First time visit, will be my last. Atmosphere- had to shout across the table to be heard above the music. Staff- very good, too bad they work here! Food, ordered the prime rib- medium rare- it was actually medium well too over burned, potatoes were not mashed but squashed with too much garlic, green beans were over cooked and cold. luckily there is a fast food nearby so we didn't go home hungry. Meridian Ranch is a growing community with large population of families with disposable income. Please someone build a decent restaurant in this area. read more

The food used to be amazing when they first opened. Since then we've been here a couple of times and have been majorly disappointed. Food has gone down hill badly. I ordered wings today and they were not fully cooked. They were chewy and the sauce was watery. So I then ordered cheese curds and they burned them. How do you burn or over cook cheese curds. Disappointing that they've allowed their food to go down hill. Also, the guy working the front door is condescending. I would strongly recommend people to stay away. If you look at the pic on the left, that's what burnt cheese curds look like, on the right shows what they're supposed to look like. read more

The food was good, not great. The onion rings are great-but they were the exception. However, the service was minimal, at best. Our waiter was so busy flirting with the women at another table that he neglected his other tables, and we had to ask the hostess for our check and a box. Wings are great. Hot crispy. Good. The dressing dips are watery. Thicken that up please. I want to know why a large beer is 22 oz for some and 26 oz for others. Get rid of the 26 oz mugs that the staff is using to steal from you. If you're authorizing free booze to friends be more discreet. The shush symbol is really obvious. read more

Love this bar!! I moved to falcon 6 months ago and this is one of the best bars out here. They have a great menu, my favorite so far is their American burger. They also have a dart area which is awesome and no one ever goes over there. The staff is very cool, they check up often which is nice. Good family or friend bar. read more

Been here several times, twice in last two weeks. We keep giving it second chances because it's so close to home. We are disappointed every time and won't be going back. Service is slow, inconsistent and unfriendly at times. The food.... is honestly awful. Dry, bland, like they just threw crap on a plate and called it good. The self serve beer is a good concept but they are always out of half of the choices and it's flat tasting. Just not worth it. They need an owner/manager who cares and revamps the entire menu and staffs. JAKs is next door with great beer service and delicious food trucks. I'll be sticking to that! read more

My fiancé and I stopped in once all the hype of the grand opening died down and we could easily get a table with no wait. How soon after the grand opening this happened should have been a warning sign. Our waitress was very nice but must have been new to the job itself as we had long wait times not just for my beer but my fiancé's water as well. Refills were slow coming and once receiving our food we had to keep asking for the condiments we had requested while ordering. The side salad didn't even show up until we had to ask for it after already receiving our entrée! Food was subpar, not bad but no flavor at all and our bill was the only thing we got quickly, but once she'd been given my card it was almost as long a wait as it took to get our food in the first place. Don't waste your time, hit up Jaks next door if you're in the mood for drinks and food trucks or hell even papa johns if you want food. read more

I was really looking forward to having another option in Falcon, unfortunately I was let down. The place had a great feeling and felt clean. We showed up at 5 on a Friday and there was a 20 minute wait, so the hostess suggested the bar. When we didn't order alcohol it really seemed to irritate the bar tender. We ordered the poppers and the po'boy sandwich. I am not exaggerating 2 jalapenos cut in half stuffed and over cooked for $8! Our po'boy was okay but nothing beyond okay and lacked any sort of flavor that would entice me to ever order it again. I have read all of the other reviews regarding "working out the kinks" and hopefully the two things we ordered just so happened to be the worst 2 things on their menu. read more

My original review was very bad, however I am changing it. I decided to return to Purple Toad to see if it has gotten on its feet yet. They have improved a lot. This time I got steak. Last time I got pizza which was not good, but I need to try it to see if it has improved. The rest of my family got what they got last time. The steak I had was delicious. It was cooked perfectly. My family, who had the same meals as they had last time, were very happy. Last time they did not like them, but a month later they were a lot better. My frys and green beans were also excellent. The water still doesn't taste the best, and they need to put salt and pepper shakers on the table. My steak needed a little salt. Other than that, it was great! I will be returning! read more

Went here on a weekday. Happy hour specials were cheap, food and drinks were tastee. Good neighborhood bar type of feel. We recommend.

I have gone a couple of times. First time for drinks with my husband and another time for dinner with a girlfriend. Both times the service was ridiculously slow and the staff seemed flustered and irritated. The drinks were just ok and the nachos were nothing more than nachos you would get at a high school football game. They were horrible and not worth the money. Falcon does not have a lot of options, however I have absolutely no desire to go back. read more

I thought this was going to be a family restaurant but it appeared to me that they tried to be both a family restaurant and a bar. When we went they were training new wait persons so it was chaos. Screaming children, booming music, loud TVs, and a uninspired menu do not add up to good time. We found a appetizer we could share and our dinner choices. Mine sounded good- pulled pork with grilled onion on flatbread but ended up small and blah. Hard to talk above the din so we ate our meals without speaking. Very expensive for having to endure the noise. The purple toad needs to decide whether it wants to be a sports bar or a family restaurant because whatever they are doing it is not working. read more

Unfortunately, the Purple Toad has steadily gone down hill since my first review. Our most recent visit was horrible. I ordered a burger done medium, it was burnt. My wife's cheese steak was burnt, even the cheese was burnt. The kids pizza has changed to more of a flat bread pizza, and our daughter, who loves pizza, did not enjoy it. Sad to see a local place go down so far, but I doubt we will be returning here any time soon. read more

Got seated next to the pool table and beer ball machine, had to dodge kids with their pool sticks on a constant basis. We ordered, the food took over an hour to come out and when it did the sandwiches were cold and the fries were even worse. Meanwhile a couple, who came in 45 minutes after we arrived, had their food and paid the check before everyone in our party got their meals. I wish I could give this place more stars, but our experience just won't allow me to. Pros: ambiance and vibe are great, light and colorful. Great space to watch sports. Good prices. Decent beer selection. Cons: they were severely understaffed, which required our server to cover practically the entire restaurant. She made a valiant effort to serve us well, but honestly it didn't cut it. Super long wait for our food to come (over an hour). Another server brought us three other parties food and we kept saying "nope, not ours" (clearly they need a better mechanism for him to know who is at what table). We didn't get any water refills, except for when we asked for it once. When our food did come, my burger was way over cooked, and my dads was raw and uncooked in the middle. Everything was cold and soggy. They forgot our onion rings so our server promised she'd put another order in and we'd have it in moments. But it took 45 minutes. Finally we just decided to cancel it as we needed to leave. On my way out I asked another server to speak with the manager to share our experience. She told me there was no manager on duty -- which explains the lack of process efficiency and sub par food. Willing to give this place another try, assuming they had an off day. To start, being a part of the culinary industry/ community i understand certain tactics but at some time they shouldn't apply or be used. To start, service was slow at the best. Warm beer, sandwich was missing items that the menu said should be on them, pizza was horrible and was also missing items that the menu said should be on it. I would go with a Walmart frozen pizza next time. When asked if these items should be on the meals the waitress had no clue and said no.I understand over salting food because your a bar and want people to drink, but the fries are like licking a horse's salt brick. Stopped in for a late lunch while driving around the area for a future home. The set up is awesome, bar tender was attentive and nice.
