I come here when I'm looking for something light to eat. The food options are pretty good. I find it's a little expensive but eating healthy in America always is! Today I had the southwest wrap which was absolutely delicious. The wrap was huge and the ingredients were busting out of the wrap. My only complaint about this spot is the service is always pretty slow. Sometimes you get lucky and someone might be moving quick but it can sometimes take 10 minutes to get your food while no one is there. You watch them take their sweet time. The Ahi Poke was good. Plenty of ahi tuna. It included some sliced almonds, avocado, and black rice. There were some slices of radish, Wasabi Hummus, and ginger, which are garnishes. Pure Life is too expensive for the amount and not enough toppings on the poke. read more

Awesome chill spot right next to a cool gym in Delray. Love their menu and their different varieties of healthy/raw/vegetarian/vegan options! You can order anything from açaí bowls to lentil soups, wraps to quinoa bowls, they have a small menu but a nice variety of different things to eat. If you just want a nice cold pressed juice, they got It! They have It all. I absolutely loved their avocado and hummus wrap It was very filling and came with a side salad. I realized after I ordered that they also have a Greek falafel wrap and I totally didn't see it on the menu but will for sure be ordering It next time. It's really weird... not the kind of thing you expect when you walk into a healthy eatery. But no big deal. Food quality over the smell matters a lot more. Yes, It's a cafe inside the gym and there will be people working out behind you while you're munching on a salad. It may feel a little weird but it works for Purgeens. What an interesting place- it is the basically the health cafe of a gym but the cafe is basically 1/3 of the whole place. Prices are a little high but that's what it costs to eat healthy these days. Their grain bowls seemed the best. Called the Power Bowl and my friend called the Delray Detox Bowl. My personal take has been to avoid wraps and sandwiches- I believe American flour is a main cause why people are constipated or can't seem to absorb the good stuff as long as there is bread/wraps/pita involved. Overall, good food, clean and chill place, speedy. Power bowl had the Quinoa, ancient rice, carrots, almonds, cabbage, goat cheese, golden raisins, homemade pesto for 10.70$. Check in with your yelp app to get 20% off the main entree. I wished I had called something with greens b/c it was yummy, but I felt like I was missing a whole food group b/c of the paucity of color on my place. Purple, grain, orange and white is all I saw. I had to go home later with the other half and add in some power greens to make the dish more balanced b/c the food pyramid seemed to swell on the grains section and less of the veggie section. Delray Detox was Mixed Baby Greens, Julian Carrots, Beets, Shrimp, Zucchini Ribbons, Grated Ginger, Brussels, Golden Raisins, Balsamic Vinaigrette and really seemed to be the way to go for anyone who's trying the 30 day diet of eating clean (no grains/paleo/dairy/processed). read more

I found Purgreens on Yelp and was stoked that it was walking distance from where I was staying (parking is a nightmare around there). The food there is really healthy and tasty. The juice bar/drinks bar offers some inventive and unusual health-oriented choices and combination, but they're really expensive. (This is Delray though, so perhaps I'm not being fair.) Versatile menu is large enough that even the grouchiest carnivores can find something they can live with. For the vegetarian-minded, this place is great, though. Salads, wraps, and the like are custom made in front of you, and like Subway, etc., you can supervise and select what they put in/on your food. This place is located in a gym/workout center. It has an outdoor set of barstools which is nice. However, I don't really think it's much of a restaurant as far as table service. It's more like takeout/takeaway/quick service. For this price, you might have thought otherwise, but again, this is priced for high quality, short-shelf-life fresh fruits and vegetables, not for sit-down service. The staff behind the counter are young and not especially well versed in the health benefits of what and why the food/ingredients are what's offered, but they mean well and are earnest in what they do know. They make up for it with being friendly at least. They serve good quality and good portions. If this is the kind of place you're looking for, I would suggest you try it. You'll probably like it. (Except for some of the pricing.) Don't expect a lot of typical drink choices either. The most "normal" you'll probably find besides bottled water is flavored iced tea (not bottled) which is actually good. But, since most of what "yer typical 'merican" drinks isn't very healthy, you won't find those typical choices here. A good lesson, even if you don't like that fact. read more

My first stop in, I called a few minutes out and ordered an Acai Bowl to go on my way to work. When I arrived they were just finishing preparing the bowl, and it was so beautiful that even their manager took a picture of it to share on their instagram! The fruit was fresh and vibrant and delicious, and the bowl was topped with delicious coconut flakes, chia seeds, gogi berries, and a honey drizzle. It truly was so delicious, I want to eat one every morning. They also offer an extensive selection of smoothies, which is perfect considering it is attached to a wonderful gym.
