We have ordered cookies from her for a housewarming gift, and didn't have a clue as to what to get. Well it was Emily to the rescue! She had the idea to do cookies in the shape of keys, and also a front door with a wreath on it!! Since I'm not very creative, she was able to just put it ALL together (even the colors!) for me just right off the bat!! They couldn't have been more adorable, and everyone loved their sugar cookies; I felt like the hero all night, and I didn't even do anything but buy them, haha! We'd also gotten a simple cake from Emily a couple years ago for my friend's first birthday party. It was only about 10 people, so my friend didn't want anything over-the-top; she just wanted a really small cake that would be cute for pics. My friend's dad had passed away right before this, and he was a fireman, so Emily created the perfect little cake, designed perfectly for her little guy. On top of that, it was chocolate and delicious!! We've also gotten her holiday cookies-- she sells out SUPER quickly, so make sure you place an order in time! We missed out one year because we waited until the last minute. They're the cutest things I've ever seen!! We will ALWAYS be patronizing Emily, and we feel lucky to have our "own dessert chef" from now on! We kept in touch throughout my planning process and she easily made adjustments, and worked with our budget! My sweet table consisted of customized sugar cookies, cake pops, and lemon bars, as well as other assorted candies to tie in with my pastel color theme (light blue, pale pink, and peach). And along with being a treat to look at, they're a treat to eat as well. I've gotten the opportunity on a few occasions, most recently at Bernheim Forest's ColorFest. I was impressed by first the creativity. Love the paint-your-own cookie kits, which include a white iced cookie and a sheet with edible watercolor paints. And to eat, I got one of the chocolate chip cookies. This was sweet, soft, chewy -- everything I want in this classic cookie. The cake and frosting options looked amazing. In addition to wedding cakes they take orders for cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and a variety of pastries. Orders can be made in person or online. There are delightful servings of pastries (macaroons, cinnamon rolls, scones, tarts, cake slices and more) for sale in the shop. They also serve coffee, hot chocolate and cold drinks. My husband and I shared a slice of carrot cake and it was so moist and delicious. It was reminiscent of my grandmother's carrot cake that I enjoyed years ago. I suggest going early for the best selection, they sell out quickly! There are several seating areas if one chooses to eat in the shop and the space is decorated simply and elegantly. The baked goods take center stage! In addition, the bakery offers workshops and classes about cake decorating and more. Classes are offered for beginner level and for those with more experience. As it was the holidays and my sister requested (politely demands) that I make our mother's bourbon balls, I wanted an easier way to dip the balls into chocolate. First, this is an amazing place just to browse. With all the tools, it is easy to dream of being a professional baker. But I regress. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a man who was so knowledgeable and patient with this novice. He wasn't pushy by any means, just educational and helpful. He explained what I needed and how to do it. I wasn't going to buy chocolate there, as I usually use Guittard chips to dip. But when the salesman said I would not have to temper my chocolate with what they had, I was hooked. The chocolate molds were just what I needed to make this annual tradition so much easier. But the real compliment was when my bourbon ball connoisseur sister told me the chocolate coating was incredible and I had to do it this way next year.
