I am so upset with Purity spa. I went in today to get a wax with Kerri and had to leave because I had my baby with me. She said there were two massages coming in and couldn't have the baby disturbing the other clients. I completely understand that, but there was no one in there at the time and I'm sure by the time they can in and got their clothes off and settled on to the bed I would have been done. I've followed Kerri since T Carlton and know that she's super fast. I'm not saying anything bad about her because she is a very nice girl, but she definitely handled it the wrong way. She should have said next time I wouldn't be allowed to bring her and done the wax. There is no way she should have turned me away with an appointment. I have three children the one with me being only a year old and don't have a baby sitter unless I'm at work. I find it very hard to find child care for one when te other two are in school and was really looking forward to my appointment. She actually said sorry people don't usually bring their babies. Well good for them. Well I'm very sorry If I want to get anything done I need to bring one of them. And I'm sure a lot of other woman would agree with me and see my point of view. I only write reviews on yelp if something is terrible or fabulous and Purity Spa is...fabulous! I live in Brooklyn so I'm used to extremely high prices but Purity is very reasonable, not to mention the Groupon that's been featured for a very long time. I saved a lot of money buying it for myself and my husband. I even purchased it for my mother-in-law to treat her to a facial by Rachel. I've been seen by rachel when she was at Nubest Spa and T-Carltons. I've had several facials by Rachel as well as my husband and MIL. We always come out feeling rejuvenated and she is amazing with her treatment. Because my ob/gun is located on LI, I had prenatal massages with Ray who is the best massage therapist I've ever had. I'm sad to be in BK or else I'd go to him weekly if I could. Everyone is super sweet there and they've recently made some staff changes that suit the place a bit better. Kerri and her staff are so nice and I've even come in with my newborn as they grew quite attached to me throughout my pregnancy. What I would do for a Mommy Makeover at Purity! The location is quiet and quaint and the atmosphere in the rooms is so calming. It's clean and offers little things like hot tea and peppermint patties which surprisingly, taste fabulous after a treatment. I can't wait until I'm on LI again so I can go. I had a great experience at this spa. My current pregnancy has been very hard on my back, hips and related joints. I have been to several spas for prenatal massages but none were really providing much relief. I went to Purity and Amy did my prenatal massage. I felt exponentially better afterwards. She really knew what she was doing in terms of the massage and had a lot of knowledge regarding prenatal needs. She was super nice and fantastic at her job. I then had a facial with Pam. It was awesome and just what I needed. I had a great, relaxing afternoon at the spa and would highly recommend them. I also need to comment on the review left by Margaux S. because I think that review is very unfair. Kids do not belong at a spa. Ever. I go to the spa to get some downtime from my kids as I'm sure most moms do. I would have been totally annoyed if I walked in and saw a baby. As a mother, I understand babysitting woes, but waxing is not an emergency. It should have waited until you could find a sitter. To come on a website like this and leave a hurtful review because you were in the wrong and put the esthetician in a tough situation, potentially compromising the business she has, is really in poor taste. read more

It is my husbands birthday today so I wanted to give him the gift of a relaxing massage (he has a very physical job). The thing is that he had a massage therapist that he would visit frequently. He was very loyal to her. She decided to close shop over 2 years ago and move to North Carolina. My husband was devasted. Ever since he has tried atleast 15 different therapists and no one measured up, didn't even come close! I contacted Kerri, the owner at Purity Spa, and expressed to her exactly what my husband was looking for. Her response was "I have the perfect person for him!" So I booked a massage with Pam and.... I'm excited to be writing my first review ever on yelp. The services received by Keri at Purity were so worthy Of acknowledgment. I was recommended to go to Keri by a coworker three months ago. While people say I have fabulous skin from afar,I have always had a severe blackhead situation around my chin area which is not noticeable unless you got up close. This has been something that has gotten progressively worse over time and I truly thought would be unfixable. I've went to numerous facialists through the years and after using Keri , my skin has never look better and without the return of the black heads.
