During my gel pedicure a different technician took it upon herself to remove a hangnail (that I didn't know I had??) and ripped my nail/skin so I will be applying bacitracin and hoping it doesn't get infected. I usually do my nails myself but am in a wedding this weekend and wanted to treat myself which I will not be doing again here lol I got gel and white chrome on my toes and was charged $70 for my pedicure which I didn't have the energy to question when leaving. The next person took a holistic approach to skin care, which I really was interested in, but skin got SO much worse in the 4 months under her care- it was really unbelievable. The products that she gave me gave me a ton of comedones, which made the texture of my skin so awful. I found Advanced Skin Care online and got two personal recommendations as well, which confirmed for me that I was making the right choice. It took some time to get things under control, but in the 4 months that I've been there, I have gone from grade 4 acne to grade 2 (at my last visit). It's been one month since my last facial, and I have had zero blemishes. I used to have 5-6 blemishes show up every 1-2 days. Ydali is really great! She is the only person I've seen there. I like her no-nonsense, careful approach. My skin is very sensitive and she has given me explicit instructions for incorporating each new product so that my skin could acclimate. She hasn't ever pushed products or services on me, which I really appreciate. Whenever I have had questions in between appointments, I have been able to reach her for help. I went in person to schedule a lash lift and tint and specifically told the employee I wanted to use my ClassPass credits. When I asked how to book it through ClassPass, she told me, "Don't worry about it. You don't need to book it on there since we made the appointment here." On the day of my appointment, only one hour beforehand, I received a call saying they couldn't honor it because the Washington Square location doesn't use ClassPass. Five minutes later, they called back and said they would accommodate me. I again made it very clear that I wanted to use ClassPass and was willing to go to whichever location accepted it. They specifically told me to go to Washington Square. After my service, I was then told I couldn't use ClassPass because I hadn't booked through the app--even though the same employee who performed my service was the person who originally told me I didn't need to. Their explanation was that they're "fairly new on ClassPass and still figuring it out." I understand being new to the platform, but their mistake and repeated misinformation should not cost the customer money. I paid for the service, but I won't be returning and will be reporting the experience to ClassPass. If you're going to participate in ClassPass, your staff should understand how it works and honor what customers are told.
