At first I was concerned because my dog has separation anxiety and she wouldn't want to stay and every time I would pick her up she would be a little scared, but once I let them know that issue they were very understanding about it, I still have that issue but it's OK my pup survives. If i ever did have a concern they would either tell me The day of or I would confront them about it and they would check the security cameras and tell me what went on which made me feel so better. Jessica and her mother who work there are always very helpful and super nice, from the days that I've always taken her. Definitely never coming back. Just wanted to get my two dogs nails cut and told them specifically if they weren't long enough that it wasn't necessary. I've never had such a terrible experience at any groomer. They had told me that one of my dogs was bleeding and they had put powder on it so it was ok. BOTH of my dogs nails were bleeding to the point where I can see the trail when getting home. Worst experience ever honestly don't know how it was such a terrible job just clipping the nails. I have gone here for years, and was always happy. I took my dog in last week for a bath, glans expressed, and teeth brushed. 5 days later I'm at the vet's, and they asked if she needed her glans expressed, to which I said it was just done 5 days ago. He said the would check anyway, and she was so full. They got stuff out 3 different times! Either PP didn't do it, or they did a half ass job. Either way, I won't be back. Pet owners beware. First time trying this new place out for my dog and I'm highly disappointed. First red flag was when I walked in to pick up my dog after being groomed I saw one of the groomers drinking a beer. Not my place to call them out on that but again it looks completely unprofessional on their end. Second red flag was my dog being terrified of them once I got her. She was shaking and clung on to me for dear life. I brushed it off as her being nervous because it was her first time with those groomers. Once I arrived home and inspected her a little better I noticed one of her legs had a little bit of fresh blood. At that point I was furious. Had they let me know that she had gotten nipped when I picked her up I wouldn't have been as upset but the fact that I saw one of them drinking a beer at work and then finding this out it just let me know they are horrible groomers. How are they okay with one of their employees day drinking on the job? That alone speaks volumes of the people that work here. If you love your pets skip this place. Who knows what might happen if they allow their workers to drink while grooming animals. Our pets aren't able to vocalize what exactly goes on when left under someone else's care so please pay attention to red flags. After reading the reply to my review I still don't see how you say drinking at work is okay. That makes you look very unprofessional whether you were on the clock or not there's no way to know that. Your apology was not really an apology and more of you excusing that behavior that is never acceptable at a place of work. Take it as constructive criticism and learn how to be more professional. My dog was hurt under the care of whoever groomed her in YOUR business and that's a fact. Whether you will own up to it I don't care. I'm just hoping people will read this and make a decision based on my bad experience and will go somewhere else. I'm not asking for a refund I'll just research my next groomer better. I'm really sad to write this review since we've been going to Purrrfect Paws for a few years now and really loved their service but this past time we found a cut on our dog that was not there prior to him getting groomed. The cut was close to his armpit that we discovered because our dog loves having his belly rubbed. I'm not sure how the cut could have happened, maybe they were furminating a little too hard, I understand mistakes happen, but I honestly would not be as upset if we were made aware of the cut when we picked him up, rather than just pretending it didn't happen and having us find out ourselves. read more

Bad vibes all around. I trusted the staff here to clean my dog's teeth and he came back with blood smears underneath his chin. I told the staff there that my dog was shy and to be gentle with him. When they brought him out, I could see that he was obviously shaken up and scared. I got phone calls to come back to pick up my dog and it turns out they made a mistake. No apology from the reception staffs, they even gave me an attitude when I asked about PAYING THEM. I observed the way the staffs here handle dogs and I felt uneasy. The staff doesn't take their time when handling dogs that are uncomfortable and scared. This one little dog in the reception area was growling since he was scared and this female staff just scoop him up like nothing happened. That's just poor dog psychology and asking for a bite. Rex has had a lot of haircuts in his 8 years but none better than Purrfect Paws. When I arrived as a new customer I was asked how long do I want his hair, shape on his head, legs?, nails?. I've never been asked so many questions! They needed documentation of his shots, I'm rarely asked for that either. I felt I was leaving my baby in capable and caring hands. As sweet as my Rex is, When it comes to trimming his feet and legs, he is true to his terrier nature. The groomers took their time, and also teamed up to hold him as he tried to wrestle them into submission, to no avail. Hence, a perfectly trimmed dog! We used to use Groom to Bloom on Figueroa, but our dog seemed a little nervous there and her haircuts were just okay. So we settled on 5 Paws groomers in San Marino, because, well, they're awesome. BUT they raised their prices and we decided to give this Purrrfect Paws place a chance. THE CUT: Ninja is our white maltipoo, and some groomers assume that we want them to do the awkward pompadour poof on top of her head. The cut Ninja got at Purrfect Paws was simple and really cute. Athletic cut on the body, but they left her ears and face a little fluffy so she could keep her plush-toy cuteness. CUSTOMER SERVICE: We got a same-day appointment. They were good about following the instructions we gave them for Ninja's cut, and were really nice about us picking her up a little late. And they even sent Ninja home with a Purrrfect Paws leash :) PRICE: The best so far. $33 for the whole she-bang (shampoo, haircut, claws trimmed, anal glands expressed, etc.). LOCATION: We live within walking distance, so this is a good location for us. But it's also next to a grocery store and a few restaurants if you want to do some shopping or eating in the same trip. Oh, and the Purrfect Paws storefront also has toys, treats, bones, shampoos, and other pet products for sale. VERDICT: Try them out. I'm glad we did, and now we've got a close-by groomer. read more

I've been going to Julie's in Eagle Rock for several years because the price was reasonable even though the service was only ok. I'm so glad I was recommended to this shop. Price is reasonable and service is great!!! My Maltese had some matting. Julie's would have shaved her but the owner at Paw's spent the extra time to brush her through instead of going the easy route. I was very grateful and she looks beautiful. I would have given them 5 stars except they didn't cut the tear stains from her face. When I was dropping off my dog they told us, The whole process will take Max 3 hours Today. However, after the past 3 hours, no one gave me a call from the shop. So I made a phone call them to make sure I will go pick up my dog for now but they told me it still hasn't finished yet. They told me that we need 1 & 1/2 or 2 more extra hours..... I'm not sure what they did in 3 hours for my dog. Maybe they just forgot my dog existence or they skipped the right order then they might be squeezed in another dog before my dog. Anyway, it was for sure my dog was put into their tiny dirty cage more than 3 hours. I talked the owner of this shop to explain to me what's going on. She told me the reason that one of the groomers was got sick, so they couldn't finish on time. I understand the situation that people get sick sometimes but they have to explain to the customer that situation when I drop off my dog. OR At least she should make a call to the customer to let the customer know what time will be finished. SHOULD EXPLAIN WHAT'S GOING ON. The owner was very frustrated when I complain that all that things. and She just said to me "We will never call the customer. You should wait until we call you ready to pick up your dog. It may take 4 hour or 5 hours to finish that depends on the day that how's busy we are!" I was so surprised why they yelled to me like that. I still couldn't understand why they told me we finish 3 hours when I dropping off my dog. When I leave from the store, She told me "Just don't come back!" It was very very rude.... Hours are great plus staff are beyond friendly. The first time I walked in there they explained all cuts that were available and how it would look on my furry baby :). I came by for a nail trim since I live nearby (I go to a different groomer for a full groom). I wasn't a big fan of the service/attitude of the people running the place. They seemed unprofessional to me. When I asked how much a nail trim would be, the lady took a look at my dog and said, "Mmm 16 dollars." It felt arbitrary! I don't know if they charge everyone the same for just a nail trim. The guy working in the back, who seemed to be the one actually doing the work, was very kind though. He did a good job and also explained how much they took off (and that he couldn't take much off since my dog's quicks are long). It's unfortunate that I didn't like my experience here, which I think could be improved by being more professional.
