I don't get my apartment professionally cleaned often, but I had a new roommate moving in, so I decided to make the place extra spic n' span. I hired Purple Fig specifically because they use more natural products and because they seemed like a very community-oriented company. The cleaning was impeccable - they got into all the nooks and crannies I never think of (like the bolts at the base of the toilet). Plus everything smelled wonderful - I think it was almost a very light pine or eucalyptus scent. When I came home a little early the ladies were very polite and warm - they didn't make me feel like I wasn't welcome to be there if I wanted - which is what I've felt with other services. I decided to give the Purple Fig a try after years of cleaning myself or hiring other companies whose quality didn't satisfy. The results: cleaning was practically perfect, service was good. The initial appointment was easily booked. The owner wanted to do a walk-through a few days before but didn't show. Phone call from me, no response for a little while. Later got a callback and we decided to forget the walkthrough--turned out it wasn't necessary anyway. On the day of, the 2 person crew arrived exactly on time, brought all the needed equipment and cleaners, worked efficiently and quietly while I worked from home, and were respectful of my skittish cat. The supervisor came by to check during the clean, much appreciated! My 2800 sq. ft. house was clean in under 3 hours and I paid less than the estimate. I got the deep clean for the first clean and it was worth it! They washed every single slat of my 15 blinds and scrubbed the baseboards in addition to cleaning everything else. I got a call the next day to check on my satisfaction, had a couple of very minor changes I wanted, and they will be taken care of next time. We had The Purple Fig out last week to do a standard whole house clean. Very pleasant to walk into the house and have everything smelling minty fresh after a full days work. Our specific work requests were completed and as well as some pesky items that we rarely get around to. This company is priced slightly higher than some other options but it's nice to know they are environmentally concientious while also taking care of their team by offering living wages and health care options. I was so hopeful!! I found the service to be terrible. I had the service for move in ready. While the fridge was cleaned and the oven as well for almost $400 I had MUCH higher expectations. The bathroom was left with mold in the toilet, a leaf and other particles in a bathroom drawer. There was thick dust and paper left on the wind ledges. The cabinets remained dust. There wasn't any furniture in the 1100 sq ft home. For that kind of money I expected A LOT more. I did receive a verbal apology, but that hardly helpful. after moving to austin and developing really bad allergies, i wanted to eliminate as many "chemicals" in the house as reasonably possible and cleaning products was high on my list. i tried a few different cleaning companies and was always left a little skeptical of how green they all claimed to be which is why i'm so happy i found purple fig - they truly are as eco friendly as they say they are. they cleaned my whole house top to bottom, everything was gleaming afterwards and i looooooved how the whole house smelled pepperminty when they left. they were also extremely efficient and came completely outfitted with all the proper supplies and gear (i've had so many cleaners ask for extra cleaning cloths, swiffers, etc !). my husband even commented how clean the place looked when he returned from a work trip the next day! the best part, at least for me, was that they were all extremely friendly, kind and very open to any requests or suggestions. there's always something a little unsettling about strangers in your home for a few hours but i was so relieved when purple fig arrived. one other thing i might add - i found their rates pretty competitive given the size of the house, cleaning that needed to be done and that they used only green products. read more

The house was spotless and I didn't realize how much my previous service missed - exterior cabinets, light switches, light fixtures, vent fan. I added the oven clean and my oven looks like new. Let's keep it simple here. When I got a call back from The Purple Fig about having my house cleaned they gave me this very confusing scenario where 1 person = 1 hour of labor and 2 people = 2 hour of labor. This is where it gets confusing, if I wanted an actual 2 hours of cleaning I would have to go with 1 person, if I went with 2 people that would have equated to only hour of cleaning. All I wanted is a completely clean house for a flat fee that is reasonable. Based upon the equation I presented earlier it would have been roughly $120 to clean a somewhat small house. My advice coming from the shark tank is keep your cleaning rates competitive, no one is willing to be nit picked about having their house cleaned, especially busy working individuals as myself who deals in financial derivatives on a daily basis and I found this cleaning equation by the Purple Fig much too complex. They did give us a refund though...woohoo! Just trying to give critical feedback here to keep you guys in business and stay competitive :) read more

I was referred to Purple Fig after my friend (who owns a cleaning business) couldn't get up to clean our new home when we needed her to. Haha, how dare her have a life!;) She recommended Purple Fig and I checked their website and the prices were reasonable and they had avail...double win. I spoke with Sarah on the phone and she was so nice and calm and patient as I asked her a gajillion questions. We got the clean scheduled and all was well. I had a really funky time frame to work with because we just purchased the home but we had a lot of upgrades that had to be done and we needed to fit getting it cleaned in there. They were champs and went with it. When they got there, thanks to a water leak (awesome, thanks again vacant home and lazy previous owners), they had to cut the clean short. Now, I will tell you, they cut it short on their own free will. Sarah and Faye came to me and explained how they did everything they could but they didn't want to waste my time or money and pay them to keep cleaning the same things instead of the things they had to use water for. I was so impressed by that and their attitudes and kindness that I will continue to use them for all of my house cleaning needs and I will recommend them every time! I searched diligently through Yelp to find what I thought was the company that had workers with the best work ethic and the company with the most competent management. Honestly, I could care less if they cleaned my house with a gallon of bleach and aerosol Lysol cans. I just wanted professionalism and hard work. In typical guy fashion I usually leave when cleaning services come to clean. I feel like in the past with other companies that they've probably left earlier than promised. There's no way to know that for sure but I feel like I can trust the purple fig to do a highly competent job no matter what time they leave. I've also used handy a few times and they send someone different every time which is a little strange to have different people in your home so often. Wonderful experience! This was our first time using Purple Fig, and it won't be our last. First, they really bent over backwards to work us into a very busy holiday schedule. The crew who came were incredibly friendly, professional, and did a really thorough job. We had the "Deep Eddy" clean -- which I highly recommend if you have pets. If I could give 6 stars... Seriously, everything was fantastic. I'll relate my exceptional experience chronologically. I saw the other reviews on Yelp and decided this was the service for me. Before anything was cleaned the customer service was top notch. I ordered a Deep Eddy for first availability (TPF are very popular.) On the day of two lovely people arrived at exactly 9 am. I left them to clean and didn't return until later that evening. WOW. My life changed in an instant all my self-recriminations about needing to clean my house melted. They cleaned everything in my house. It smelled amazing. I don't even know how things were made so shiny in some instances. They were thorough. They were brilliant. The tub was also a brilliant white. I have two cats. They were as thrilled as I was. My soul was satisfied. I hope I'm getting across how great they are, how satisfied I am. Seriously, 6 stars.
