Smoothie with protein powder added- delicious!
    Breanne C.

My husband who is a coffee drinker brought me to this place! They have sooooo much more then just coffee and now it's become one of my favorite go to places for a quick drink/snack/lunch depending on what you get. Our kids love the smoothies and I've recently been getting those with the addition of protein powder! So delicious! They are always super friendly and I love that they have a drive up window (and you can go inside if you have time). Keep up the good work Purple Bean we love supporting you!

One of my favorites! I've been coming to Purple Bean for years, and the coffee always hits the spot. You can either order inside or in the drive through line, but if you've never been here before, I'd either go inside or look at the menu beforehand because they have A LOT of flavors! I switch between getting the blended Cherry Garcia and the daily special. This place is a real gem!

Cute little place. Can order inside or their drive thru window. Huge menu with a discounted "drink of the day". The prices here are solid. Got a large (3 x espresso), dirty chai with hemp milk. The chai is powdered and it was okay. Not super flavorful but I do love that there is a hemp milk option. Which is an upcharge but my drink was $6 and some change. Like Starbucks would have been $11 if not more so I'd be down to come back and support this little local spot. Lovely ladies working there that greeted me with a smile. Stamp cards are available!

Recommended by a local, I was meh about it. The menu sounds great, the latte flavors seem exciting and awesome variety but I ordered two separate drinks & felt like they both lacked flavor. I was expecting something more bold, and it was almost a watered down taste. The service was good, staff was friendly. I really liked that there was an indoor/drive thru option. I would try it again, maybe not iced to see if the flavor was more outstanding or not. The local that recommended it said it's her favorite place, so maybe I should have just picked different on the menu.

The coffee here is very good. The staff is sweet. It is super busy. Bring your patience. The menu is diverse and can satisfy any sweet tooth and traditional coffee lovers.

I really enjoyed the small home town feel. They were warm and welcoming add much as they were busy. My oat milk latte was delicious and the scone was a great addition to the morning. Prices were really reasonable and the quality of everything was better than expected, making this my new favorite place. Definitely recommend.

Met my best friend here for breakfast last week! It's been ages since we actually sat down in this locally owned coffee joint. I ordered a sausage and egg breakfast burrito to sustain me until lunch. My son had a chocolate cheesecake muffin as well with some milk. I ordered their creme brulee latte special my girlfriend had a smoothie and a bagel. It was nice to catch up with her and be able to sit down and enjoy a coffee shop that we haven't been physically in, in years. I'll always strive to support local and this will always be a stop whenever I'm in the neighborhood.

I love this local female-owned and operated coffee shop. Always have a fun, friendly, and welcoming vibe in there. The many flavored lattes they have in there are all so good. There's absolutely no reason to go to any of the big chain coffee spots in the area when this local favorite exists.

I love to go out and get a blended or hot coffee drinks and have recently discovered this little gem on the northwest side of town. My very first visit I had such a hard time making up my mind because I had not been to a coffee place that offered so many flavor choices. I finally decided to order my drink and asked what dairy free milks they had. Once again, I was not disappointed. I had my choice of several of the dairy free options. So far, my favorite is the Cherry Garcia blended with oat milk. I want that one again but still have so many others to choose from. My second favorite is probably the Milky Way. I have not tried any of the hot varieties but will be soon. Finally, just want to mention the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Don't forget to get your stamp card so after 10 purchases the 11th one is free.

Great recommendation of a well balanced coffee that is only slightly sweet. Daughters ordered the strawberry matcha latte with house made syrup and loved it. Nice location with an enjoyable outdoor patio where we were graced with a slight morning breeze. A complimentary tasting of Turkish delight was offered with each purchase of a beverage. Asked for recommendations and got the pistachio which was really good and the tart raspberry. I'd definitely order the pistachio again!! The pistachio complimented the coffee and the raspberry would be awesome with a non coffee drink.

We got 2 drinks (mocha drogata $11 and iced vanilla latte $10) and 2 "brunch" items (sausage sandwich $11 and prosciutto toast $14) We spent $48 on food (plus $6 tip) They were out of what I originally ordered which was fine, but when I chose the alternative smaller meal I was shocked to find it was actually more expensive - I should've checked more closely. We received our drinks which are undoubtedly good - but $12 for an ice latte with tip Is nuts. My husbands prosciutto "toast" was cold and not toasted, and was drenched in jam with almost no prosciutto. My sausage breakfast sandwich was not plated and was completely cold in the middle. After $54, we are really not impressed and very reluctant to come here again. Very disappointed this midtown staple has fallen from grace, now I get why. The prices are crazy.

I had the grinder sandwich and ate every single bite because it was so delicious. The crack and crumble of the bread was like a banh mi sandwich but filled with Italian ingredients. The only downside is their space is a bit tight for the amount of business they bring in and timing is essential to enjoy your experience here if you can grab a seat at the right time. We definitely added them back to our regular list of places to visit for our bakery needs on the mornings and weekend brunch.

What a major local gem in Reno. It only took one visit for…read moreme to become a fan of this coffee shop/bar in Midtown. You can tell that a lot of thought and heart went into the place. The decor, the entertainment, the products all struck a chord with me. On one side - a super cute pour over/loose leaf tea shop with some records for sale. On the other - a cute bar and lounge area equipped with a vinyl player (Bring one in on a Monday for them to play). You have some house pants, checkered floors, and cool vinyl covers all over the walls that make for some great & hip atmosphere and vibes. Their restrooms, though small, and clean and cool. Their pour overs are so flavorful, strong, and made with beans grounded on your visit. I love that they're flavored and sweetened in a way that allows the coffee to shine. If you're into sweeter drinks, ask for a bit more sweetner or add in a brown raw sugar packet yourself from the straw station. I hear their chocolate pour over is a hit. Matchas - prepared in a similar fashion. Slightly sweetned with subtle flavorings. I tried their carrot cake matcha today and really enjoyed the housemade syrup they used to flavor it with. I also love that they offer loose leaf teas. Their chai was nice, fragrant and great with a little sweetner and milk. Shelby over at the bar area was sooo patient with explaining their menu and suggested a isla bonita pineapple shrub drink for a non alcoholic option. Similar to their other drinks on the coffee side, it was tamed in sugar yet still fun and flavorful. I really enjoyed the tang from the apple cider and the spice from the tajin chili powder as a contrasting flavor. Double check their website for bar and coffee shop hours as they differ from one another. And follow them on Instagram for updates on seasonal specials & themed gatherings. A lot of cool local DJs spin here for special events and parties during the holidays. Tip: sit next to the pour over station next to the menu. It's so entertaining, especially with Sydney working the station (thanks so much for the chat and entertainment. Honestly one of the friendliest baristas I've ever met in Reno). Both bars are set up in a way that allows for meeting others and socializing. Check it out. It's a good time. Notes *Catch live jazz music on Wednesdays here for free. *free street & neighborhood parking *bagels & cream cheese available at the coffee shop *they have fun with their seasonal drink specials. An interesting combination of coffee shop, bar, and vinyl lounge, EP is located on Wells Avenue. I tried the Float On, a boozy adult root beer float using local gelato from Bibo. It's a coffee shop, so my friend sipped the 9 to 5, their version of an espresso martini.
