We adopted our first dog, Kirby, from here many years ago. The adoption fee was reasonable for all of the medical care that he got before we adopted him. They get a bad reputation for various things, but they do the best they can with the resources they have. I personally don't agree with waiving adoption fees, but I know their reason for it is to get dogs and cats adopted to make room. I used to bottle feed orphaned kittens for this location. They were great to work with, provided supplies and support when needed. I can no longer do fostering but a few months ago I adopted 2 cats from the medical unit. They had gone to every length to help my cancer cat and both are fantastic loving pets. I never saw or encountered any problems or lack of anything short of great, clean care for all the animals there. read more

If I could retract the one star I must give, I would in a heartbeat. Recently, I was in a situation where I would have to surrender my dog. She had become a danger to herself, as well as my other two dogs. Their new managed admissions department is set up to receive owner surrenders, so I called. I left a voicemail. I called again the next day, asking to speak to someone. I was told to leave a voicemail, and would be contacted within 24 hours. I also emailed the managed admissions department to inform them of the situation. The initial email was sent on September 10. I received my first contact on September 23...nearly two weeks later. In this process, only four days after the email, my Sasha died. I did not know the extent of her issues, and how sick she was. She probably would have been euthanized...this is not the point. They sent an email, saying they were sorry for not having emailed sooner, but they couldn't receive a dog with a bite history. This could have been really helpful before my dog died!! I could have figured out other arrangements instead of waiting for a response from an organization whose sole existence is to help animals find their proper place. Then, they claimed that my voice mailbox wasn't set up and could not leave a message, after calling several times. I work from a mobile office...my voicemail MUST work fine, as I receive voicemails and calls all the time. So, the blame was put on me instead of assisting with the issue. As a pet lover who has mourned the loss of her dog and had to make extremely difficult choices in an effort to protect all the living beings of my house, I am infuriated by the lack of care that SPCA Cincinnati shows to its customer base. I have no problem letting everyone else know the same. If they said they could not help me, it would have been better than flat-out ignoring my situation. SPCA Cincinnati has lost me as a potential donor, and I hope to encourage others to place their rescue support dollars with other venues that seek to support owners in trouble. DO NOT adopt a kitten from this place!! Save yourself the pain and heartbreak of putting a kitten to sleep. Wish I could give negative stars. My boyfriend and I adopted a sweet kitten on 10/18/19 and the ASPCA claimed he was born on 7/24/19. This would have made him just shy of 12 weeks and he had been neutered the day before we adopted him. The first night with him home, we did not notice anything weird. However, within the next day or two, we began to notice that he was barely eating. I took him to Animal Care Center in Blue Ash due to a free appointment that the ASPCA offered. Do not go there either, I blame them as much as the ASPCA for what happened to our kitten. To summarize, the vet said he was healthy even though I expressed he was lethargic, barely eating, not playing, bloated, had white gums, and sleeping literally all day. They didn't take his temperature and avoided my questions. Although, the doctor did say that he was younger than 12 weeks. Not to stray from the ASPCA, but it is vital to the story. His vet visit was Monday 10/21 and the rest of the week he seemed to get worse. His lethargy increased along with his belly bloat. Thinking that maybe he was too young to eat solid food, mixed with the impression of him being healthy from the vet, I tried giving him formula. His bathroom visits were prolonged and irregular and nothing seemed to work. His condition landed him in my usual vet in the area (Noah's Ark) on 10/28. While explaining his issues with the nurse at the front desk, she stated that she did not think he was 12 weeks either and estimated him to be around 10 weeks. That might seem like a small difference, but kittens develop fast in a short period of time. I blame myself for not taking him to a trusted vet in the first place, but what is done is done. Once with the vet, they took his temperature and it was 103 degrees. They also did a fine needle aspirate and drew yellow fluid from my poor baby's abdomen. He was diagnosed with feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) which is ALWAYS FATAL!! We decided to have him euthanized because he was clearly suffering and I don't think he would have made it another few days. Not only did we lose our baby, but this has put our other 6 month old kitten at risk for the very contagious Coronavirus which can then mutate into FIP. He is a strong boy and on top of his vaccines, but the risk is still there. They told us that FIP is generally spread from the infected mother to her kittens and this was likely the case with our baby. Later that day, we drove to ASPCA Cincinnati to talk to the manager. I called ahead of time to tell them I was coming and the lady was so rude and kept telling me she didn't understand what I wanted. The manager we spoke to was friendly and told us we could have had him euthanized there for free, however they could not reimburse the $120 vet costs, which I believe would be appropriate since he developed the condition in THEIR hands, not ours. The best she could do was offer us a free kitten and tried to sell us discounted meds for our other cat. First of all, Coronavirus can live for weeks and even months in a contaminated setting. She seemed educated on the virus and it's so mind blowing that she would even think that we would want to induce this on another kitten. I am beyond words. So, if you are going to adopt a kitten, avoid this place like the plague. I was all for adopting from kill shelters, but this has left me speechless. Our other kitten is from ASPCA Sharonville and I actually do recommend them. Their facility is a million times cleaner and the staff is so friendly. I spoke with someone there about when they allow kittens to adopted out and they said when they reach 2.2 lbs. Our kitten was only 2 lbs when ASPCA Cincy adopted him out. This is also the minimum age of neutering AND I discovered that surgery can be a factor in the mutation of Coronavirus to FIP! It is really all too much. I'm sorry for such a lengthy review, but our story needs to get out there. FIP is a rare virus, but the vet told us that shelters and areas with many cats can hasten the spread of Coronavirus. Although the manager here said they don't see it in shelters often does not mean it's not there. A combination of prior infection, weakened immune systems, lack of vaccinations, and young age are all factors that can bring on the FIP mutation. The least they could have done would have been to cover the $120 euthanasia/cremation services, however this can't be done because they are a "non-profit." It is really not about the money though, it's about doing what is right. I have included a few photos of our kitten, Kino. I have volunteered for the SPCA Young Professionals Board for the past 4 years. The SPCA has to take in all animals, it doesn't get to be choosy as some other shelters are. They do the best work with the resources that they have available. I believe that the Board and the volunteers truly do care about the animals and taking the best care that they can. They have a great event every year called the Fur Ball which raises money for the organization. If you are looking to adopt a pet I would definitely stop by the shelter. read more

I got my dog from this location in may; and I am in love with my pup now . He came out with kennel cough and a skin disorder . However with the number of dogs they take in , these things are inevitable. You get a free vet visit with each adoption if you go within a week. I do wish the dogs could be less crowded but I think staff is working with what they have on their hands. The first picture is in may and the Second is from a week ago . I recently got a dog from the Northside SPCA. The dog is great and my family definitely loves her and we're all thankful that we were able to get such an awesome dog from this shelter. I went in to meet some dogs after having to put my 10 year old rott mix to sleep. I was taken aback at first by this shelter. There was crap right outside the door leading to the kennel area. They picked most of it up and used a high pressure hose to spread the rest of it around. The staff that get the animals out of their cages seemed pretty indifferent about what they do and they were pushy. All four staff members that retrieved dogs for me asked within five minutes whether or not I wanted it. How do I know whether a dog is right for me after spending five minutes with it? I need a bit more time than that. The kennel area stunk and staff operated the hoses to spread crap around several times in the hour and half I was there. There weren't flies all over the place or anything, but the smell was pretty strong. The dog I got had kennel cough. Of course, I didn't know until the next morning when she was dripping snot all over my house. Two vet visits and $250 later she's doing better now. She's a great dog and totally worth the money. She was a bit under weight when I brought home and put on a few pounds fairly quickly, which she's maintaining well. I don't know whether her cage mate robbed her of food or what. I gave this SPCA three stars, which I consider a passing rating, here's why: They care for a massive number of animals and I would imagine that perfect cleanliness is difficult. With so many animals I would also imagine that keeping tabs on each animal's health is virtually impossible. How much can you expect when it only costs $20 to adopt a dog? If it had been like other shelters that charge $100+, I would have raised some hell. If you're considering adopting an animal, you should at least check this place out. They may have the right animal for you. You may step in some crap and your nose may be assaulted, but they're cheap and they'll let you hang out with an animal for a good long while before you decide to take it home with you or not. read more

Just plain awful! I don't know if the people who work there are clueless or liars but either way, I'd stay away. The cages were unclean, It smelled disgusting. Dogs appeared malnourished. No water or food bowls in sight. I adopted a dog yesterday from the Colerain location and never even made it home since we had to go to the emergency vet. $500 later, he had a fever and other issues. I don't know if or when he will get well... This is really unacceptable. A very sick dog is NOT ready for adoption! I'm upset and horrified beyond belief! Maybe some of the folks there mean well but my impression is that no one there knows anything about anything. You don't have to be a vet to have common sense. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. On June 8th my sons and I found a baby injured goose on the side of the road in some grass. His flock left him. He had a limp which I assume was from a broken leg but appeared to be healthy otherwise. My 11 year old son wanted to rescue him and I wholeheartedly agreed. The nearest SPCA in Sharonville was closed so I drove to a nearby police station. The officer contacted the SPCA and they planned to pick up the goose. I understood that the goose would be rehabbed and later released. My sons and I left the police station very happy knowing that we did the right thing for this goose. The next day I called and spoke with a man on the phone. Honestly, he could not have cared less. I asked him about rehabbing the goose and he basically told me that there is no rehab as geese have no value and he would be euthanized. My heart sunk. I then drove to the nearest SPCA shelter (the same one that was closed) in hopes that I was given bad information. The girl there was very sweet and understanding. She is the kind of person who should be working at the SPCA, not the other guy. She did not recall seeing a goose come in and said that he was more than likely taken to another location (Colerain). She looked in the system and couldn't find a goose but she did look a little further and he was entered as a duck. Once she found it she read the address where he was picked up from...which was the police station. The person who took him in couldn't even list him as the right type of animal. When she read the records she said "oh no". He had already been euthanized, less than 24 hours later after he had been picked up. What was done was in humane and unethical. Whoever heard of euthanizing an animal with a broken leg? Please, if you have any type of animal DO NOT take them to the SPCA. They will have little to no chance of living. read more

This is the third time I was told that they will pick up an injured animal (wild baby rabbits, baby opossum (I know, but really) and now an injured morning dove (broken wing). Adopted a dog from the Cincinnati location, he had been there since January 5th waiting to be fixed ,they barely let us interact with him, we noticed he had a sorta "cough" and they said it was just "allergies", within a HOUR of owning this dog, he had to be taken to the vet due to kennel cough,(thank god we didnt own any other dogs) Called the SPCA and they pretty much told me to get lost, NOT EVEN overnight, he had to be rushed back to the vet due to a SERIOUS infection from his neutering, everything was oozing puss, he couldn't even walk, and he was screaming from the pain, not to mention they told us he had been fixed 2 days prior to us adopting him, and gave us NO medicine for him. I recently adopted a 1yr old pit/lab mix I had to return him after 7 days he was fine with my other 2 dogs but my daughter brought her 2 dogs to my house he was in the yard with all the dogs and after about 2 hrs of playing he attacked her pit/terrier mix after a trip to the vet her dog will recover fine...With 6 grandkids visiting my home frequently and my dogs I couldn't have trust in this dog. THE MOST DISGUSTING AND DEPLORABLE ENVIRONMENT EVER. Went in to adopt a second dog from the SPCA (original pup from the Sharonville location...). The cages had not been cleaned for what looks like the entire weekend - went in Sunday at 3:00 pm. There were feces EVERYWHERE in piles, against the walls of the cages, on the middle of the walkway. Worse, some of the stools were bloody. In the event that you could find a dog that wasn't already sick with parvo, kennel cough, or distemper, a sick dog would QUICKLY INFECT a HEALTHY dog with the piles of feces stacked in each cage. Dogs were stacked 5 high in some cages - docile submissive dogs roomed with ornery, vicious ones. Poor things don't stand a chance to come forward when a human walks up to the cage for fear of getting it's face ripped off. Worst moment of the trip - when walking the lines of cages I noticed ALL the "Employee Only" doors were WIDE OPEN. One of the skinniest, sickest, most terrified dogs ran out of this area and into the main walkways. It practically clung to my leg looking to run. I walked to the gated area (wide open, mind you) and multiple cages of what I can only assume of "Death Row" were open with dogs missing. I had to be pulled from the pound crying.. The volunteers are busy walking healthy, well-behaved dogs, parading them, in front of the building... Almost to say "Here is the best of the best, don't look at the rest." Bloody feces. Malnourished dogs. Dogs fighting each other in cramped quarters. My only saving thought about this place is that they will eventually be put down and not have to endure sickness, violence, fear, and pain for long. Humans do this to animals, not fellow animals. SPCA should be ashamed. How much money do they get yearly to maintain their facility and they can't even clean the cages regularly, let along keep an eye on the sickest of animals? No proper care. We adopted a senior dog but within 24-hours we realized he wasn't a good fit. He had been in and out of the shelter for 2 months and I think that was an unfortunate contributor to some concerning behavioral issues. They tell you upfront that they don't give refunds but you can return the dog for 30 days so we figured it was low risk adopting a dog we barely knew. The adoption process was friendly and welcoming. However the return process the following day was full of insults and quilt trips. It wasn't an easy decision to bring him back but the staff ganged up to make us feel even worse. We were already feeling horrible and the workers at SPCA were very unprofessional. They excused themselves by saying they are passionate for the dogs and cats, but it simply isn't necessary and ruins my impression of this organization. We thought we were doing the right thing by bringing him back to the facility after we realized we couldn't provide for the dogs needs. If you do decide to return, be prepared for verbal harassment. read more

I've been to many shelters in this area and the spca is by far the nicest I have been to, I adopted a cat from the location in Sharonville about a month ago and couldnt be more pleased. My only concern is honestly the smell but I'm guessing that's probably normal because of all the animals housed there? I went on a Saturday and it was clearly very busy, we had to wait awhile and you could see they were definitely understaffed and everyone was doing a millions things. I was a bit frustrated at first but when we got to the desk they couldn't stop apologizing for us having to wait for our adoption. Well worth taking a little extra time to make sure we got our sweet (renamed) Bea home! I gave 4 stars because we did have to wait for a bit to finalize our adoption. read more

A stray kitten wondered onto my front porch and wouldn't leave. I decided to take a picture and post this kitten on Craigslist lost and found. I had the kitten posted for 3 days and no inquiry's. I decided to take the kitten to the Colerain SPCA intake. The next day the owner called me and sent me pictures of the kitten to find out it was her kitten. I told her I took it to the Colerain SPCA. She called and spoke to an employee named Sharon whom she said treated her with no respect at all. The owner contacted me and I then called myself to try to get information on her getting her kitten back. Unfortunately I also had the experience of talking with Sharon. She is very disrespectful, doesn't care,sounds as if she is miserable in her job and she ended up hanging up on me. I never got a straight answer from her. She gave me 2 different answers. After she hung up on me I called right back to find no one would answer the phone at all. She is a terrible employee with no communication skills at all. This review relates to both the Hamilton County SPCA and Ohio Alleycat Resource because they are working together. Ohio Alleycat Resource is a firm believer in TNR (trap, neuter and return). We have had 2 of our 9 rescue cats neutered by OAR. We are not opposed to cats (we have 9 rescue cats and 1 rescue dog), but we are opposed to the TNR concept. With TNR, the cat is spayed or neutered and returned to the area in which it was found. As I see it, the huge problem with TNR is that the cats are left to fend for themselves after they are released. If no one is feeding the cat, as is usually the case, the cat will kill native songbirds and other small mammals, often by the thousands, over the lifetime of the cat. TNR cats are also exposed to the risks of all cats that are allowed to roam: disease, fights, being hit by cars, being shot at, poisoned, etc. Since March 2015, we have had a cat in our neighborhood that kills at least 5 songbirds per day in our 1/8 acre yard. The population of cardinals, mourning doves, blue jays and woodpeckers, all ground feeders, has been particularly devastated by this cat. Every bird's nest has been pulled from the trees and no nestlings have survived this year due to the cat hunting all the birds. The cat has also killed voles, chipmunks and other small mammals on our property. The cat is very thin and unhealthy looking. We cannot take in any more cats; we have too many already. We have built our rescue cats two large screenhouses, but we still have too many cats in 1400 square feet of home and cannot take in more. I do not allow any of our cats to roam. In an effort to stop all the bird killing and the spraying of our screenhouses by roaming cats, we have spent over $1000 trying to keep cats out of our yard. We have chicken wire fencing around the entire yard, which is topped by netting and hawthorn branches zip-tied to the top and placed at the bottom of all fencing. We have 2 scarecrow sprinklers. We have laid chicken wire on the ground all the way around the fencing. The chicken wire is covered with the peels of oranges and lemons. STILL, the cat is able to get into our yard many times per day to kill despite all the barriers. After trying to trap this cat since April, we finally successfully trapped it at 9pm on Thursday, August 13. We took it to the SPCA as soon as they opened at noon on Friday, August 14. I felt terrible to have to take a cat to the SPCA, but I do not believe saving the life of one cat is a fair trade-off to the hundreds of native songbirds and other mammals that are killed by this cat. The very next day, I found the feathers of 2 cardinals and 3 mourning doves in our yard. These were clearly fresh kills. I was shocked to find these new kills because the only cat that was killing in our yard was the one we took to the SPCA. I called the SPCA and found that they released the cat to Ohio Alleycat Resource the day we brought it in. The cat had a tipped ear and had already been spayed or neutered. The SPCA recorded that the cat was about a year old and weighed 5 pounds, clearly an undernourished cat. The SPCA said that OAR took the cat back to our home that afternoon and released it into our front yard. As long as the cat has been spayed or neutered, this is their policy. I had no idea such an agreement existed between the SPCA and OAR. We are right back where we started in April, but now we have a likely trap-shy cat and nowhere to take it if we are able to trap it again. I completely disagree with this policy of both OAR and the SPCA. They are not doing justice to either the cat or the native wildlife population. read more

My mom and I went to this location on 9/12. The location itself is great as it is large with many animals to choose from. I am giving two stars because the way we were treated by the staff was unacceptable. It's a shame because you'd think the workers would have a little compassion since they're working around animals. We waited in line to speak with someone and learn more about the fostering program for kittens. The girl we spoke to was very unprofessional and rude to us and looked at us like we were dumb when we asked her. She snapped "you do know you have to foster at least 3 of them" when we mentioned we were interested. The other man there did everything he could first to not help us and we felt invisible. They were so unhelpful and gave us attitude when we asked questions, it was almost like they wanted to prevent us from adopting. It's pretty sad that the workers aren't more personable because we left upset and not wanting to deal with those people. We will adopt at a different location. The poor animals (especially the dogs who are cooped up in a smelly, tiny cage) deserve people who are a little nicer and compassionate to potential adopters. read more

Very disappointing experience. Adopted a cat only to find out 2 days later it has a respiratory virus that would require lifelong medication (cat is only 2 months old). Had I been advised of this beforehand, I would not have adopted this cat. Of course, I have no way of knowing if they were aware of the problem, but as they had just given it a round of shots and had it fixed, I assumed they would know if it was healthy or not. I returned the cat and will not be back to this shelter again. Even when I returned the cat, in tears, they were rude and treated me like I was the problem. I've disinfected my home and will be looking elsewhere to adopt a kitten or cat. read more

Given the ENORMOUS volume of animals that this organization must handle, the Cincinnati SPCA does an admirable job of placing adoptable pets in homes where they have a chance at a better life. Our family recently added a 7-year-old silky terrier to our mix of canine friends. Thanks to the SPCA, he arrived fully vetted, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, with a current Hamilton County dog license, collar and leash, all for $40. FORTY DOLLARS. And they do this for literally THOUSANDS of animals each year. It's easy for naysayers to post a negative review based on a perception that the SPCA's response re an injured wild animal was inadequate. Unfortunately, because so many people fail to spay or neuter their pets and/or neglect, abandon or abuse them, the SPCA must make difficult choices in allocating its limited resources among countless animals in need of help. The sad fact is that not every animal can be saved, but the SPCA should be applauded for saving as many as they do. They've earned my respect and gratitude for saving the latest little guy to land in my life. read more

I've seen some good reviews and some bad ones. I love shelters. I love everything they do and I love what they stand for and all the animals they save but there are some shelters that just seem like they'll hire anyone and this is that kind of shelter. The staff seemed like they could care less. I adopted a dog from their about a month ago and when I adopted him he was sick. He was just laying in his cage and looked so miserable. He had his bordetella shot (kennel cough) but he somehow still had kennel cough. I had to take him to the vet and he didn't get to play much for the first week we had him. He's fine now and the most perfect fit for us but I don't approve of the Cincinnati SPCA in Colerain. The man who got my dog out of his cage seemed like he was getting frustrated because he couldn't seem to get the dog to go in the direction he wanted him to go. They also got my dogs age wrong!! They said he was 3 years old, I'm not a veterinarian but I at least know that there is no way a dog can be 3 years old and not have all of his teeth grown in yet. Also, they used to ask for a copy of your lease and all kinds of identification and made you jump through hoops to get a dog, now all they do is have you sign your name on a piece of paper that gives a description of the dog you're adopting and look at one form of ID. Anyone could walk into this shelter and adopt a dog for $40 and do ANYTHING with the dog and that's horrible. They not only have a dirty facility with poop everywhere but they place dog aggressive or food aggressive dogs in cages with other dogs and when you try to make them aware of the fighting happening in a cage they don't even check on the dogs. They couldn't care less. They also have a lot of very unhealthy dogs there. Not only are there emaciated dogs in stray hold who need medical attention, and clearly don't belong to anyone because they're nothing but bones, but they also have sick dogs in the adoptable dog section. They either need to raise their adoption fee or something because they clearly don't make enough money to support this shelter. The only reason I would recommend this shelter is so people would rescue the poor dogs that have to live there in those conditions. I can't bring myself to take a dog to a shelter because I've seen this shelter and I know how bad it gets. 90% of the dogs there are mislabeled as "Pit Bull" mixes and they put dogs to sleep so often it makes me sick. I am sorry if this is insulting to passionate and caring volunteers at this facility. It is not meant to be hurtful but the processes and efficiency of this operation are abysmal and it is resulting in overwhelmed workers, overrun facilities and absolutely terrible conditions for the animals. There is nothing humane about this place! In this day and age of the web & social media, there is absolutely no reason a picture of a lost animal can't be posted immediately for desperate owners to view online while being able to continue their feverish search for their lost dog/animal. This simple addition to the process would result in less dogs for you to take care of and the ability to focus attention on dogs who don't have loving families searching for them. We were desperate to find our puppy and we needed to focus our time utilizing the daylight. We assumed the SPCA was more organized and efficient but if we would have known they have no ability to manage the number of dogs they are receiving we would have checked earlier and more often. Every call to this facility is worthless. They make no effort to connect these calls with the lost animals because their process is completely disorganized. Again, a pic on facebook and a website would help relieve this as would a system focusing on pets who arrive in the last 48 hours when desperate owners are searching feverishly. Finally, we had a friend willing to drive there to see if she was there while we continued to search for her. He i.d.'d her for us so once we arrived at the facility, we were able to immediately go to her and i.d. her. She was crammed in a cage with another dog, both covered in urine, crap, soaking wet and no water bowl. We tell the person at the front desk we found her in the back and she says, "what is her tag number?" No one told me we needed a tag number so I run back where she continues to struggle to be let out of the miserable cage. The worker who was back there, who helped us and could have told us we needed a tag number struggles to read the number. She finally gives it to me, all the while our puppy crying and scratching the cage with her already raw and bloody paws. I come back to the front and the person who sent me back, is now helping someone else (inefficiency!) Someone finally strolls to the desk, looks at her computer for a min. while I try to wait patiently, and then acts like I just walked up, "oh, hi, can I help you?" Sound familiar DMV? We immediately prove she is ours from pictures on our phone but they still want to process the "paperwork" before they let her out of the cage. Still barking, whimpering and scratching to be reunited with us. No, we need to complete the "paperwork", not that we couldn't do that while she was by our side, apparently, she needed to continue to suffer while all the important "paperwork" was completed! Finally, 30 minutes later, the release was approved and radioed, apparently to a black hole. 10 min. goes by as we wait in the lobby while workers did nothing behind the desk, another familiar experience with government run agencies. I storm through the kennel doors to see what is taking so long with no one to be found and our puppy still in her miserable cage. I go back to the lobby and ask someone what is taking so long. A couple more radio conversations and finally, one of the workers behind the desk walks back to see what is going on. I follow her and she is met by another worker. They snicker about the a-hole making a scene (me), but they still, non shchillontly get her out of the cage. They wouldn't let me hold her as we walk back to the front and she continues to whimper and cry and struggles to be reunited with me. It was as if this is some sort of official Ohio law to keep her away from the owner until the SPCA does their official tag removal ceremony. The worker even pushed my hands away when I tried to console her while he removed her prison tag. I am sorry, but there is no excuse for this! Once the owner of the dog has been confirmed the person who did the confirmation should be walking back to release her to the owners and then you can process the "paperwork!" (and that advice comes with no consulting fee). None of the other ceremonial bs which wasted our time and yours while you could have continued focusing time on the dogs who actually need your care. Don't get me wrong, this organization is not a lost cause. It would only take a few updates and changes to the processes to relieve some of the stress. Social media and the internet desperately need to be added into the reception process at this and all lost animal facilities. Any person under 30 can help you figure this out. I was just at the Conrey road located in Sharonville looking at possibilities to adopt a kitten. I recently lost a cat and was trying to cope with that and open up my eyes and heart again to care for one. I walk in and see the baby kittens that would have had to been fostered. I go to pet one and all i hear is "dont TOUCH those kittens" which I do understand because they are so little and can get sick very easily. I basically got yelled at for touching a kitten, im sorry but I did read the signs above the cage that said do not take them out. Nothing at all about touching them. I then went back to the rooms with cats and find one that I was starting to like. I picked him up and was bringing him to the desk to just simply ask about the kitten. Before I even get five steps tward the counter an employee with red hair about 5"5 and gaged ears yelled at my to take the kitten back it has already been adopted in a very rude and unprofessional way. I was not upset about the kitten at all but with the way she treated me once I walked into the building. I left the building in tears because how of how I was treated. I then came back in to talk a manager who was not trying to help or adress the sitituation at all. If that is how you treat your cusomers that really makes me wonder how you are treating your animals when we are not looking. You will never see me step foot in this location ever again and I will deter everyone from going there. read more
