New customer here and will be returning! I called Purpose LA after my work to see if they had any available appointments and they did. The person on the phone asked me what time I could come and told him I was coming from Arcadia area and my ETA would be 5:17pm; so I made it for 5:30pm (just in case of traffic). Anyways, I made it on time and got parking on the street, paid $2 for 1 hour (2 hour max btw). Tip: Make sure to download ParkMobile app or have the ParkMobile.io website up so you can pay for parking right away. I walked inside and was greeted immediately and was asked if I had an appointment. I said I did, with Alex. Alex came in shortly after I did. He let me use the restroom before we started. & Oh wow, my experience from beginning to end was great! Alex was quiet (but so was I) and what I liked about Alex, he was nice, respectful, friendly, quick and efficient. His attention to detail was top notch. Usually, when I go to a barber, they rush to get through to the next client. But nope, not here. Alex took his time, to perfect my little head. Also, they wash your hair and blow dry it! I was not used to that and really appreciated that. It was really nice. Like I said, I'm used to barbers just rushing through the process to get to the next client. Needed a haircut and saw this shop on Yelp so I decided to check it out. They luckily take walk-ins so come thru even without an appointment. The barber shop has plenty of seats and plenty of barbers. Outside, there is also plenty of parking. For my first time here, I was helped by Nat. She was sweet and took care of me very well! The place itself is very modern and sleek, with comfy black seats, giant mirrors, and bright lights. Nat was very kind, she hyped me up when showing her the kind of cut I wanted. She also put some tea tree oil and water on my scalp during the cut since I had been out all morning for work under the 90 degree sun. After my cut and wash, I felt like a new man! First time clients get $5 off so my cut came out to $50 instead of $55, without tip ofcourse. Also not sure whose idea it was to have a big cute dog in the barber shop, but it was a great idea! I'll cut to the chase. If you have Asian hair, don't take the gamble and just drive out to LA or OC. For what it's worth, my barber was extremely kind but quite frankly I'm a bit mortified by how uneven my hair is, and how evidently it seems like all of the requests/feedback that I gave during the cut weren't acknowledged at all. I also take issue with the fact that the website states that a shampoo + steam towel service are part of the haircut. None of these services were offered to me, nor was the $5 off service for first timers discount applied as well. It was a really nice experience, I went in for a beard trim and beard facial. Let me first say it the cut was clean and even. I couldn't have asked for more from a clean prospective . The only problem was me because I didn't clearly explain what I wanted. In my head I said fade down off the cheeks leave the the chin longer and under chin.. that's not what came out of my mouth it was a pretty chill environment with a mix of Spanish and urban beats popping off I would totally recommend it read more
