I'm extremely disappointed with the treatment I received at this salon. I called ahead and confirmed a 1:30 PM appointment. I arrived on time, sat down, and was completely ignored -- no greeting, no acknowledgment. Two walk-in customers who came after me also sat down, were greeted, and when we were all eventually seated, they were attended to immediately while I was left waiting. After 25 minutes of being disregarded, I got up to leave, only then did someone ask me to "please wait." By then, it was obvious that I was not a priority. The difference in how I was treated (I'm a black woman) compared to the other (white) customers was glaring and unacceptable. I have supported this business before, but after experiencing this blatant disrespect and bias, I will never return. No customer deserves to be treated this way. read more

I come here for eyebrow threading and am always pleased. I don't have anyone specific to recommend since all of the staff have been great. The only downside is parking. There are 2 free parking spots behind the salon but it's often not available so customers are forced to park in the paid parking lot thats located behind the salon as well. read more

While getting your back waxed is never an enjoyable experience, it was fast, efficient, and for the most part quite bearable (yeah that was a pun). The gentle touch and nice character of the aesthetician made it a great experience. I will be returning when my pelt grows back in. read more

I use to come here all the time (at least every 3 weeks), it was $7 for a solid eyebrow threading, close to home, and they were quick and painless. I went there for almost 2 years, even my mother started going there. I decided to try this place out in the search for good threading in Etobicoke. I had read the reviews going in, so I'm appreciative that I had a frame of reference. I was quoted at $7 over the phone when I made the appointment, but was told it was $7.99 when I went to pay tonight (I paid cash). I made an appointment a few days in advance over the phone. The spa itself is clean and features several chairs. I was brought to one of the staff and told to lay back. She didn't really ask me any other questions (i.e. shape, what I wanted to clean up). For reference, I had let my fairly fair eyebrows grow out for a couple of weeks which is a big deal for me as I can't stand stray hairs! So I had plenty of shaping to be done, as well as clean up over top and underneath. The shaping was done nicely and it was thorough. The tops, bottoms, and middle was cleaned up decently. Afterwards, she offered to apply an aloe gel and performed a massage, which was a nice touch. I came home and noticed that a few hairs were left in the middle of my brows, as well as a decent hair underneath each eyebrow. While I'm fair, it was noticable without me getting too close to the mirror. So four hairs total... The place is lit up really well so I guess it's kind of my fault for not noticing when the mirror was handed to me. Otherwise, the experience was decent. I suppose I'd come back. The lady at the front, who may be the owner, was friendly and polite. A bit of an annoying feature is that you'll pretty much have to pay for parking, as all streets behind Bloor St W have no parking/stopping signs. Granted, there is plenty of street parking as well as parking on side streets. I was in & out in 15 minutes, so I suppose you could risk it. I really hate to demote my review for this place because I've been coming here for about 4 years now, usually once a month or so to get my eyebrows/lip threaded. I've been coming here exclusively, and in fact this is the only place I've ever had my eyebrows threaded. I live within walking distance of this place, but I think I may be looking for a new place to get my eyebrows done which is kind of annoying. But there's just been certain things building up over time that make me feel as if I could do better, and I'm kind of tired of certain annoyances. The price is cheap for threading, and they've actually renovated the inside within the past year so it looks great inside now. I've really never cared about how it looks in here though, I've just cared about the cheap and quick threading and the fact that this place is literally walking distance from me. I actually credit this place with helping me to develop better brows in the first place. When I first started coming her several years ago, I had never gotten my brows done and had over plucked them into something really ugly. Over time, with my pretty much never touching them again, and getting threaded about once a month they slowly grew back into a much better, natural shape. Most of the threadings I've had here have been great, and I've never gone to just one girl. I go in each time and just get whoever has been available, and I'd say 90% of the time I've been super happy. The last couple times though, I felt like they've gone a bit thinner than I like, and some girls are a bit gentler than others and give a really nice short massage at the end of your threading with the soothing gel. But the reason I think I'm going to stop coming here doesn't have as much to do with the threading, but because they've become really pushy trying to sell facials in the past year or so. About a year ago, Pushpa, the owner of the salon, talked me into getting a Hydrafacial. I had been curious about this facial for awhile, I've had friends who had gotten it done at other places. I do have some occasional breakouts on my face, and the techs would make comments occasionally and Pushpa noticed which is why she suggested me the Hydrafacial. I had it done, and wasn't thrilled with the results. She also pushed a few products on me which I didn't love. Overall, I felt it was a waste of money *for me* - I'm not saying the Hydrafacial doesn't work for some people, but I know what works for my skin generally, and yes, I do have breakouts sometimes but I'm just getting annoyed with every time I go to get my brows done the tech or Pushpa pointing it out, and trying to pressure me into getting facials. Honestly, I just want to go in and get my brows done, not feel annoyed with having to decline more services every time and have one or two pimples on my forehead pointed out. The last time I went in, they tried to convince me to book a facial again and actually asked me if I wanted to pay ahead of time...this just really annoyed me and even though this place is within walking distance of me, I just think I might need to try elsewhere. Maybe I'll even love the threading results more at another place, seeing as this is the only place I've been. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily discourage someone from coming here for threading. They generally do a good job and it's quick and cheap. I'm just personally getting annoyed with the upselling on facials and comments from the owner and a couple techs...so I think I'm going to have to look for a new place. read more

I'm really disappointed in this place considering its proximity to the subway. It would have been great to have a regular eyebrow place to drop in on on my way home from work, so as to give the illusion of perfectly groomed eyebrows year round and not just when I manage the time to actually get them done. When I initially walked in, I scanned the place and it was grubby. Points off right there. I wasn't greeted warmly either. I don't expect a warm embrace or a happy dance but a mere grunt will not do. I was asked if I made an appointment. I said, "No, I'm just dropping in because I was in the area. Do you have time for an eyebrow threading?" I can't be sure but I detected an eye roll or at least the beginnings of one that was tapered back. I was then directed to a chair. I also noted that there was old thread everywhere on the floor surrounding the chairs, which had bunched up dust and stray hair mixed in. At the place I currently regular, their floor is immaculate. Just saying. Anyway, when I removed my glasses and brushed my bangs out of the way, the woman who was about to shape them (pretty sure it was the owner) laughed in my face and said, "Nice bangs. They hide your bushy eyebrows! Ha!" My response? I thanked her. I thanked her for the insult and the gift of a bad joke. But then I thought, "Really? You're criticizing the state of my eyebrows before you even shape them? Why do you think I'm here? Is this going to be like when you clean your house before the cleaning lady comes over so she doesn't believe you live in filth (I don't have a cleaning lady but that was the best example I could come up with)?" So I waited for the end result wondering if enduring a couple of bad jokes may not be a bad trade-off for neatly groomed eyebrows. I looked in the mirror post-threading and wasn't that crazy with the results. Upon further inspection in the car mirror before going home, I noticed missed stray hairs and a general lack of shape. Subpar at best. The more I analyzed at home, the more fault I saw. First you insult my eyebrows and then you don't do a good job fixing them? What is your purpose? Overall, I did not appreciate her uncreative, dumb joke and I found a cheaper eyebrow salon whose work is something to be marveled at. Great place for regular waxing services, threading and laser hair removal. Nothing fancy, so not a place for a "spa retreat". Staff is super friendly, although can be a bit disorganized. However, they do know how to deal with unruly eyebrows and unwanted hair. read more

I've been coming here for threading my eyebrows for I think about a year. The price is decent at $8 (all in), downtown I get $12 but I know people who get it as low as $5 cash at other parts of Toronto. Other than that, the ladies are super nice, do a great job and it's close to me so I'm happy overall. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. Sure, it's tiny. But it's clean and the service is great. The estheticians are very attentive, and always do a great job. I go for threading and waxing, though they offer a lot of other services as well. My sister and I swear by this place, and refer to going to get our eyebrows done as "getting Pushpa'd." I went to this place because it was close by to my house. I am big on hygiene and this place lacked in cleanliness. The lady that did my eyebrows was leaning over me and threading my eye brows and unfortunately she had very bad breath. She was also a mouth breather on the account that she had a cold. She kept snorting over me. If you're sick then please stay home! Customers do not want to smell your bad breath nor catch your germs or cold. Unfortunately as a result of her lack of hygiene I got sick. I also did not see her wash her hands. I paid 7 bucks to thread my eyebrows and it was nothing to write home about. I'll go back to using my original threader in Mississauga. read more

I went yesterday. I'm not sure who I saw as I was a walk-in. It hurt A LOT. I've had my eyebrows waxed and threaded many times and let me tell you, this was the worst. Now, the next day, I have two lacerations. One under my eyebrow and another on my upper lip. I'm furious, and they hurt! I've been here before three or four times and haven't had that experience. Popped by for the first time after work without an appointment. I have been hunting for a place for walk-in eyebrow threading on my commute home with reasonable pricing. The place is not lavish by any means. It is extremely basic, but I don't expect much if I am paying $6 for threading. My eyebrows are pretty easy to work with and I was happy with the results. She was quick, efficient, and friendly. She handed me the mirror multiple times to ensure that I was happy with the shape. I can see that other reviewers are unhappy with the grubby feel of the place, but I think the entire atmosphere is in line with the pricing. Other salons in my area are charging $15 - $20 on average. They might be nicer, but I'm only popping in for a few minutes anyways. Previously, I had found places for $3 in Mississauga and they were basically run out of basements. I went for eyebrow threading. The woman, who's name I was never told, directed me to sit in the chair. Then she proceeded to have conversations with the other employees in another language before she started. Then soon after starting she had to answer a knock at the back door and then answer the phone twice after that. I wasn't expecting stellar service but to be kept waiting, have her talk to other people the entire time and stop three times was a little much. I've had way better experiences and received better results from Golden Scissors at Finch and Pharmacy and at the Eyebrow Threading Lady in Ajax. read more

Been going here for a while for eyebrows, typically do a good job. Lately, however, the staff do not wash their hands before touching your face. This is very unsettling considering they either just touched money or touched someone else's face. This is just standard to anyone in the spa industry. The store is not the best looking place in the world, but the service is great and the price is even better.
