms and nobody answered. I almost walked away without buying anything, but decided to ring a bell at the front door as a last ditch effort. Someone did walk out a couple minutes after that and I decided to go through with my purchase since I really loved the earrings and want to wear them to my upcoming baby shower. But, this is not the first time that I've felt weird customer service vibes at Sacred Waters. Maybe one day I'll try their massage services because people seem to rave about them. I did not have a great experience at Sacred Waters. I received a "Swedish Massage with Energy Work" and it felt like I basically got rubbed down with oil, with little pressure. My masseuse also used hot stones at the end of my massage and I now have burn marks on my back from where she let them sit for too long. It was not relaxing and I did not feel better after my massage. I won't be back to Sacred Waters in the future. read more

I Booked an hour long massage with Mackenzie recently and first off I just want to say I'll be going back for a longer one. I had been in immense pain for weeks and she comfortably worked me out so well. It sounded like speed bumps when she was going into my shoulder blades! I immediately felt calm and relaxed at the spa. I have been getting massages for years but this was by far the best. She really seemed to understand anatomy far better than any other therapist I've seen and found areas I didn't even know needed attention. He put me at ease when I was unsure of what to do. After leaving a 90 minute massage with him, I felt like a new person! I'm a nurse so I am constantly on my feet. I saw Justine today for a 30-minute upper body massage because of a knot in my neck. When she first put her hands on me, I exclaimed that her hands were freezing and she said she should have warned me that they are always cold when it's cold outside. She assured me they would warm up. After about five minutes her hands were still uncomfortably cold and I started to worry about my muscles contracting instead of releasing due to the cold.
