I have been buying Beloved's stuff for years now at the Carson City Farmers Market. I was glad to have the time to stop into the new brick-and-mortar location at RPM in Reno. The bakery space is large here, but unfortunately, there is very limited seating inside. There is some seating outside; however, almost every time I have come by this place, it looks packed. Something to keep in mind. They offer a small food menu and, of course, have their delicious breads and pastries available for purchase. I ended up picking a bear claw and a pecan pan suisse. I was super impressed by the bear claw- probably the best I have ever had, and bear claws were one of my favorite pastries growing up. I ate a lot of them! The filling to flaky, crispy pastry ratio was amazing! The pecan pan suisse was good, but didn't knock my socks off as I expected. I have been following this guy's journey since he was just dishing out a few sourdough loaves a week at the farmers market, so it's cool to see a local business owner truly thriving. Beloved's Bakery and Cafe is a great addition to the bakery scene in Reno, and I will certainly return. read more

Beloved's Bakery & Cafe is one of those spots that keeps you coming back because there's always something new. First it was the pineapple bun... now this chocolate mousse cherry petit gâteau; rich, smooth chocolate with that cherry layer inside, perfect balance and not overly sweet. And it's not just desserts... their pizza, sandwiches, and almond croissants are all solid. The sourdough bread is everything crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside All their breakfast options are good too, this shakshuka with that bread on the side? perfect combo. Yes, it gets busy (lines out the door), but I don't mind waiting for quality like this. Ambiance is mellow and relaxing but busy at the same time.. it's probably their amazing coffee that makes it feel this way. I love it here! Yall already know this place is amazing. We got the Japanese milk bread- Truly awesome. We tried some pastries as well. Everything was great, including our coffees. Now I like that they serve breakfast. But I will say they gotta get a bigger place. There is always a line out the door and not enough seating. They're at capacity trying to serve everyone. So that is a negative. But one that could be fixed with another location or a larger location. read more

I wish, I wish that carbs didn't kill me because I really love this place. We have been here about a half a dozen times. Normally I review right off the bat, but I have changed my style more recently to review places after a handful of visits, and be a little more critical. But I have to say that I really love the food that I have had at Beloved's. I have gotten the shakshuka many times and it's fantastic. The bread quality is unbeatable. The coffee is good. Better than most bakeries and cafes but not a true craft coffee. That being said, their dandelion latte is exceptional. They are a quick serve type of place. You get your own utensils, and napkins at a stand. Your own water glasses and bus your own table. The only service you get is the food dropped to your numbered table. Like most bakeries that I have been to. All of their pastries are top quality as well. I haven't had a bad or poorly make item from them ever. We will keep coming back! Especially with the new shades they installed. So much more space outside. read more

I discovered this bakery on Yelp when I was searching for coffee & vegan options. I did not realize I would be stumbling upon this gem!! I didn't need anything fancy for coffee on this day (just looking for drip that wasn't from a Starbucks) but I wanted to find a decent vegan sandwich and or pastry. Who knew Beloved's Bakery & Cafe would deliver on both? The cafe was bustling when I arrived and the line was out the door. I probably waited about 20 minutes before I was able to order but I was not in a rush. The people in line were regulars and said that it does get pretty busy on the weekends but it's worth the wait. It's important to note that there is one line for everyone, dining in or taking out. So please be prepared! The employees here seem so happy and full of pride for their bakeshop. Both of the people who helped me were super knowledgeable about their offerings and were able to make a lot of helpful suggestions. I came for the vegan croissant, which I was told there would only be the plain available by the time I got in, but to my surprise, their second batch of the day was done by the time I made it in! I ordered the vegan chocolate croissant and plain croissant. There was also the option of the vegan morning bun which I decided to pass on. I ordered their veggie sandwich which came in a crusty rustic baguette and a thin slice of cheese (which I forgot to ask them to leave out). The sandwich was really tasty. I don't know if I'd have it again since it was a lot to chew through but if your jaws are up for it, it's a fantastic sandwich! My TMJ was not happy, but my tummy was! The croissants were amazing! They were so flaky and not too filling at all. The chocolate batons tasted so good and weren't too sweet or bitter either. I got my bf the hazelnut chocolate croissant, which he devoured in one sitting. It was decadent, chocolately and very very filling. He did say it wasn't too sweet, which was why he was able to eat the entire thing so quickly. If I find myself back in Reno anytime soon, you can bet I'll be stopping by here again! read more

We were out visiting friends in Reno & she suggested we check out the beloved bakery & cafe . Holy Moly there was a line upon our arrival , they only allow six people in at a time . Oh my word the smells from this place was simply amazing , the pastries , aroma of fresh baked sourdough it was heaven! I got the lemon rosemary & rye sourdough, I made some pretty terrific sandwiches & both these breads were delicious perfection . 2026, as much as I love the ambiance and staff, their croissant still leave your hands very oily. Today I tried their breakfast sandwich - ham and cheese croissant, fried egg, gruyere cheese, mixed greens, avocado, jalapeño mayo. It was good, the flavors combined were pretty good. The greens seemed to be just lettuce. But what I like the least was how messy and oily your hands get when holding this sandwich. Even on the bottom of the to go box you can see the excess of butter or oil, whichever they use. Would I recommend it? Yes if youre taking it home. To take to work, not so much, bc it was messy. Always nice discovering a BELOVED neighborhood staple, and I can definitely see why Beloved's has so much hype and constant long lines! Decided to stop by here for a weekend brunch, and we were immediately overwhelmed with the amount of pastries/bread and brunch dishes available. They only allow six people inside at a time to order, but lines move really fast and honestly I barely had time to look over the display cases and pick a pastry before it was our turn to order at the cash register. We decided to go with the pistachio croissant, which was AMAZING - perfectly fresh, flaky and buttery, with a fragrant and elegantly subtle pistachio cream filling inside. We also ordered the shakshuka and Who Came First Benedict (fried chicken), but both dishes were a bit underseasoned in my opinion (and this is coming from someone who has a lighter palate and likes light salt). Our matcha and coffee-based lattes were also well-made and HUGE in portion, although I definitely think other coffee shops in the area are a bit better. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas that are first come, first serve, and self-bussed (meaning you clean up your dishes/the table by yourself). While this system works pretty well for such a busy cafe, it was definitely frustrating seeing some patrons leave behind huge messes and not cleanup after themselves. Any drinks are also self pick up from the drink counter, although they will bring out your brunch dishes to you. Overall, the pastries were the absolute star of the show, and I'd definitely be back another brunch time to try more of their menu! read more

I have been coming here with my family for several years and have always enjoyed their pastries and coffee. Decided to stop by on a Sunday around noon and the line was out the door, but don't let that deter you from going! The line forms because there is a 6-person limit to order inside, and it goes by faster than you think. Instead of just a pastry and coffee, my partner and I each had a porchetta sandwich, which was huge! A proper sized bakery sandwich. We also each ordered drinks to go, the hibiscus refresher and a cold brew, which were made and ready before we got the chance to find a table and sit down. Beloved works like a well-oiled machine, they pump out orders very fast and you wait more in line than you do for service and food. read more

Where else can you get a dandelion latte? This is my favorite lunch spot in Reno. Beloved's is located right next to Reno Public Market. Fun bustling atmosphere. Fresh pastries, breads, and a solid menu (my favorite salad). Good rustic style fries. What's not to love? They have a little outdoor seating. I absolutely love this place! Downsides: not a ton of seating, plus they stop serving the menu at 3pm. You can buy whatever baked goods they have left from the day until 5 PM. Lastly I will say, I've had lovely service here, as well as some real duds. It's hit and miss. Just young kids who can't even make eye contact or smile mostly. Every so often, I find myself somewhere totally random on business. To make these forays more enjoyable, I try to dine somewhere exciting. So while in Reno, I did as the Renoids do & tried out Beloved's! I subbed the brioche that was supposed to come with my breakfast platter for sourdough, and I'm so glad I did because it was the shining star of the order. They griddled it with butter & served it with jam - I ate every last crumb. I almost wish I'd just ordered bread, jam, and my cappuccino, as those were the highlights. I brought an Espresso Supreme Croissant back to my hotel for a mid-afternoon snack, and it was tasty, obviously a well-made pastry, but it isn't something I'd order again. I wished the pastry creme was a little sweeter... Maybe that's a "me" problem though. The service was not awesome. I don't think I saw anyone on staff smile while I was in there. I don't mean to be some boomer old man about it and need all the young women behind the counter to slap smiles on their faces, but if your bakery's going to be called "Beloved," it sets a certain precedent for treatment. I am really happy to update that my last few visits here have had noticeably better (friendly, helpful) service. It honestly makes a huge difference in the whole experience and is a great complement to Beloved's outstanding array of baked goods. Thank you management! Also finally had a chance to try a sit-down meal and the shrimp and grits are so good I've had them twice now. Delicious tender and well prepared shrimp on grits with great texture and a delicately seasoned gravy...yum! Had an English breakfast latte and love that the teas come brewed and you don't have to remove a messy tea bag. And I always grab a pain aux raisin and baguette sandwich to go if they're available. There's a new bold sign reminding people to bus their tables (always good) and asking for feedback. I appreciate the clarity but the sign is maybe a bit imposing for the smallish size of the area it's in. What I might add is a request for staff however to wipe tables? Plenty of bused tables available but they all needed a little table cleanup. Congratulations to Beloved's baker. The consistently high quality of the breads and the ongoing introduction of new items (nougat available today!) is impressive and makes each visit an adventure of flavor. read more

Beloved's has so many options for breakfast. Sweet, salty, pasties or a full breakfast. My friend and I ordered a couple of pastries to try and all of them were delicious. There's the option to bring home bread as well, and there are a lot of options. The place itself is so open and beautiful and there's space inside and outside to eat! The employees were so helpful, patient, and friendly making very helpful suggestions as it was my first time. Overall experience 10/10 and I WILL be back! read more

TL DR: What a pleasant surprise! Amazing baked good and pastries. 5/5 would recommend. I was waiting for some friends to meet up at a different business when I happen to pass by this lovely establishment. I am so thrilled I walked in. I was greeted kindly by the staff and I felt so overwhelmed by all of the amazing pastries. Literally, everything looked great. You could see the wonderful laminated layers, the smell of the fresh baked goods; there simply wasn't enough time to try or get everything in one go. I ended up buying a few pastries to share with my family. The lamination for all of the pastries was perfect. You can taste the butter in each layer. The price point is also very competitive with other bakeries, in fact, I think many items here are actually more affordable. The establishment looks really clean and I was able to get some help with my indecisiveness from the super friendly staff. There's no question that I will be back. read more

Usually I just get to go pastries and bread, but I had the Shakshuka the other day. The sourdough that came on the side of the egg dish was perfectly toasted with some butter on it. Overall, I liked the egg dish but would have liked to have a bolder spice in it. The indoor seating area is cute. It was fairly busy on Thursday around 10:30 am so depending on the timing after that, you would likely have to wait for a table. The staff is all very friendly, but the drinks were slow because it was busy. Not sure if they have the capacity to have someone doing the quicker drinks and another person to do the speciality ones, but that would have helped with the flow. read more

The bread and baked goods are excellent, no one can argue with that. We were pretty underwhelmed with the entrées however. we've been back a few times. Our goal in going there was to find a good regular new brunch place and I don't think this is quite met the bill. They weren't bad, but they weren't memorable either and the portions were small. I think to make it a great brunch place they need to iterate on the menu a little bit. I'm going to wait a few months and then give it another shot. Coffee drinks were good. This place was really popular and busy, we arrived there before 11am, but there was already a huge lines. We did have to wait a while for our food, but nothing too crazy. I had the Beloved's benedict, and my husband had the crabs benedict. Both dishes cooked perfectly, but I prefer crabs one. The coffee was also delicious, but it was a bit disappointing that the cup had a crack in it. We were very happy with the flavors, the price wasn't cheap but wasn't unreasonable either. Quality/Quantity - Discovered this bakery when dining at "The Kitchen Table" (5 Star Review). Your sourdough bread was so good, my buddy almost ordered a second order. So after giving blood, my wife and I rushed over here for some good pastries to reward ourselves! And of course, we came on the one day that you were closed..... Day 2, LOL. We got the following: Morning Bun - I think I chose wrong... Just a sugared "bun." It was just okay. Roasted Squash Goat Cheese Hot Honey - My wife's choice, it was way too fancy for me. Am I being too picky now, lol? My wife enjoyed it. Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie - This was salted alright! Tasted exactly like the name. No fault of this bakery, but I chose wrong! I will come back for their bread and update my review. Atmosphere - Decent size location. Closed Tuesdays. Well employees are actually inside working?!?! Must be for your wholesale business? The other 6 days - Open from 7am to 5pm. Cafe hours - Close at 3pm. I look forward to coming back. Day 2 - Line out the door the entire time we were here, congrats. If you had more people in the front of the house and kept both registers open, that line would move so much faster. Plenty of mall parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Two clean unisex restrooms. Stopped by Beloved around 7:30 this morning to grab a baguette for dinner and had one of our most pleasant visits yet. My family absolutely loves Beloved, but we've always had two small complaints: the Supreme rolls were rarely out early in the morning (usually not until after 9 or 10), and occasionally the counter service felt a bit unfriendly and sometimes rude. Today, they knocked it out of the park. Everyone was incredibly friendly and genuinely happy to chat with customers, and--best of all--they already had three Supreme flavors available, along with a large selection of other pastries, especially impressive for this early in the morning. I'm so happy to see the effort they've made to address these small things because they truly elevate the entire experience. Beloved already has the ambiance perfected, with plenty of relaxed seating both inside and out. It's truly a special gem here in Reno. My family always seeks out new bakeries when we travel, and we inevitably find ourselves comparing them to Beloved's perfectly buttery, light, and crispy pastries. They really have this art down to a science, and we're so lucky to have them here. read more

Stopped by Saturday morning and, as expected, there was a steady line of 10+ people (only 6 allowed inside at a time for pickups). Luckily, the line moved quickly and the staff was friendly and efficient. The selection was impressive even at 10am--everything looked amazing and it was hard to choose! The Ube White Chocolate Cookie was soft, flavorful, and perfectly captured that rich ube taste. The Matcha Supreme was flaky and creamy with a smooth matcha filling, and the Persimmon Supreme added a lovely honeyed sweetness with its vanilla cream center. Both supremes had that perfect croissant balance--soft, crispy, and beautifully flaky. So delicious! Overall, a must-visit bakery for fresh, inventive pastries. So, to begin.. What this old Shoppers Square location used to be and is now is really a triumph. New life has reclaimed this once dismal little, mostly vacant mall into something outstanding is so great. Beloved's is located out in front of the Reno Public Market on Plumb Lane directly to the right of the Main entrance to the Food Court portion of the Mall. I had heard of this bakery long before I had a chance to try it. It's quite busy most of the time. My friend and I managed to get in rather quickly and before the Mid day rush. The ladies behind the counter were very helpful in explaining the operation of the ordering and the items themselves. My friend wasn't overly hungry so we decided to share a sandwich which was Italian based with thinly sliced meats and cheese on a wonderfully crisp and deliciously thin bread. We both remarked on how good it was. I decided to pair it with a Spicy Mexican Mocha on ice which was delicious with a slight kick. I also wanted so badly, A croissant , I went home with an amazing Pistachio cream filled one that was especially yummy which I devoured after arriving. The bakery is very simply decorated with bench seating with a view of the back kitchen, racks of bread and cases filled with lovely pastries. We both enjoyed it and will definitely return. For what you get, it's well worth the money. -Chicken Fried Steak: 5/5 For $19 and adding an egg separately let me tell you that the steak itself is worth more than the meal.... At over 12 ounces. You get a deliciously medium rare steak covered in a breading that's got everything you're looking for in a traditional steak and eggs. What makes this the best? The gravy and seasonings in general.... Savory is an understatement when I tell you that your perfectly triple cooked potatoes don't need ketchup. Alone this meal makes for a texturally pleasing meal. As the steak even though it's delicious in a perfect medium rare inner cut, is thick enough to get perfectly breaded on the outside and marries perfectly to an herbaceous sauce of a gravy that if you get a runny yolked egg like I did, it gives you the trifecta of savory, texturally, and perfectly priced for the experience you get. Definitely recommend this to anyone hungry for a good steak and eggs. Even eating outside is nice as it's covered and it's a place the kids would say is popping! The staff was extremely accommodating and we had different staff members check in on us through the line, as well as the waitress cleaning tables outside. We left her a tip which she was left with a smile, but the whole experience was well worth more than what we paid for. This bakery has the means to compete with some of your favorites.
