CASH OR CHECK ONLY!!! An hour of my life I'll never get back. Drove over 30 minutes to try some goodies. Nothing stuck out to me signage wise that they took cash or check only so I go up and order a box of goodies and a coffee and was told "we don't take plastic". Staff was very friendly and told me there was a bank down the street so I walked to the bank and up to the drive-through ATM at which time was not working. It is 2026 who carries cash and who writes checks anymore? Evidently the people in Taylorsville because the antique store I stopped at while walking to my car . A very nice lady when I walked in said "is this your first time in? Just so you know we only accept cash or check." My honest opinion is if you're gonna charge over $30 for baked goods you need to "take plastic". Charge a processing fee like everyone else or do Venmo or something. I wasn't even gonna give a review but, if it can give someone a heads up before wasting time & gas and being blindsided by CASH/CHECK only option then it'll be worth it to me. I'm giving it a 2 because the staff was nice, loved the atmosphere and everything looked delicious. However, can't rate the food if I don't get to try it. Really fun little stop off Main Street. There's so many baked goods and they have lots of breakfast and sandwich options too. Tried a lemon turnover and they were nice enough to heat it up for me - jammy and sweet! Also tried their snowflake latter (white chocolate, peppermint and whipped cream). Dave runs this Restaurant like everyone is family. His bakery items are the best. We always get a salad or sandwich with dessert. I love going here with my friends for lunch. Super cute and food / desserts look amazing. However I haven't actually eaten here yet for 2 reasons. 1) No one waited on us. We stood at the counter for 5 minutes. Excellent little café, especially for a tiny town like Taylorsville. The coffee is excellent and the muffins superb. I always get a chocolate muffin, because, well, I'm deeply committed to my unhealthy relationship with chocolate. The Tea Cup has perfected the chocolate muffin. It's melty chocolate goodness in every bite (but be sure to lick the chocolate off your teeth before smiling or talking). I usually get a second muffin, as well, and usually go with a seasonal pick. Right now, there's an orange pineapple muffin that tastes like Summer. And what goes better with Summer than chocolate? They only take cash or checks. I'm a regular but still forgot to bring cash on one occasion. The super-friendly staff opened a tab for me and told me I could pay for my coffee and muffins on my next visit. Service doesn't get any better than that. I also ordered a cake from them once. It was beautiful and tasted like an Orange Dreamsicle. And was comparable in price to a cake from Kroger. I really can't say enough nice things about this place. If you're in Louisville, come to Taylorsville on a Saturday morning, eat at the Tea Cup, and check out the antique shops along Main Street, as well as the Farmer's Market. LOVE THE smell of fresh baked good as you walk in... and the friendly smiles of everyone (including the customers!) .. all saying you've come to the right place. We had .. the Bradley sandwich .. .homemade BLT with egg salad:) Perfection!! .. I tried the hot turkey sandwich. It was not very good. The turkey was cheap deli turkey and the bowl of gumbo looked like it was from a can. The whole place smelled like bleach and it made the environment uncomfortable. It's obvious they are not sure what they are doing. read more
