Once I booked the reservation online I couldn't wait until our visit. Speaking of reservations, they are STRONGLY recommended since each group is limited to X number of people (and this number has changed at least once due to Covid19 restrictions). Other advice: free parking across the street in Purrfect Day Cafe marked spaces. Otherwise you will need to find street parking which I believe is metered. Arrive 10-15 minutes early to grab some food or drinks from their cafe/bar. I had a great IPA and a delicious peanut butter and chocolate Tortie scone. Wear clothes that can get hairy, duh. If you are wanting to reserve the party room, call/fb message, etc and arrange it beforehand. When the room is ready (and the awesome staff cleans between groups) everyone is briefed on policies and best practices for handling the kitties and is also able to wash hands or use the sanitizer spray. Once inside, I recommend sitting on the floor if possible since you will be closer to the cats, but if mobility or other reasons prevent you, sitting on one of the benches or seats will be fine too. At first most of the cats were playing and hanging out with other people in the room but eventually some wandered over and we had three to five cats playing with us and just being silly kittens. It was wonderful. Eventually a staff member will come inside and mention the remaining time left (20 minutes, 10...). At some point we found our kitten and he rested on our lap probably letting us know he picked us ;) One is of course not required to adopt a kitten but you will certainly be tempted if you love little cats that are full of personality and need a home, so keep that in mind. Everyone eventually leaves the play area (and timing is just right at about 50 minutes) and if you want to adopt a kitten, you can notify staff and they will put a piece of tape around the kitten's name collar. The following process may change since we went the first weekend so always check their site or speak with staff. We came back the next day with a cat carrier (they can supply those at an additional cost too) and sat down with a worker from Kenton County Animal Shelter and another PDC staff member. We were told about our cat's vaccinations and provided the necessary paperwork. We were also given two doses of some kind of oral syringe for the cat. Some kind of antibiotic I believe. We paid about $130 and were out the door with our cat. Fast forward a couple days and the little guy is sick with GI issues. It was not pretty and smelled worse than an outdoor music festival porta potty. I have no idea why he was sick but he in turn made our two other cats sick so a visit to the vet was required which cost about the same price as what I paid for him. Moral of the story, be ready for additional expenses with your adopted cat and be ready to take care of any serious medical needs. We should have had him checked by our vet immediately after adoption but we felt the reassurances from the vet staff and the documentation were sufficient. I can't place blame in anyone especially PDC since all proper adoption procedures were followed. Sometimes life happens and thank God we have means and access to a great vet. I would 100% return again to play with the absolutely adorable kittens and look forward to having group events planned at this location. At the current rate of $15/hr, this is perhaps some of the least expensive therapy out there, ha ha. read more

I saw the recent Covington Grub Crawl promotion online and was influenced to explore and support more of my local area- I'm so glad I came by Purrfect Day! There is a small parking lot across the street specifically for cafe patrons which is convenient. I was happily welcomed in by the staff; the space is clean and hip! The barista was happy to help me and recommended a specialty drink. I didn't go into the cat area but sat near the window to watch and destress with my sugar cookie (sweet and rich!) and drink (wish it had a bit more coffee kick but overall tasty) Will definitely be back with some family that would love to pet some kitties! read more

95% of the cats were sleeping and didn't want to be bothered, much less play. Very disappointing as we were wanting to hold more than 1. And the one we did hols only let us hold him 20 seconds. Also said they were introducing kittens and there were no kittens and when we got there, they said they wouldn't have any until June. Not only is this cafe one of the cutest and coolest places in the area, the staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful! You can tell they enjoy coming to work. A very clean cafe too! The kitty room gives you an opportunity to watch how a cat plays and interacts before adopting. Some are snuggle bugs and some enjoy hanging out in the window, alone. I adopted my newest cat Grover from here in September. The staff were really helpful and encouraging with my decision to adopt. The paperwork didn't take too long and they provided the medical records Kenton County has since being in their care. The drinks and snacks were great too! I also bought a super cute pride shirt! It's amazing to have another place in the area that's outspokenly lgbtq+ supporting. All in all, the only complaint I could come up with is I would like to see a couple more snack options, a minuscule thing. Stop by if you're in Covington, you won't be disappointed! read more

We had so much fun at Purrfect Day! The facility was extremely clean and the employees and owner were very kind and friendly. There were many cats to play with and the adoption prices were very reasonable. We weren't able to take a cat home due to apartment restrictions, but we will definitely be back to play with the cats again, and we will come here when we are able to adopt. You could hear them gossiping behind the counter, I waited for a while before anyone even noticed I was there. Lovely spot to go to get your fill of cuddly cats without the upkeep of having one at your home. They had some delicious snack options and a surprisingly wide selection of alcohol. With 'cafe' in the name, I expected more coffee options (no espresso drinks), but that's alright. This place was incredible! A nice little cafe with lots of cats! The online reservation system is great, and they have excellent procedures for the cats and humans especially in the COVID- era. I had a regular black coffee from here which was nothing special, but was fine. They do a lot of specialty drinks, and I'm guessing that is where they excel. Lots of great info on the cats history and it seems like they really adopt a lot of cats! Pro tip: Book yourself as early in the day as possible. We visited and five of the cats we were interested in were already claimed earlier that day which can be a bit heartbreaking. The good news is that they have no shortage of cats! read more

So im a dog person through and through. However my husband is a cat person and because i have allergies we have never been able to own any pets. I thought it would be fun to surprise him with an evening here since they charge only $15 to spend and hour in a room full of kittens and to pet and play with them. I made sure i arrived heavily medicated with allergy medicine and was prepared for the place to stink like animal......but then to my surprise it didn't! The play room didn't have any type of pet odor at all. I imagined the room filled with hair and every seating area covered in it, but it wasn't. It was a clean and fun experience and it turned me into a fan of cats which was completely unexpected. I took stars off because while for the most part this place appears clean and its super nice that the kitten play area is a completely closed off space separate from the café portion, it was extremely unsettling, and to be frank, disgusting, that when my husband and i ordered our drinks there was a halo of fur on the woman preparing our drinks that she kept brushing off of her while making them and it just grossed me out. And while they were priced reasonably they were just ok. And certainly not worth the trauma of watching her make it. That being said, i will definitely return, because how cute are kittens???
