Worst waxing experience. I got Brazilian sugaring and was supposed to get underarm sugaring/waxing for free as first time offer. The waxilogost tried to speak me to do normal waxing instead but I insisted for sugaring because wax irritates skin more. By the end I got sugaring with really bad result, I could see spare hair everywhere. Also the waxologist was in such a hurry she almost threw me out of the room and I told I'm also supposed to get the free sugaring. She just told me to lie down and placed the wax (? I requested sugaring) and did her thing. Even that "free wax" left a lot of spare hair so I had to shave once I got home. My skin was irritated and felt like burning for days after the treatment. This doesn't happen if the waxologist is professional. So far my worst waxing experience which is unfortunate since the reviews that I saw before were good. read more

She was very caring and gracious in offering me a "re-do" free of charge. I went for a waxing on Saturday and was very pleased with the service. At first, I was very happy to find Aroma. They used the good wax that is more effective, and less painful for Brazilians then your average place, and they had excellent prices. The places was clean, and the staff was friendly. Seemed like a great fit! Unfortunately, I never had a wonderful service there, and the last time I went was the final straw. The first time seemed fine. I had a Brazilian and a lower leg wax. The waxer worked VERY quickly. When I got home I noticed that there were several small patches on the brazilian area that had been missed, and I just plucked those areas myself (annoying and awkward, but whatever) and went on with my day. The leg wax was a total write off, as all the hairs had been broken off, so I just had to shave them. I made a point to remind myself to double-check the brazilian work before leaving the salon the next time, and not bother with the leg wax. The next time, the waxer again (same one) was extremely fast, but I checked the areas that had been missed the first time, and was satisfied - but got home to find several more patches that were in harder areas for me to get to, so unfortunately I had to shave them resulting in the itchy, pokey irritation which is the whole reason I went for waxing anyway. I admit that that should have been the last visit, but the prices were too good, and like a fool I trotted back in, knowing I'd likely have some touch-ups to do at home. This time, the waxer seemed extremely frazzled and told me that management was double-booking her because she can work so quickly - so instead of giving her one person every 15 minutes, they were scheduling her one person every 8. As she's letting me know this, she's going to work in record time. I noticed the first pull hurt more than usual, but on the second pull I knew something was wrong and looked down...to see that she had taken off MUCH more than I had wanted, or ever had her done before. It was more than I've ever had taken off in my LIFE. I'm not a prude - it looks great on other people. But I am extremely uncomfortable when there is too much off, and she left me with nothing. I was horrified. She realized what she'd done and started apologizing. In a way, I felt sorry for her, because she was clearly exhausted from management grossly over-scheduling her. But I was left VERY uncomfortable with my body. She was saying "I'm so sorry - but you know, most men really like it like this." Believe it or not, I don't get this done for men, I get it done to help me feel as good as possible about my own body. And I was left feeling humiliated and VERY unhappy with my appearance. And yes, I know it's hair and it grows back, but without going into details - this made things very difficult for me as it has triggered some severe body issues that I battle, and will continue to do so since my hair grows back extremely slowly. Also, I am in the middle of having laser hair removal in the area, and now the guidelines that they have been using over the past few months are gone - so I cannot continue those treatments now for several months. This is beyond frustrating. Bottom line - you get what you pay for. Don't go to Aroma and expect the same level of service you get from other brazilian-specialist chains in town that are priced slightly higher. Aroma management will take advantage of their staff, and push them to the point where they make mistakes, and ruin your groom. AVOID! read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend. She said that se really liked it. I can only assume that she's like pain. The only good thing for this place was that it was clean. Very hygienic. Like they said no double dipping in the wax which made me feel better about the place when I went in. Oh and they were prompt about starting right away. That's where it ended. The actual service was horrible. It's been almost a full day and it's still really sore. During the waxing I noticed some blood from one of the strips. I have a blood red bruise on my inner thigh bikini area. I've also noticed now that the area isn't as red that she's missed patches of hair. Also that some of the hair looks as of it wasn't even pulled completely from the roots. That it broke off at the surface. I've had waxes before, not here, and I've never had an issue. This was my first time at Aroma and I received a high bikini and full leg wax. The spa was very clean and smelt amazing! The receptionist was very kind and also they are flexible with appointments as I called them the morning of my appointment to make it earlier. My waxer, Gina, was very kind and understanding that this was my first time and explained everything as she was doing it as well as created conversation. To do both high bikini and full leg it takes about 45 mins. The pain was not too bad. It hurt but only for a few seconds and it wasn't excruciating. The room was very clean and music was playing while getting waxed which I feel distracted from the pain slightly. I was originally supposed to receive a Brazilian but she said my hair was too short and it would only be good to get a high bikini. So I would let it grow for about 2 -3 weeks (I let it grow for about 1week) After the wax I still felt and saw some stray hairs. In areas, my skin is not smooth and it feels like stubble. So I was not fully satisfied as I wanted silky smooth legs girl! There were less stray hairs in my bikini area than my legs. I also still have some redness about 9hrs after the wax. This was my first time getting waxed so I will probably try another waxing facility to see if I get better results! read more

I have been going to Aroma once a month for almost two years and only had great things to say, even recommended my best friends and mother. Juliana is one of the best,makes your appointment enjoyable, almost pain free and is over almost as soon as it begins. So why the low score, well I had an appointment one evening and due to circumstances beyond my control (was told by my boss that I had to work late, not really an option) and I had to cancel a couple of hours before my appointment. The receptionist who answered, I'm guessing the owner, who is always really nice when you get there but the minute you try to cancle all the niceness goes out the window, seriously the way I was talked to made me feel like I was a 5 year old getting scolded, as if it was unacceptable that I wasn't leaving my job to go get waxed, at least I had the decency to call and not just not show up like some people do. There was no understanding and I felt horrible when I got off the phone. I had rescheduled for another day but don't feel comfortable going back so have now cancelled that appointment and will not be returning. I wish Juliana only the best and I will miss our sessions and I hope the receptionist/owner learns better customer service especially to the loyal repeat clientele and comes to understand sometimes things are out of our control and to be more understanding. I have been coming to Aroma for over 6 years now, I've been to both Bloor st & Yonge location. My recent experience at the Yonge location was just OK.. I booked my appointment online a few weeks in advance - I never got a reminder phone call of my appointment so I literally had to check my online booking the day before to refresh my memory of time. Once I got there which was a few min before my appointment, I had to wait almost 15-20 min to be seen which made me late on my next appointment that I had elsewhere. The girl who I saw was nice, she was quiet for the most part if it wasn't for me talking and talking to get my mind off of the process I did ask for a high bikini which turned into what literally looked like just a bikini.. hair was left everywhere! I had to shave the next day because it was not looking nice at all. It wasn't even evenly waxed what so ever I also paid for full legs which should of included toes, and that was not waxed either. When I was about to pay, the lady at the reception was talking to a client on the phone for at least 10 minutes while I'm just standing there in front of her. I always thought the person in front of you should come first before a phone call. It would of taken her 1 min to check me out & she could of continued her call. Just a disappointment when you leave spending a decent amount of money & you don't get what you paid for. I've been coming to this location for almost a year now. To describe their incredible service isn't a challenge at all. Booking the appointment is a breeze. If you're like me, who has had enough trying to decipher your appointment time over the phone with some abrupt non-English speaking individual, you'll be glad to know that Aroma has an online service that you can book. The convenience goes beyond the typical hassle of over the phone etiquette. It also allows me to book in the middle of the night when I realize that normal people aren't awake at midnight waiting for my business. The location and set-up is beautifully and tastefully done. It's bright and everything is clean and sterile. The staff, from the front desk to the aesthetician, are wonderful and polite. The actual service. There's no double dipping! I repeat, NO DOUBLE DIPPING! If you don't know what this means, picture your legs wide open for a Brazilian. Now picture another female on the same table doing the same thing. Now picture the same popsicle stick going into her areas and then going to your areas. That is double dipping in the grosses form. I've been waxing for ten years and I've seen it all. I've once told an aesthetician that I wanted to use fresh wax after realizing she was going to take the same stick she just placed on my legs and use it for another area. I'm pretty sure they called me JLO wannabe after that, but let's face there are many people out there with poor hygiene rules. It's a waxing experience. Sometimes it hurts and sometimes I could fall asleep. I read somewhere that depending on the month your skin can be tighter than other days, and in my experience I agree. As for the comments I've read about how their hairs are not being fully pulled out, I can honestly say that it's happened to me as well. Why? Because skin cells aren't the same; I try to use a bath scrub periodically between waxing sessions and it does help. However, bodies are weird and sometimes you'll have the odd cell that needs to be rubbed and picked to get the ingrown that has decided that it wants to grow under the strongest skin cell on your body. It's not their fault if there are random hairs that don't come off in one shot. Blame it on your biology. Overall, the price is phenomenal; the ease in booking, the cleanliness, the service provided tops many high end spas in the city. read more

Good morning, I've been to Aroma Waxing Clinic quite a few times. I started off with a lovely lady, who walked me through my first time getting a Brazilian. As most females, I was shy, nervous but also excited. I was looking forward to finding out what the hype was behind this. Surprisingly, I found myself coming back to get it done each month. I always requested Jacqueline as she was lovely. She made me feel comfortable, and relaxed. I wanted to come back because of the environment she created. However, to my dismay, during my last appointment I left in tears. To start, when I arrived at the clinic, all the parking outside was full, making it very difficult for me to find a parking spot. As a result of this, I was 4 minutes late to my appointment. I walked in kindly stating that I was here for my appointment. The receptionist made it clear that I was late and would no longer be able to get serviced by Jacqueline. Okay, it's fine I was late, but I didn't even receive any type of curtsy call to find out where I was - when in fact the only reason I was 4 minutes late was due to the parking situation. However, they were able to put me with someone else - Veronica or Glady's or something I believe. I walk in, and I get ready when she starts making comments about my hair. After she proceeds to ask me how I am and when I ask her how she is, she says "Waiting for you to show up so I can leave". How is that my problem? She tried to rush the job before I had to ask her to stop so I can leave. I felt so uncomfortable, comments about my body hair were unnecessary and rude, and she made it very clear that she was going to rush the entire process. In addition to that, she told me it would hurt more than my first time. I am disgusted and appalled by this service. As someone who does waxing for a living, rude comments regarding body hair is not needed. I would advise everyone not to go to this place, there service is poor. I'm now looking into laser. I booked a Brazilian wax at Aroma. To be fair, I was 5 minutes late for the appointment (but no more than that). The esthetician rushed through my service - I have never had such a painful Brazilian before. One day later, I'm still a bit uncomfortable. Additionally, she left me covered in wax. When I mentioned that on my way out, she did take me back into a room where I was able to remove the residual wax with almond oil. Pricing was reasonable, but not worth the pain. read more

It pains me to write a bad review for this place but potential customers and the staff here needs to hear this. I'm a fan of the Bathurst and Bloor location, and decided to try this location out too. I've read great reviews for Gladys and walked into my appointment with high expectations. My first appointment with her went fabulously. I've never had cleaner brows. There wasn't a hair out of place. I was thrilled with how they turned out. The only downfall to that appointment was how rough she was with me. There was so much force used and I've never had a wax done that hurt as much as that time. But it was a sacrifice for how great my brows turned out. My appointment was 15 minutes long but I was in and out of there in 8. The second time was when it got bad. The same amount (if not more) of force was used and I noticed a few dots of blood above my right brow at the end. On top of that, she completely messed up my brows. The shape and arch on one brow is gone. One eyebrow is thinner than the other. There were still stray hairs on my eyelids that were missed. I came out of there looking 10x worse than I did going in. I can't even imagine how long it's going to be until they'll even out and return to the way they were before. I know she's known for how quickly she can work but in and out in 5 minutes this time? Maybe things would have turned out differently if she put the same amount of care and used the full 15 minutes that I booked. Words cannot begin to describe the disappointment and hurt I have over this. Conveniently located nearby Eglinton subway station, an easy online booking system, amazing prices (including weekday discounts), great service, nice clean facilities. My 1 star rating obviously has nothing to do with the operations of this place, which has many great things going for it, but about the brazilian wax itself. I have been here for a brazilian wax twice, probably about a year apart. The first time, the results were..well, not great. It was enough that this did not become a "go-to" place, despite the great price. The first visit: Let's be honest: this is an uncomfortable painful process. But oh dear god, the pain here is pretty bad. It's a weird technique of waxing large patches, and pulling completely upwards. In addition, there was some uncomfortable rewaxing certain areas happening....well...you really shouldn't put your little lady through that. The result: Patchy job, with areas that were left in pain for days (potential burn from re-waxing? who knows). The process probably took 15min, and there is a lot of pride taken in the speed that this is completed.... The second time I came here: It was completely out of convenience, need, and desperation. The pain was just as awful as the first visit. The improvement: there was no re-waxing of already waxed areas this time around. The result: broken hairs, and missed patches. It was like this was done in the dark with an at-home waxing kit. Anyways - the broken hairs ended being a huge problem when it comes to maintenance. The convenience is there, but the quality is way off for me. I've never wrote the review, but I should write this. today was my first Brazilian, I was very excited and expected it would be painful. And I got the reservation by Gladys because I've read great reviews for her. However, you guys never imagine how rough she was with me. And how painful was it. . . . . . 1) When I entered into the room, she asked me whether it is my first time or not and I answered yes. Then she just said just make my self clean with tissue. After that, she went back and was gonna start waxing. But she said your hair is too long, and cut them off, then said "Make sure NEXT TIME YOU DO IT." she said this sentence 3 times. Why customer have to hear this kind of complaint from waxer? She could have asked me cut them off my self, and I would do it. But she looked like very uncomfortable as if I'm very rude, strange customer. I had no idea why she didn't ask me for self-cutting my hair even though she already knew that is my first time. . . . . . . 2) At the beginning of waxing, I was thinking on mind "It supposed to be painful" and then be patient. but after several patches, it was extreme painful. Since she started, she kept taking patches off without no break, and never took care of me. I asked her, "Can you stop it for a minute?". she said "okay" and then RESUMED IN JUST 10 SECOND. She said first Brazilian is very painful. But she just seemed to wanna finish this annoying job. It was taking just 5 minute, even the full reservation time was 15 minutes. After super fast waxing, she was having a chat with other people at the front. I have no idea why she'd done waxing that much fast. . . . . . . 3) When waxing was almost done,she said this is last one, but she attached several patches more. That was awful. And you know what guys? I went with boyfriend and that was his first Brazilian as me. He's been done by different waxer. I went to Aroma and had different waxing services with a few estheticians and overally am not impressed with the service. I went because they use good wax, but have had poor experiences with different estheticians. I was there for a bikini and fully leg with someone named Gladys for the first time. Within seconds she started taking off my underwear and I spazzed. I told her that made me uncomfortable and she thought it was funny. The next time I asked for a different esthetician and explained before they touched me not to do that. I went to someone named Samantha who was quite rough and swore copiously while we were trying to have normal conversation. There was a great esthetician Juliana but she stopped working there. Overall I find the estheticians aren't communicative or professional. They don't even introduce themselves when they first see you, and say "Hi, I'm so and so." And they don't spend time tweezing at all after the service, which I find lacking compared to other places. I've been having my legs waxed for decades with different people, and quality of staff here is quite poor. I don't recommend Aroma at all. read more

This place is amazing! It is just a short walk from davisville/eglinton station so very easy to get to. The place itself is quite clean and fresh and the reception staff is quite nice. The wax rooms are very clean, and I love the little stickers they have up on the ceiling -- i just think it is a clever little touch. I've been going there religiously every 3 weeks for a brazilian and full leg wax. Juliana is AH-MAZING!! She is bubbly, friendly and make you feel very comfortable. More importantly, she knows what she's doing. She works with you to try and make sure this experience is as painless as possible. Also, she fixed my eyebrows -- and girls, we all know once you've messed them up how hard it is to fix these bad boys! My eyebrows are now once again naturally on fleek! I've also had a wax with Gena and Gladys in the past. They're good, but Juliana remains my girl!! Actually tbh, I did not like my experience with Gladys. She did not understand my super sensitive skin and told me I had eczema down there -- had to run to my DR afterwards and she confirmed that was not true and it is just that the nature of my skin is extremely sensitive. I just don't think it is ok for her to make such claims and freak clients out. I did go back however, and that's when I met Juliana and my life changed. I am taking off a star because of the AC - Everytime I go, there seems to be something wrong with the air and it gets quite hot. Nothing unbearable though, but they ought to check that out. I know Juliana is going to be on maternity leave by the end of the year (still a couple of months girls, don't worry!), and so I am thinking of checking out their other location (Bloor and Bathurst I believe) just because I live on Bloor West, and if Juliana is no longer there, I might as well look for a new place. Overall, love Aroma, love the Brazilian Sugaring wax with Enza. Only horrible experience I had was with Gladys. She waxed me way too quickly, breaking the hairs instead of waxing them, and missing spots. I only went to her because there was no other person on a Monday for sugaring so I did regular Brazilian. I had found my waxing place about a year and a half ago and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else! The place is very ascetically pleasing and clean, I've only had to wait once in the several times I've went there and it was only for 15 minutes. Walking in, you're immediately greeted and taken in. The rooms are small but very comfortable. You're never pressured into deals or booking any more appointments. The women have always put me at ease, especially for my first brazillian wax. It was quick and even though my pain tolerance is low, I'm able to keep my mind off it with the engaging conversations. I've always been pleased with my waxer and the job done. Please note: I have seen some women complain about missed spots. Once they're done, ask them to stay so you can go over and check your body to see any missed spots or ask the waxer to do so. I did that the last time I was there and it was no problem. The price is reasonable if you're doing a bunch of areas at once. 2 weeks ago, I went to have my legs waxed at Aroma. I had gotten a great Brazilian done by Margo a month earlier, and this time I chose a woman named Liz for a full leg wax. The experience itself was quick, and relatively painless, aside from some issues. This waxing experience has left me with large burn patches on my legs in several areas, including the inside of my knees, my inner thigh, and my upper buttocks. Firstly, the waxer was too caught up in talking to me, and I could see she was no longer as focused while applying the hot wax as the session went on. As I was sitting under fluorescent lights, I watched her mindlessly remove hair from sensitive areas (my knees, back of my knees, my inner thighs), and probably the most shocking, apply wax on these areas AGAIN. I did make a comment about being careful where my skin is softer, but isn't this common sense to a professional waxer? Why is a waxer applying more wax to areas that have thinner, barely-there hair? Before the session was over, these areas were shiny and stinging, and when she left to get a "special cream" for these areas, I knew that she had overdone it, instead writing them off as minor patches of sensitive skin. I should add that I can now see that most of my leg hair was not even removed from the roots, and my legs felt prickly the next week as if I had shaved them. I essentially got an uncomfortable shave for my lower legs. To add insult to injury, I also had my upper lip waxed, and when I went downstairs (after being kicked out of my room because we had gone overtime for no reasons of my own), I asked the woman sitting at the front desk if I could have some cream to put on my upper lip. She was so incredibly rude and condescending, I had to chalk it up to her nature, rather than a personal slight. I'm sorry, is this how your receptionists are trained to deal with customers? I only wish I had asked her name, so I could have called the manager the next day. She has dark hair with bangs, and is maybe of Spanish or Asian descent. Honestly, I was not even going to write a review. Liz was a very nice waxer, and I almost felt like me engaging in conversation with her made it my fault. However, me engaging with my waxer shouldn't mean I walk away with my legs scarred. People around me have been asking about the patches on my legs, and are shocked to find out that this was the work of a waxer. 2 weeks later, after putting Polysporin and Vitamin E on my legs everyday, the marks are still very obvious, but no longer painful. I have not yet decided if I will return to Aroma. Perhaps only to see Margo for my Brazillians. I can definitely say that the extra 15% off waxing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays is not enough to deal with some of the girls sitting at the reception desk. read more

I moved to the area in September. I went to a sugaring place before but never got the same results as a wax. Tried this place and love it. Been there 4 times now and have not had a bad experience. You walk in and the girl at the desk is very nice. The place is always clean, which is important. I go to Gladys, she is amazing. She is so nice, does a quick, efficient job and never makes you feel awkward. The price is great, especially for someone like me on a budget. There are sometimes a few stray, stubborn hairs left over, but thats normal from any of the places I've been to. I never expect them to go over my private areas with a magnifying glass to make sure they get every hair. The online booking is very easy and you can usually book any time you want a week in advance. This is my first time writing a review but I think people should know before going here. I've been to the Yonge and Eglinton location twice. First time, I wanted to do a brazilian sugaring but when I got there I saw the ad for free sugaring for first timers. The receptionist asked me if it was my first time and when I replied yes, she never mentioned the promotion until I read it in the brochure and asked about it. I ended up getting the bikini sugaring. The lady was nice and quick and didn't hurt as much as waxing. So I decided to come back for a brazilian waxing just before my vacation. I've had brazilian waxing for years from a previous waxer but had to look for another when one she left the province. I read good reviews about Aroma so I decided to give them a chance. Waxing hurts but it shouln't have hurt as much as this time around. So I book my appointment and I get Gladys. The pro, she's fast. The cons, she hurt me like hell, left patches of hair everywhere and missed several hairs and no clean up. I had to clean up the wax and lotion myself. I know waxing hurts, but it's not supposed to be that painful. She worked fast (less than 10 mins) but she missed a lot of hair. While on vacation, I was hurting and itching so much that it was uncomfortable to walk. I think she might have burned me as I got bumps afterwards. The most disappointing thing was she did not remove all the hairs. My other waxer took the time to comfort me and make me feel relaxed and not rushed. When she removed the hair she made sure to press down on the spot until the pain went away. Gladys just ripped and ripped and ripped. Just like the other reviewer said, after she was done she left and was on her phone the whole time. Didn't acknowledge me as I left the room. Overall, I've had better. I don't think I will be coming back to this place. I will be looking for another waxing place that doesn't think of me as just another number. I got my eyebrows waxed, and a high bikini wax by Gena. The place was very clean. Gena was very friendly and professional. She did a great job. And it took under 20 minutes. I came here just today, not sure what to expect. They have one of the cheapest prices for what I was looking for, which was a face wax. I opted to choose individual items rather than the packaged 'Full Face' deal, because I didn't want my brows done, but I /did/ want my neck done. I emailed 2 days ago (Monday) and requested an appointment, and the person who replied me 'Stanka' was happy to oblige. They take M/C, Visa, Debit, and Cash, which is great! Stanka was able to put me in for today (Wednesday), which was the day I'd selected, and on the website it says that walk-ins are welcome. The atmosphere when I walked in was nice and trendy. Very clean, the two ladies in the front were very friendly. I had to fill out a form, because it was my first time there, with my name, skin condition (eg sensitivity, what products I'm using like ProActiv etc), and whether I would allow them to confirm appointments with my email, which there was a space to give. Filled it out, and gave it back. One of the ladies who greeted me ended up being my esthetician, Julianna. I arrived literally a minute late (appointment at 4:45, I arrived at 4:46), but there was no rush, no dirty looks, and she just promptly led me to the first available room. She was very nice, not too talkative, but just right. She hummed along to the radio that was playing in both the room and the outside hall/reception area, so I relaxed quite a bit. Oh, and did I mention that this was my first time getting waxed, EVER? Yeah, so there's that. She was great, especially when I told her, and she explained the different waxes and stuff. She was also very hygienic, no double-dipping, etc. The best part? It didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would! I hate tweezing, and threading hurts like a b*tch, so I was terrified that this would be a horrible mistake. But nope, great job! She even made sure to go over my face multiple times to see that there was no residue wax, which there was none even when I went over my face at home. Aaaanyway, some moisturizer massaged over my face, and I'm good to go! I gave her a nice big tip, and I definitely plan on coming back. I'm quite surprised about the amount of negative reviews, although it seems that the majority is for brazillians. I don't think I'm brave enough for that just yet, but I'm definitely happy with my face wax. read more
