I've been here on a couple occasions with my family, and have been moderately pleased each time. However, it seems like there is no seasoning on anything that we order. The food would have been really good, had there at least been some salt and pepper. Everything is just a little on the bland side: burgers, wings, frog legs, fries. Cool atmosphere though. read more

We were a little nervous coming here, based on the 3 star average rating. The Purple Toad surpassed our expectation! The atmosphere is very welcoming. There's plenty of tvs on the walls for sports fans, bar top seating and booths, pool table, shuffle board table, and dart boards. They also have a pay and pour beer tap option with about 8 beer options. They also have 15 bar taps with full bar drink options. We ordered the sangria margarita. It is delicious! Their prices are very reasonable with plenty of daily and weekly specials. Our group tried the buffalo chicken wrap, mushroom burger, and shrimp po boy. All of us loved our meals! They have trivia and karaoke nights which sound fun! The tables have a "connect 4" game to play while waiting (good for impatient kids!) We will definitely be back and refer this place to other people. read more

First time trying after new ownership. Same old problems. The atmosphere started off nice with a live band playing outside; they were good too. It was a Friday night and we sat down fairly quickly despite it being packed. And then it went downhill. Our table had an air conditioning vent right above us blowing very cold air really hard. It was even blowing our menus across the table. Eventually another table opened up and we moved. It took them 20 minutes to take our order. Then 30 minutes later, I had to go find our waitress to ask if our appetizers were coming up soon. 15 minutes later we got one of the two appetizers; it was average. 10 minutes after that (75 minutes after arriving) we got our food followed by our second appetizer. I ordered onion rings instead of fries but got fries anyway. They did bring onion rings later though. The half rack of ribs I received was about the size of 2 ribs, was extremely fatty and the meat was tough. My son's boneless wings were little round nuggets that could be considered popcorn chicken. My daughter's pizza was good (she's not too picky about pizza). My wife's food was fine. I also ordered a 22oz beer and got a 16oz beer. When I got the check, I was being charged for the 22oz. It wasn't worth the hassle on a $100 to complain about the $2 difference. The only reason I gave them a second star on this rating was that they gave a veteran discount. It will be a while before I go back. Sad because this place has so much potential. They need to hire more staff, professionally train the staff, and re-evaluate the food quality. read more

I have come here a few times now. The food and drinks are always good. The burgers are especially great. They taste like a homemade, charcoal grilled burger. The cherry lime Moscow mule is delisted, too! And, of course, there is a great selection of beer. read more

For being in Falcon this place is legit. Crazy busy but a good sign. Long wait times which are to be expected. Reasonably priced food and beers which is a plus for me. My flatbread was good but came out borderline warm/cold. The peanut butter and jelly wings are yum-o. Give this place a try. We have been here twice and I am glad to see some new restaurants out in Falcon. Beer is good, service is fine. I like that the skee ball and shuffle board is there to play. We really enjoyed the burgers, they tasted fresh. Kids Mac and cheese was a hit for my son and the bites I had were yummy and cheesy. The onion rings were giant and crispy. My only complaint was the the pesto chicken sandwich. The chicken was rubbery and the roll it was on was hard. I was thinking it was going to be a chicken breast, but it was chunks of chicken and the texture and flavor was off. I took 2 bites and couldn't finish it. I'm not one to complain, and maybe it was the pesto but I did not like this sandwich. Other than that, we are glad that purple toad is around. I probably would've complained but had no legit reason to send it back besides it tasted unappetizing. Stay away from that sandwich and you should be good read more

tried it for dinner one evening & was really disappointed. we got an onion appetiser which was more breading (that wasn't all cooked) then appetiser so was yucky. we got a slopper which made my husband very sick & a vege pizza which was very doughy & not done. there were so many employees--two greeters, another to take drink orders, another to deliver alcoholic beverages, another to serve & another to clean the table. read more

This is a nice little watering hole for a quick bite. They gave a small, select menu but the prices seem high for just hamburgers served on big fancy plates. Not very large eating area and most most of the bar ht. tables wobble horribly, kids have the run of the rest. and is not someplace for quite conversation. They have nice large open picture windows for the views but no coverings so the sun beats down or you squint during late afternoon meals. After being open 9 mos or longer and hearing all the complaints about the sun shining thru the almost clean windows I don't understand why they have not addressed the problem. I really wanted to like this place....let's talk about the first time I went everything seemed ok....meaning food was edible not amazing, service semi consistent but had long wait times in between the server stopping by to check on us...but when we left my girlfriend accidentally left her de it card...whoever stole it which got left with the server... charged over 1700$ too her card and because the relationship was still new she thought it was me....it was tracked and I was proven innocent but even after this felonious act from an employee....my girlfriend convinced me to give it another try. Once again a disappointment, food and service was off the girl literally brought me the wrong change missing over 20$ the change I should have had in her defense could have been a honest mistake she was frazzled but....to her credit she was the only one really trying to do a good job, the rest of the staff including the kitchen staff seemed more concerned with acting like something out of the movie "waiting"....we tried two more times after that food wasn't good and drinks were slow will we go back I don't think so. read more

Today was my first visit to the Purple Toad. I do not intend to return. It is so L O U D I could not hear the folks across the table. We ask our waitress to have the music turned down but she could not, said it was already turned down. She had to leave because she had a migraine. The staff is super friendly and the vibe is awesome but unfortunately the food isn't up to par. We ordered the Cesar salad twice now and BOTH times we found a hair in the salad. It was obviously taken off of our bill both times but still disappointing. Also, the salad came out hot because it was sitting under the heat lamp too long. The wait time for our food was 35 minutes (party of 3) and no one was too impressed with the taste of the food. I will be back for drinks to watch a game or something but unfortunately will not be back for the food. read more

We have been to The Purple Toad three times since they opened...hoping that time will improve the food and their service. Failed, Failed, and Failed again. We have had the All American Burger, the King of Philly, Taco Tuesday, and the House salad. Food is mediocre at best and ingredients appear inferior and do not taste fresh. St. Patty's Day was the last straw. Staff standing around chatting among themselves, twenty minutes to get drinks (three times), and absolutely no urgency when it came to customer service. Falcon needed a new place to go. This is not the place. Shaun, one of the managers is not customer oriented. In order for this place to be successful, they need some improvements. A frozen pizza from digornos would be better. The team might want to understand their specials and charge the customer correctly. Shaun may also want to hide from the customers when they have a raffle from adding tickets to the raffle and hand them out to his friends without following the rules.
