This company is a rip off. I used them for my Christmas lighting last year at a huge expense. I assumed the lights were mine because of the enormous price, this year I find out they are leasing them to me and I get a whopping 20% off this year. So instead of $2,600.00. Had them for 2 weeks. Didn't call or text ahead as I had asked then they broke my gate. I told them about it and they came and looked at it and said the wood was bad. It wasn't new wood but that piece had not been loose at all prior. Guess that means it was ok to break it. Then they wanted to charge me 100 dollars to fix it. For the two weeks I had them they missed weed eating large areas where grass had grown out of the cement. I highly discourage using this company. The crew clearly didn't care. On top of all this the owner calls me a dishonest. I am not being dishonest. I asked to be notified a day prior to service so I could unlock the gate and make sure my dog wasn't outside. That did not happen, and then they broke my gate rather than slow down and think about what they were doing. It's a simple request really. I never asked for it to be done for free after you guys notified me someone had looked at it. I simply cancelled service. In addition to this the crew never cleaned up my walkway for 2 weeks. My weed-eater broke so I thought I'd try a service. They just left this overgrowth there 5 feet from the yard. I mean for what it costs is this good? I do recommend this service as an overall service. They did great work and very reasonably priced - I have 1/3 acre yard. They offer a wide range of services and were upfront about costs. They always called the day before (sometimes a couple days ahead since I work nights) to remind me to unlock gate. They did work with me to be first on the list to mow since I sleep during the day and had to lock my dogs inside while they were here, so I could let the dogs out when they left. I did have a couple problems though. The weed-eated all my flowers a couple of times until I had sent a picture to the main office and asked them to stop. I have a 6 ft gate on one side of my house that has to be opened from the inside in order for them to bring in riding mower. They would never secure it from the inside when they left. They even took a picture when they left with it closed. I took a pic of it open after they left and then after I secured it with the ground stake to show them that although their mowers said they closed the gate, they did not secure it. I mean, if you have to open it from the inside, you should know you have to secure it from the inside. I have 4 dogs and they had gotten out of the yard. Yes the mowers did have to chase after them a couple of times to get them back and they did tolerate them running in the yard while they worked a couple of times. I would have kept the service if I did not keep having trouble with the mowers not securing my gate. I did contact the office when I had problems and they were able to convey my requests to the crew. Unfortunately I believe they were frustrated that their crews couldn't follow simple requests. read more

I have used Purple Care this year for lawn fertilization and weed control. I really started seeing improvement in the late spring and thought it was worth the price. I am on a fixed budget so, when I was charged $194.85 which was more than double the amount I was paying every 6 weeks...I was shocked! As many of us are struggling with inflation....I was not prepared to be charged this amount and did not agree to it. It would have been nice to be notified in advance of this increase. I am a retired teacher and have lived in the community for some time and customer service is of the upmost importance to me. After having several companies come by to offer pest services, we went with Purple Care who offered the best bang for our buck. However, they quickly fell short. We were charged more than double our original agreed upon price and then told no refund was available. We were then told In order to get out of our contract that we had to pay MORE money. I FIRED them after they: 1. Would not tell me when they arrived (as I had requested) so I could be informed as to what they were doing on that visit, and address any concerns I had; 2. Tried to "bully" and "cut me off" when I was finally able to confront them for ignoring my multiple requests (the guy's name was Gus). How good they are their job I can't say. What I can say is that their customer service stinks to high heaven if you have any complaints. I will NOT be bullied, cut off, or talked down to when I have a legitimate grievance. We used Purple Care for about 6 months. We had them do a fair amount of landscaping, maintenance, weekly mowing and pest control. They charge top tier pricing and therefore my expectations were extremely high. I was consistently disappointed with the quality of the small and sickly plants that they sold us, that were not warranted after a month. Additionally, the quality of the weekly service provided was equally poor. Edging was often skipped and the weeds seemed to increase, instead of decrease. They skipped a large wasp nest that was on the back door frame during a pest control visit. When I would express my dissatisfaction with these issues, they would simoly reply with all of the reasons I should not be disappointed, instead of making it right. Very frustrating. read more

Extreme lawn care started my service a couple of years ago. I've been fairly happy with their services until 8/22/19. On this day the tech left a bill on the front door but never serviced my property. I have a video Surveillance system and I see the tech place the bill on the front door but I never see him in the yard. The office manager said that video surveillance systems miss picking up their activity all the time! How is that possible? It picks up everyone else! They refused to send another tech out to treat my lawn. They refused to issue a refund but agreed quickly to cancel my service. Purple Care places minimal value on retaining customers. read more

I needed a company to lay some sod on the side of my house and found purple care. for this side it cost $750.00 and it was Zoysia (recommended by the company) and i obliged. Crew came out, laid a small layer of compost, and laid sod over the old grass and weeds. I spoke to the worker and advised i've done research on sod laying and was surprised they didn't til the old dirt and remove the old weeds and grass prior to laying sod. He assured it would not effect the new sod growth. so far so good even though the old weeds are coming through the new sod.I'll update with long results but overall no major issues. They supposedly came by and did pre emergent and didn't trigger the ring doorbell other than to put the charge slip on our door. We were both home and we have two dogs that also didn't sense them being in our front or back yard. It was after 3 p.m. on a Friday and then wanted to call off. The supervisor came out and argued with my husband, left without doing the service. We cancelled both our yard and pest control with them. Seed washed away (No topper) and I had to rake the topper out my self because it was so uneven. Consumers hire companies to manage the areas they specialize in. This isn't a good company. I started services with them about two or three months ago. The second time they came out, they claimed to have treated my lawn. However the guy didn't know I had cameras and he didn't treat my lawn. He only came to my door once and that was to drop off the service sheet showimg he was there. I called and spoke with an agent letting her know, my lawn wasn't treated. And I have my cameras as proof. She got an attitude and said well if you don't trust us to do our job, I don't know what else to tell you! I informed her, cameras doesn't lie. And my cameras only picked the guy up once when he approached my front door. The guy couldn't describe anything in my backyard. But he claims to have treated my lawn. So, they promised to come back out after 14 days if the weeds are still standing. Lol, it's well after 14 days the weeds are standing even taller and I didn't receive a phone call or an email letting me know that they weren't coming. Tuesday March 19, 2019 was suppose to be the they came back out. The sad part of it all is charged 63.87 for a service I never received. I will be canceling the service as soon as they open. The worst lawn care service ever. Salespeople will sell you the moon. The people they hire are inexperienced. I've watched them from my security camera and when they see me go outside, they pretend to be doing work. You have to babysit these people. I've asked the company to send me experienced gardeners who know how to service the size of my yard & not these goofballs. I certainly wish I had read Yelp reviews before I hired Xtreme Lawn Care. Despite a quote higher than other providers, we chose Xtreme because of previous experience (they dug a trench for our electrician) and because they were relatively local. During the project, I asked for a couple of additional items and was quoted an hourly rate, which was high but acceptable. When I got the bill, I found that they have billed a large number of hours for the additional work - excessive in one instance and impossibly high in another. I really feel like they took advantage of the lack of a firm quotation. I enjoyed working with the crew, but you should never use them unless you have everything nailed down. In addition, on an earlier visit, they got my lake water pump working; the pump wouldn't prime. After replacing the intake valve and piping, they discovered that the problem was a leak in a gasket. So, I paid for material and hours of unnecessary labor, when the problem was fixed in 10 minutes with a dollop of goop. And, now that the lake level has dropped, the intake valve with shorter pipe is out of the water, while the original is still submerged. This, plus their two month delay (until the summer) in getting and installing the sod, meant that much or most of the sod is dead. In the end, I paid $5000 for a partial dead lawn. read more

Worse thing it happened actually THEY CUT HALF THE BRANCHES OF MY CYPRESS TREE that we just planted this Summer on which paid about $1,000 for it. I don't understand why they did that. This should be handled in a professional manner. I would at least expect a tree replacement because it just absolutely destroyed my tree. They never call me back or came here to see the damage they did. That just drove me nuts! The landscape trimming service is absolutely horrific. All my bushes were different shapes and sizes. I have called the company to have the manager take a look at and they just ignored me. They don't work with you if you have a complaint/feedback. Last conversation I had on the phone with them was very disappointing. 2) Do not buy any plants from them to have them do your special project. Despite overpriced, their plants size did not match the quote we originally got it. 3) Workers are somewhat polite but last time they came to my property they were screaming in the back yard and pulled flower roots that are perennial that they weren't supposed to do that either. They did a good job at one time about pulling weeds, but not last time they were here, they left several weeds by my spice bed. 4) They don't come when they say they are coming sometimes. Which again shows me they are not reliable either with day and timing. Very expensive services! Thought they were good, they started services well, a lot of employee rotation, so it turned out being a nightmare at the end! Avoid the if you can... I wish a refund for my last service! read more

They don't even deserve 1 star. They had a few estimators leave the company and since then they overbid their jobs, worst customer service ever, and do not stand behind their work. Had them install a fence, build a landscape at the side of my pool and had them scheduled to do $5,000 plus in landscaping to a home I just purchased. Some nails they used to install my fence were short and the panels were popping out and they refused to come out and fix the problem. They wanted to charge me $550 plus to put two poles into the ground and reattach an existing gate that went down when to put up 40+ feet in new fence I was only charged $1200. They do not care about their customers and referrals. DO NOT use their services. They will sugar coat and then stab you in the back. read more

This review is for their pest control division (Xtreme pest services). We bought our new home in Creek-wood community in Fort Worth TX. Rick dropped a card and spoke to us for almost 40 minutes. Answered all types of questions we had, scheduled the appointment and was very punctual. Very careful, detailed and professional on that first appointment. Louis came for the follow up treatment and was the same way, very courteous and professional. I don't know about their other services, but in my case with the pest control division, Rick primarily was a great person to work with and Louis as well. Hired Purple Care to restore my damaged lawn after some trees had to be removed. For nine months they treated my yard and they were able to bring it back. I was extremely satisfied with the results. So when a spring clean-up was needed, my regular lawn person was unavailable, I called for leaf service. I had cleaned up the front yard myself, this was just the backyard. I was given an estimate of $275. (For reference: It takes me, with a rake one and a half hours to clean my front yard. My regular lawn service, with two workers and one blower takes the same amount of time to do the backyard, where most of the trees are located - total time spent 3 hours.) According to neighbors, three men with three blowers came to service my yard. I was not home at the time, but upon inspecting my backyard later, they had blown a two foot pile of leaves into the back corner of my yard and also into my neighbors' yard. I called for them to finish the job and the very rude woman who took my call told me it would cost more because they had to stop for rain. There was no rain that day until the evening - as verified by the National Weather Service, my family and neighbors as well as personal observation. Unbeknownst to me, before I even got home to inspect the work they had done, they charged my account almost $900. These people are absolute grifters. read more

We had used them at multiple properties over a 3 year period. They started out very good, but the quality of their services notably declined as time went on. When "problems" with our landscape were brought to the attention of the company's owner, we were given continued excuse without corrective results.....especially when it came to the health of our our newly laid lawn. After a full year of services on our new grass, our lawn condition was beyond unacceptable with visible decline. When we asked what ratio of fertilization was being applied to our lawn, the company's owner was confrontational, and claimed that our requested information was "proprietary". I found that very funny when even the "big box vendors" in lawn treatment services were happily share that info with their customer's.....this response was just an affirmation of "Smoke n Mirrors" show dealing with Xtreme Lawn Care. Shortly after the above mentioned converstation, my wife & I contacted a well known Horticulturist affiliated with UT-Austin who came out to our property and completed a detailed soil test/evaluation in order to "see" what was being applied to our lawn. In the Horticulturist words following the tests, "The balance/application/levels were insufficient, thus our lawn was displaying such effects of those treatments". Following that report, we terminated our relationship with this company, and decided to go with another company who's services have been fantastic as our property has reaped those benefits thriving with beautification!! There's several other companies in the immediate area that provide complete landscape services. I suggest that if you are in the market for a comprehensive lawn care/landscape service, look elsewhere beyond this vendor. read more

In early December I reached out to Extreme Lawncare for a quote to replace a portion of the front lawn which was partially taken over by weeds. After multiple phone calls and emails, Clayton (sales rep) said the 2.5 pallets of sod was enough to take care of the MAJOR weed areas and the cost for doing so would be $1,623. I repeatedly asked are you sure that is enough as I really like the price he was quoting me. He said he was very confident it was. To be extra prudent, I sent an email to Extreme Lawncare corporate to STANDBY the work that by all of the weeds will be gone for the payment of $1,623. Extreme corporate emailed back and said they would. I typed below the email from Extreme VERTBATIM. I would provide actual email if there was a way to attach a file on yelp. I have TWO emails from corporate to STANDBY their work and "accurate" quote. They finally started work on the sod replacement couple of weeks ago and then I got a call saying I need 2 more pallets of sod. So instead of 2.5 pallets of sod I actually needed 4.5 pallets. Extreme said it would cost another $1,200 more. So instead of costing me $1,623 it would cost me approximately $2,800 or about $1,200 more. I need to get the job complete and the extra $ will come out of my pocket and I do not want to do further business with Extreme. I had another quote from another lawn vendor that was higher and in hind sight, I should have gone with the other. I am already out of pocket $1,623 so no going back. I would totally understand if Extreme estimate for work was off by 10% or 15% but they were off by 45% and they are the experts that do this day in and day out. How could they be off by 45%? I believe this was a very aggressive sales tactic to get me signed up for a large project and to do a bait and switch when I already committed to a large sum of money. I also have an annual contract with xtreme for chemical treatment of the lawn. They have serviced 3 out of 9 times and they have refused to refund my the unused portion! Unbelieveble! STAY AWAY from the these crooks! I see other people have gotten burned too. This company needs to be publicly shamed. Xtremely pleased for 3 years. Much of my lawn got "take all patch" (it took sending a sample to the Ag service at Texas A&M). Large areas died off, and it has required treatments with peat moss and consistently mowing the grass long to get it controlled. Other lawn services were not able to cut the grass long consistently, as easy as I thought that should be. Xtremes supervisor has taken a real interest, and when I get a new crew I know they have reviewed notes from the previous year. My lawn looks great. read more

Then yall did the back yard, but did noting on the retainer wall or up by the playscape. Thats a good 5x80 foot area. I called about the bamboo removal twice, because I was told that yall would make it a priority. Its been 4 weeks almost...I didnt just cancel because of the bamboo issue. The lady on the phone stated "are you saying they did not apply the chemicals because your assuming or you just didnt see it". As a displeased customer, you dont talk down to them or try to make them feel dumb. A simple, "I'm sorry, let me check into that for you", would have done, but know... She questioned my intelligence and my eyesight, twice! That pushed me over.. if yall had better service, ya might have had a chance... And it was not your first landscape job yall have done with us... Remember last year.. Yall aerated our back yard and laid 2 or 3 overpriced pallets of St. Augustine, with dirt and soil, blah blah blah..
