Came here for a managers work retreat and I have to be totally honest, I never knew they existed. As you drive through the entrance and embark on the approx 5 mile drive to get into where everything is located, you're greeted with a variety of different views, from wooded areas to golf course from streams to shooting range area... they keep their grounds in top notch condition and take a lot of pride in overall appearance. Staff great you at the Inn and are probably the best/nicest I've ever experienced at any hotel. Very accommodating at any time day or night. We kind of hand the run on the place being the off season, so both restaurants, Tom's Pub as well as the one downstairs (forgot the name) were set up just for us the first day. Great food, full of flavor and large portions. Wait staff was equally friendly and took pride in their work. Onsite amenities include a workout room (didn't go in), an outdoor pool (not sure if heated), free WiFi, in room fridge stocked with water, direct TV...and much, much more. So glad we had our retreat here, I would have never known this place existed. Would very highly recommend for a great getaway location.

Attended a birthday dinner this weekend. What a beautiful place. I was in awe of its beauty. Free valet. We dined at Old Toms Pub. The menu is nice but very limited in my opinion I had a hard time choosing what to eat. Went with the Marinated Balsamic Chicken w/ Roasted Potatoes and Brussel Sprouts. Kese ordered Pig Candy for an appetizer. I'm not a sweet and savory mixed kinda person so it was the most awful thing ever. Bacon cooked in brown sugar and serviced in a cup of brown sugar. It took us over an hour to get our food. I had to eventually ask other servers to give me something to drink and they were refilling our cups with no ice. Everyone had several errors with their food so some of us didn't eat with everyone else. My First chicken was over cooked and dry. I was starving so I just tried to deal but for $21 I sent it back. The second one came out pretty quick and was cooked better but I just didn't enjoy it. The skin in the chicken was rubbery and I expected it to be crispy since it was roasted. The Brussel sprouts and potatoes were perfect. Checkout time. Another extremely frustrating moment. The server asked us how was the check split and it's mainly couples. He comes back with everyone on separate tickets saying the machine wouldn't let him ring couples which we know is a complete lie. That was 30 minutes gone. We just figured it was so the service charge would be more. Well everyone else's service charge was $4-$5 mine was $51.20. Talk about a charge. My meal wasn't even more than that. A few others were grossly incorrect as well. He blamed the computer again and went to fix them. By the time we got a correction and paid everyone one was gone that we came to dinner with. Literally an hour to pay and we ended up flagging and girl down and asking her to take the payment for us bcus we just felt awkward sitting waiting on him to return with an hour long drive ahead of us.

Gorgeous scenery as we rode our electric bikes.

I cannot say enough good things about our time at Pursell Farms. They take Southern Hospitality seriously and went above and beyond to make our time special. We had an absolute blast on the electric bikes and had a wonderful experience at the spa (thank you Crystal and Melissa). The front desk and hospitality/transportation staff were absolutely incredible (special thank you to Miss Misti, Mr. Steve, and Mr. Jimmy!!). The food was delicious and the staff in the restaurants were extremely kind and helpful. By the end of our stay we felt like we'd become friends with some of the staff and hate to say goodbye. We sure hope to come back someday! If you're looking for a gorgeous place to stay with top-notch service and Southern Hospitality, look no further!

Jesse came to our room after our evening meal with a surprise.... exceeded expectations by far. Wow. Bravo Pursell Farms!

I'm not sure why the poor reviews... must have expectations that can't be met frankly. Came here this weekend for my birthday. Took the UTV ride (highly recommended) and ate at Old Tom's Pub twice. Food was excellent and service was on point. Want a fantastic waiter? Ask for Jesse (he's the real deal). Couldn't have asked for a better visit. Fabulous grounds and golf course. The beds in the Inn are wonderfully comfortable. Come see this place.... you'll be glad you did.

WORST HOTEL EVER! NASTY blankets and sheets! It literally looked like they just made the bed back…read moreup after MULTIPLE people used them. cigarette burns, stains, and even crusty spots on them. one of my pillows looked like it had black scuff marks on it from someone's shoe. Someone left a cigarette butt on the headboard after they put multiple cigarettes out on it already. The room smelled so bad like they should really be ashamed and embarrassed! The shower had very very low water pressure partly due part of the shower head was clogged with paint. There was moldy ice cream left in the refrigerator. It looked like no one has swept the floor In weeks/months. When I went to make my complain't at the front desk window, she told me there wasn't anything she could do but asked to take pictures of the pictures I took to shower her house keeper, but then tried to make it out like I was lying because of the time it said I took my picture on my phone?? Totally rude and made me uncomfortable knowing that she was trying to turn it around on me to make me out to be a liar! I MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT recommend The Jackson's Trace motel in Sylacauga Al! Not to mention the locks on multiple rooms didn't even lock according to another lady, who had a toddler, who paid for a room as well! She literally went to her bathroom for a split second and her toddler ran out to the parking lot because their door didnt have a lock on it! It's most DEFINITELY over priced to stay there no doubt! so here I am out of $75 because the folks running the motel obviously doesn't know how to run the motel. Im not posting this out of spite or hate because of how I was treated. Im posting this because this is a true event i had to experience and deal with and I hope nobody else has to experience that awful nasty stay. They also tell you that you cannot have any company there either, which yes, i can understand to an extent on some levels, but they literally watch your room from their cameras to see if anyone has any company coming by or not. if they were worried about THEIR JOB and CLEANING duties rather than who you have coming to your room then they might not have as many bad reviews or complaints. Only good thing I can say is their pet fee is only $5, but the $5 pet fee has got to be in cash...? Anyway, I didn't want to post such a negative review but I felt like I had to speak on it. I'm not one to complain. I've travelled for work for years and understand things happen…read more That said, something needs to be done about the Hampton Inn in Alexander City, AL. My son is in the Army and when he gets to come home and visit, we put he and his wife at the Hampton Inn. We've had several issue with reservations and the lack of apparent training of the front desk staff; but I feel I need to bring up our experience this week: 1. Sunday, 1 June - I check my son and wife in, asking for a room from Sunday to check out Wednesday. It took the front desk person about 15 minutes to figure out how to do that and she eventually got help from what appears to be the housekeeping manager. 2. Monday 2 June - (I paid for the room), I get a call from the front desk asking why there is luggage still in the room. I replied that we got the room through Wednesday. Front desk person had no idea what to do and had to call me back about an hour later. 3. Meanwhile, they get locked out of their room and once again the front desk person can't get them another key. 4. I get the call back from the front desk person who tells me that they can stay tonight (Monday), but will have to check out and back into another room on Tuesday as the room they are in is reserved for Tuesday night. 5. Tuesday 3 June - I go to the front desk to recheck in for Tuesday night. A different front desk person can't handle this and has to call someone to help. After 10 minutes, she says we don't have a room for Tuesday night and there are no rooms available. So now I have no place in town to put my son and his wife. 6. This is either complete lack of training or incompetence by the front desk staff or each front desk person was not being truthful just to get me out of the way. Regardless this is really unacceptable and has really put us in a bind. I'm going to have to send my son 30 minutes away to get another hotel for tonight and I can assure you it won't be a Hilton brand. I worked as a front desk and a night auditor for hotels while I was in college and these tasks are not rocket science. Bottom line, this is extremely disappointing and inconvenient.

The woman who checked us in was wonderful! The one who checked us out... Not so wonderful. My partner was walking our dog and she (Barb,if that is her real name that she gave him) walked up on him. She made contact with him and started asking him questions about our dog, where we stayed, etc. She left and came back. She proceeded to say there was a pet fee of $15 in cash. The woman who checked us in made no mention of a pet fee or it being in cash and hotels. Com made no mention of a pet fee. My partner and her got into it about the need of it being in cash and him not having cash. Barb was very rude and unwelcoming. She treated us as if we were criminals or low down scum. It was disheartening. Also, upon fighting over getting a receipt over this supposed fee, she gave us a receipt that had the wrong credit card on it. It states the last four of a card we do not have as well as the type (Mastercard). The receipt we got for the fee was not very official either. This shows how unorganized and unprofessional this place really is. I guess that Tatiana was correct about her rating in 2015. Nothing since has changed apparently. We went down for breakfast and there were two employees just chatting at the front desk. I went to the restroom and heard someone talking loud on their phone. Didn't think anything of it until I went out to get coffee. There was only decaf. I went to find the hostess of the kitchen and couldn't find anyone. Then I saw her coming out of the restroom walking slow like she had nothing to do. She was the one I heard on the phone! I ask about getting coffee. She said, "It's brewing."
