Friendly competent staff. For two people getting a mani pedi done, the total was $84. Not at all bad for the level of service. They got rid of huge piles of dead skin from my feet. They got my toenails fully under control. They got my nails looking correct. And they did it all with a smile! Tips are cash only, but the bill can be paid by credit card. It's a very nice shop with great service and very reasonable prices for what you get. read more

I have been coming to this salon for a few sets of nails and I feel that every time has been exceptional. The last time I went, Donni gave me the best pedicure of my life, even taking out ingrowns that had been bothering me for years. Clean tools and supplies every time! For manicures, I get acrylics and they are executed well without lifting. It is the responsibility of the consumer to know what they are paying for, and a quick question of price is completely free :) I know I pay for quality here and the people who work here are always friendly. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Boutique Nails. The young tech with glasses who did my pedicure treated me like I was dirty--barely spoke, handled my feet roughly, and made me feel unwelcome. Later, I saw her smiling and engaging warmly with a non-Black customer, which made the contrast even more painful. As one of the only people of color in the shop, it was clear my service wasn't as valued. The tech doing my nails was equally cold and dismissive in both tone and demeanor. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with basic respect and dignity--regardless of my skin tone. I hope this feedback encourages some self-reflection and accountability, because no one should have to feel less than human when seeking self-care. read more

I come here often, usually don't have an issue. I was getting a pedicure and the tech immediately comes over and starts cutting my nails too short to the point where my big toe looks like a nub. I tell her it's too short and asked for a tip or extension to fix. She looks at me goes back to the guy starts yelling and complaining they both stare at me. She comes back and cuts my other toes the same short length. Every time I've come here they communicate while they're working and just don't start cutting. read more

This was my first time at this salon. My appointment was for 12 pm, but I wasn't taken care of until 12:35 pm. Even then, I didn't mind and gave the business the benefit of the doubt. My nail tech was incredibly kind, however, it hasn't even been a week since my appointment and I've broken 3 nails. I have NEVER broken a nail before now! I went back twice this week and each time, my nails were fixed for free. But after just breaking a third one and speaking to many other nail techs about this, I don't think I'm the problem. I paid $103 for my service and tipped $20 on top of that. I am a college student and the price was incredibly steep, but I'm just happy to pay service workers.. It's disheartening to hear people tell me that I was scammed and it upsets me that my experience wasn't as good as others who have left good reviews. This whole thing upsets me, as I just wanted to have nice nails for my birthday and Halloween. read more

DO NOT GO there! Warning you. I went in with nice nails and left like this. And they try to overcharge you like crazy. Very rude people. Stay away. Really went down hill this used to be my place. Got a regular pedicure and gel manicure for vacation/wedding at a resort. Toenail paint was chipped on every toe the first day. I have never had toenail paint chip that quickly. Two gel nails came off day 3. I have been in the water for maybe 2 hours total. read more

One person working on my mani while another person did my pedi meant I was there close to half the time it has taken in other salons where they do one at a time. My appt started right on time. The salon is spacious, clean and tasteful. Kristy and Rita were great. Kristy helped me decide between Gel X, acrylics or dipped and suggested the perfect color (Lincoln Park - a purple so dark it almost looks black). My nails have literally never looked this good. Kristy is talented. This is the most thorough job someone has done cleaning up my cuticles and unlike at other salons, it did not go too far and make me bleed, not one time! Rita did a great pedi and also a 10 min shoulder and neck massage while my mani was being finished up and she actually got some knots out. Everyone was chill and personable, especially sweet Anne at the front desk. Her presence is like sunshine. It was my first time there, but they made me feel like I was a longtime loyal customer. And I think that they convinced me to become one! I have gotten mani-pedis at other places that were just a little bit cheaper, but the skill level, atmosphere, customer service and result was not even close to what I experienced at Boutique Nail Cafe. I spent the weekend in Philly and with the beautiful weather was looking forward to walking around in sandals. Alas, I hadn't had a pedicure in months and my feet were gnarly! Thankfully my frantic Yelp search on Friday evening led me to this place a 15 minute walk from where I was staying in the Italian Market area. The place is very big (at least twice the size of anyplace I've seen in NYC) with at least 10 manicure and pedicure stations. It was bright, spotless, and charmingly decorated. I was also impressed with their large and varied polish selection (although they had very few Essie colors, which is generally my go-to.) I didn't have an appointment but when I walked in they said it would only be a 5-10 minute wait. It was a little more than double that, but it was pleasant enough to sit in their waiting area, and honestly I was surprised they could fit me in at all with how busy they were! The woman who did my pedicure was so friendly and incredibly efficient. I've seen other folks complain how rushed the pedicure was, and it definitely was quick and more thorough than relaxing, but that was fine for me. And my toes came out great! It's definitely a little pricey ($40 for a pedicure, which is more than I pay in NYC by quite a bit) especially considering the lack of pampering, though. That being said, my toes do look great and I was glad to be on my way quickly. Checkout process was also efficient and that woman was also so nice and friendly! They have some sort of loyalty punch card, which I declined since I don't live in Philly but that's great for those of you who are local! read more

I really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt but I think after the 3rd time I'm not coming back. I was there for some bday nails, the nail tech was sweet at first. But after I made a comment about the middle nail, she was just rude. I was in and out in less than an hour, definitely rushed and I just felt okay about the nails. She asked me if I wanted to get them redone but it really seemed to be more of a problem. read more

I was very happy to support this family owned business last Saturday. I went in for a gel manicure and was easily able to make an appointment online for that same day. I have never see such a large array of gel color options. The staff were very nice and made my very rough nails that have not been professionally done in 3 years look beautiful. Thank you Lucy for doing such a great job. Cost is what I expected it to be ($35 for a gel manicure). The salon is very airy and spacious. They were packed and it still never felt overwhelming or crowded. I'm happy this business is so close to my apartment and will definitely be back. read more

I love this place! I have had Ivy for a gel mani a few times and she does an amazing job with nail art! Polish is quality too - the gel stays on 2+ weeks looks fabulous!! For pedicures they take their time and pull all the stops on exfoliation, massage, hot stones, and callus removal. Their massage chairs are also wonderful. They have a great selection of nail polish colors and are always really patient when I can't make up my mind because decision anxiety is my downfall. Definitely recommend!! read more

Boutique Nail Cafe is excellent and has everything I want in a salon especially during covid. The salon is large and beautiful with good airflow. They take your temperature upon entry and have protective barriers up at each station. Everyone sits far apart. The technicians were all really nice and did a great job on my SNS dip manicure and normal pedicure. read more

Just okay. Pedicure didn't include a good pumice or scrub... felt rushed and they just relied on lotion to cover the rough spots. During my manicure, she didn't clip or push back cuticles or dead skin on the side of my nails... just doused in oil at the ends. I get my nails done every three weeks and can spot the shortcuts. Fine for a cheap place, but this isn't cheap. I went to pay for my friend and myself who got mani/pedis... she got gel and I got powder. The price was not written down in a receipt book and just quoted at the register as a sum total. It seemed sort of reasonable, so I didn't push back, but very arbitrary. No where in the shop did they have a price list or menu. It just seemed shady. Won't be back. Also, they rotate multiple people to work on you at once. My friend had four different people work on her and I had two. That's not relaxing... read more

I used to walking distance to this place and went all the time. Having moved to the opposite side of the city, I tried finding a new nail spot closer. I could not. Consistently great nails every time! The salon is super clean, plexy glass between tech and client, clean supplies, and most importantly, I love my nails each time! My UV gel polish never lifts or cracks. $38 for a UV Gel polish manicure. Don't forget your cash for tips because you can't add it to your card. There is an ATM in the back of the salon though. Every time I go they charge more and more. Almost 200 for acrylic nails with design and the design was not at all complicated. I quit getting designs because of this and still every time there's a new up charge. So disappointed with how they treat their customers. read more

They change the price every time I have been. It always another unexpected up charge. This time they wanted me to pay $5 extra dollars for normal polish. They wanted to charge more because they said it stayed on longer but the process is exactly the same as all the polishes. Mind you I've bought this polish from the store and it costs the same as the others. I've seen people confirm prices multiple times with them before starting work because they will change the price if they think you look like you are easy to fool. read more

I started coming here many years ago back when I lived in the neighborhood and they were in their prior location. I've been to the new/current location a few times including this past weekend. There is a reason why I'm happy to make the trip from the burbs to South Street for this salon. (And it doesn't hurt that I can pick up some bahn mi's on Washington Ave after getting my nails done.) I love that I still see the familiar faces of the same nail technicians from many years prior and they remembered me despite the fact that I hadn't been there in a long time thanks to COVID. I got a superb manicure and pedicure like always. They have a fantastic selection of colors. Price is reasonable for the area with a slight discount for paying in cash. For being a city nail salon, this place is rather spacious with nice spacing between stations, a major plus during covid times. They've always been super clean so it's no surprise they are taking every precaution during covid including temperature checks, masks, hand sanitizer on everyone, and constant disinfecting. An employee changes the plastic liner on the pedicure tubs between customers and wipes down the entire chair. read more

My nails look atrocious there is not enough coats on my nails and there is pink flecks in my nails. They overcharged me and made me wait far too long. This place I would never recommend. The nail tech also didn't get the glue out from under my nails so they're sticky and stiff right now read more

Last couple of times I went in they claimed to have the nail color I wanted and then after they'd taken off my old color informed me that they didn't have the color I wanted. I hate leaving poor reviews but I feel like I must warn others who get dip powder. I've been going to another salon which I like but my friend asked if I'd come to this one w her. I really love the atmosphere and it's really busy but in a cool and entertaining way like a movie. Everyone is real nice that works there. The first thing I was bummed about was the tiny selection of dip powder colors. The nail artist was great and super quick in getting my old dip polish off and starting the new. This was awesome bc I don't like just sitting around. The result was a way thinner polish than I ever had I really liked this bc I could actually use my nails whereas w the other salon the polish was so thick I could not. But the look was really really dull and by the next day 2 nails started cracking . After two weeks those two nails ripped off from the crack on the polish and by week 3.5 4 had cracked off w 2 more on the way. It's crazy. I kinda want to go back so I can show them- maybe it was just a bad session. But I think I'll just go back to the place I usually go bc they look so bold and don't crack when I do For all other services please do not take my review into account my friend does regular polish and LOVES this place and swears it lasts much longer. read more

Well designed, spacious, and relaxing! I came in for a gel mani and a regular pedi ($60). I do agree with other reviewers that they could improve in scrubbing dry skin off of feet. My pedicure was painless and quick! The tub was lined and all tools were new. My gel mani was great! I usually don't have ANY nail polish last more than 5 days, let alone a week. They have the biggest collection of gel polishes I've ever seen! I recommend this place! Friendly staff and a lovely space. read more

My first visit to this place, and I'd definitely go back. I got a gel manicure, no extras, for $35. It's exactly what I asked for, and the best part was that there was no hard sell to add anything and increase the price. I was greeted immediately and was helped to find the color I had in mind. Location changed! They're now on the southwest side of 6th and south. Same wonderful service, new modern spot with lots of windows. The service is always great here. They keep people moving but don't ever seem to rush you. The owner remembers people who come back and she is very welcoming. Shellac, powder dip, they take credit cards, they have a rewards card. I went to my friend's wedding last weekend and I could have easily painted my nails...and had nail polish covering the all the skin around my fingers because I'm just not good at painting my own nails or I could see a professional. I decided to splurge since it was also close to my birthday time! And I just have never been one of those manicure ladies. I came in after lunch and easily made a quick appointment and before I knew it was sitting and ready to get my nails did. Some guy was walking out when he was expressing his gratitude at the top of his lungs! He exclaimed how they just spoiled him! I had to know what he got done. I guess it was the foot scrub. Mental Note: get euphoric foot scrub next time in south Philly! I got the design with the polka dots that I spotted from the yelp page. I didn't want boring ol' plain color. I wanted to spice things up! It's a wedding and I had a birthday. I wanted it vice versa, the black nails and white polka dots. The lady who did my nails was also the receptionist. She had to pop up a lot or pick up the phone but my nails looked fantastic. And she might've forgotten me at the nail dryer but like I said I was more than happy with my nails that I just asked if I was good to go after awhile. This place had a regulars environment. Everyone hanging out had been there before and not just once. This is definitely were one goes to relax on a Sunday and get a mani, pedi, haircut and yes..a euphoric foot scrub! Treat Yo Self! I drove here a little over an hour because my sons specialist is in the area. I was assisted by Hannah and she was super sweet. Even when I changed my mind about the color I selected. I went with my toddler and he is normally really chilled anyways but they were attentive and made sure he was sitting next to me. Such a pleasant experience! Calm and clean environment. I am definitely going back! Hoping to align my kiddos appointment with my nail touch up hahah. So worth it! They seem to be very busy regardless of weekday or weekend. But there's a rhythm to the madness. Definitely recommend. Sweetest team of nail techs. read more

They don't clean up with a twizzer after waxing. When I got home lots of hair was still visible. I had wax in a corner of my mouth and nose, I did not notice it until I looked in a mirror at home. If cleanliness is important to you this place is not for you. Disappointed at the very least.

I walked in without an appointment at 5:30 and didn't have to wait. Bo got right to work and is one of the most professional nail technicians I've ever worked with. She told me about the history of the business, introduced me to all her colleagues, and said I have nice feet. Even better, she used a tool which softened my bunions and dry skin. It must have taken at least a year or two off my feet. The best part about Lotus is the quick yet thorough service and the welcoming atmosphere. While my nails dried, Virginia patiently listened as I told her all about the latest boy who broke my heart. It felt really good to get validation, and she made me genuinely laugh. The staff at Lotus does a great job of fostering connections with and amongst their clients. We all celebrated another client's recent divorce and discussed ideas for a "divorce party" which was fun and funny. If you haven't gotten a pedicure here yet, what are you doin??? It's the middle of summer and your feet need to look as good as my feet do now. Don't waste your time (literally) at another nail salon if you live in the neighborhood. Just make sure you have some tea to spill before you go, because what happens at Lotus stays at Lotus. Thank you for the great pedicure, Bo!
