They were only a ten minute walk from [The Galt Hotel] which really made all our walks convenient. I walked in to this very cool and comfortable shop and congratulated them that they have the only person from New York who does not drink Bourbon in their shop which gave everyone a smile but they said... "Not too worry, we are more than just straight Bourbon." Loved all the different types of art hanging on the walls, on the shelves and on the floor. It was at that point that they started to give me and my friends different sample of their homemade chocolate and bourbon balls. I read in one review that they have their own certified chocolatier who is making these things and they are good!!! The team here was so kind and helpful and I can tell you that they had everything Bourbon. A fun experience and next visit will bring back some of these items for my friends. I am sure that they too will appreciate. KUDOs to the team at Art Eatables.

I stopped in today for a couple of items for a care package. Immediately I was greeted at the door asking if it was my first time in. I've been in several times for holiday gifts. They have a massive selection of bourbon balls. They've been a huge hit every time they've been gifted. Each time I've visited, they've offered a sample of a bourbon ball. It's a great place to introduce visitors to bourbon balls! I haven't had the chance to do the bourbon tasting here yet but it's definitely on my list. You can add on chocolates!

My husband and I visited Louisville and chose this steakhouse to celebrate our birthdays…read more The restaurant was busy but had a wonderful, cozy steakhouse vibe that's good for a date night, special occasion, or family dinner. We arrived at 7:50 PM for an 8 PM reservation. We got cocktails at the bar, a whiskey sour and a Cosmo. Truthfully, we were not really impressed with our drinks. We were then seated around 8:15 PM. I tend to be picky regarding reservation times and honoring them so I was displeased by the wait... to my surprise this restaurant walked away with a 5 star review regardless. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Provided good recommendations that I'm sure improved our overall experience. We ordered the old fashion to share, per our waitresses recommendation and it made up for the pre-dinner cocktails! Delicious! Our appetizers, the burrata and heirloom tomatoes & stracciatella, were a good start! Good flavor and light enough for the starter. However, the French onion gratinee stole the show. Presentation was beautiful and flavor was on point for a classic French onion soup. I ordered the belly-on pork tomahawk and was very pleased with the tenderness and flavor, especially when I asked it to be cooked more medium well. My husband got the 22oz dry aged ribeye, the repeal way with the crab on top. He requested it be cooked medium rare plus and that's exactly what he received. He expressed how amazing the steak was cooked and the flavor. We shared a side of whipped Yukon potatoes that weren't too hot to dig into! These were creamy/buttery and perfect side for our entrees. As you can imagine, we were too full to have dessert but took a piece of cheesecake to go and shared later. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed the cheesecake. The blueberry compote was a delicious addition but the plain cheesecake shines all on its own! If I'm ever back in Louisville. I will be back and I'm bringing my friends.

They offer valet parking for $14, but street parking was easy to find and just a short walk away. We started with the Caesar salad and the wedge salad. Both were good, although the wedge had a bit too much dressing for my taste. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. The filet was excellent, and while I'm not usually a mushroom person, these were truly outstanding. The bread was also some of the best I've ever had. I also ordered one of the mocktails, which I enjoyed because it wasn't overly sweet. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. Our waiter was efficient, but he wasn't particularly friendly, and the entire meal felt rushed. Several times, someone tried to clear my plate while I was still eating. We also had to ask for more time more than once before ordering because we felt pressured to make decisions quickly. With a bill of over $300, I expected a more relaxed dining experience where we could enjoy the evening at our own pace.

It could just be mediocre pub food, but the food here is very, very good. I don't know why, but when I'm in the south, I get the hankering for a deviled egg. So we started with the deviled eggs (Los Huevos El Diablo), which, despite the name, were not super spicy. They had just the right amount of spice. One thing to know about me is: If I see a patty melt on the menu, I will order that. So I got the Merle's Melt, which is a burger patty with cheddar and Monterey jack cheese, plus bacon and special sauce on buttered toast. It was sublimely tasty! It comes with house-made chips, which were good. They also offer tacos on the menu. One of my children got one steak taco and one chicken taco. The tacos are topped with tomato, lettuce and cojita cheese. I was told that these were very good! My kid eats like a bird, but ate one and a half tacos, so that must say something, right? The Lip Smack'n Mac & Cheese was also ordered, as well as the fried chicken, because the menu says that the fried chicken is award-winning, so how could we not? The fried chicken was super crispy and tasty, and the mac and cheese was creamy and made with large shells, which is the best kind of pasta to use for mac and cheese (in my opinion). The service was great, the lighting was great, and we were seated quickly, even though they seemed busy. It was a good place to have a family dinner in Louisville.

I recently got to sample a goodie cup that included some beautifully decorated items such as chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, marshmallows and a cake. Me personally I'm not a fan of strawberries. My wife and Daughter loved them and they were so good looking I took a bite myself. The chocolate was great and the strawberry was better then other strawberries I've had. Still not for me. Everyone has those weird texture foods they can't eat and for some reason I'm that way with strawberries. I know, I'm a weirdo. Anyways, besides the strawberries in my goodie cup the marshmallows were top notch. Very good flavor a nice standalone treat. These aren't the type of marshmallows you roast over a campfire. The cookies and cake all were very good as Well with great flavor. Overall we were all impressed with what we sampled. We will have to keep this place in mind for future orders especially since my oldest daughter and wife love strawberry treats.

Four of us had an excellent experience for our dinner in Louisville, and besides the food, a lot of that experience was due to our server, Julie. She was great, super friendly and professional, and expertly answered a ton of Bourbon-related questions from my Bourbon loving friend. My wife and I dove into the Southern theme and had a Pulled Pork Sandwich ($16), Southern Colada ($16), Fried Green Tomatoes ($10), and a Southern Gumbo ($10) for dinner. I ordered the Fried Gren Tomatoes to share with the table, and they were wonderful - "Five full moon green tomatoes fried in cornmeal and panko, topped with fresh chives and served with Doc's Remoulade". They were light as a feather, most definitely non-greasy and had a great crunch from the panko and cornmeal. My Southern Gumbo (A hearty stew filled with andouille sausage, chicken and vegetables in savory Cajun broth served over rice. Served with cornbread) was excellent. Great flavor, great spice, plenty of sausage and chicken, and excellent accompaniments in the rice and cornbread. And how could I not mention my Southern Colada, with Michter's US*1 Sour Mash, Pineapple Juice & Coconut. It was quite a bit stronger than any Colada I ever had, but I guess that can be expected when you use an 86-proof small batch Kentucky whiskey in your Colada. Of course, I loved it. This was our second visit to Doc Crow. We were there a few days ago as the first stop on our Louisville food tour and enjoyed a delicious bowl of shrimp and grits. The Doc sure treated us well. PRO TIP Be sure to check out the Doc's jaw dropping collection of bourbon bottles that seem to dominate the various rooms wherever you look.
