When you come in you have to reserve on a kiosk. They hold your jackets for free so that was nice. All the employees were helpful in guiding how the courses work. My husband and I got to start about 7 min earlier than our 2:10 wait time. The courses are well decorated and entertaining. We did have fun, but it seemed that we did finish much quicker than others since it's only the two of us. Since we finished early we decided to eat and we got sat quickly but it took about 15 min for a waitress to come around to us. The dining area was pretty empty but the bar was full of servers so that was odd. Our waitress finally came and my husband and I ordered the Puttshack Poutine and The PitMaster, both very good! Pro tips: sign up online in advance for a free birthday putt putt and restaurant reservations are separate from putt putt reservations Puttshack was fun and a great place for larger groups. I came here for a birthday celebration with a large party (14 persons). We did have to make two separate reservations (7 people per one reservation to avoid additional charges) but hostess was able to get our two groups back to back in the same putt putt track (we did Ruby). I would recommend an earlier reservation ~5-6pm on a Friday/weekend night if you have a large group because shortly after 6pm it became packed and lines were forming for the putt putt. The holes were unique and interactive which I prefer more than the other putt putt rival. The food was good and our waiter was awesome for handling such a large group. Cocktails were vibrant and fun too (the jalapeño margarita has a jalapeño popsicle in it!). The restaurant portion needs a separate reservation though, so make sure you reserve in advance because it gets crowded. We didn't know about the free birthday gameplays upfront but the manager was so kind in giving our group a couple free gameplays for the future! I had such a fun time at puttshack this past weekend!! I went for a private group event and would definitely recommend setting one up if you have an organization that would be interested in this kind of outing. The food was pretty decent (I think the bang bang shrimp was my favorite), and the bar had a pretty varied wine/beer selection. The highlight is definitely the mini golf course - so fun! And I love that there are multiple you can choose from, so you can go back multiple times and do different courses. They also have wait staff to serve drinks while you play the course, so you don't have to worry about running back & forth to the bar while you play. I will definitely come back! Didn't even get in, was told that it was 21+ when we arrived at 7:45, so my son was who was 18 couldn't play. Kinda stupid it's not 18+ it's a huge college town. Once you get to your section you check in, get a high tech programmed ball and can begin putting! Putt Putt holes were the highlight of our trip! We had a blast! After completing the 9 hole course we ended up staying here for dinner. We ordered the pierogi inspired egg rolls and they were good... nothing special though. Tasted like a TGIF potato skin inside an egg roll. The kids were hungry so they ate them pretty quick. For dinner our table tried a little bit from every section of their larger menu. On the menu they make the food sound super complicated and fancy whenever it really is not. They have this burger called The OG. It's described as a brisket, chuck, & short rib patty. We asked our waitress to kind of clarify exactly what the patty was and she said "oh it's none of that it's just a classic cheeseburger... they like to throw lots of big words in the description". After hearing that it kind of threw us off the burger path. Both of the flatbreads were delicious! The cali chicken sandwhich was just grilled chicken and lettuce... again nothing crazy. A cool indoor mini golf center. They have multiple courses, but we always manage to get Emerald. You don't get to choose your course. It's easy to reserve a time online and pre-register all of your party. It's clean and well maintained. It tracks your shots electronically and has some unique holes. There's a full bar and restaurant as well, but we have yet to try either. Kids are allowed during the day with an adult, but I believe it becomes over 21 only after 9pm. If you get behind a larger party, you can play the holes in any order (except for hole 9 - has to be your last hole because you won't get your ball back). It's something fun to do during a cold winter day or even a rainy summer day. read more

I have mixed feelings. I did love the mini golfing. I think the holes are super fun and I like the "smart" balls so that you can skip holes and go out of order for time. This was a lifesaver because we somehow got 2 parties of 8 ahead of us. I also thought they had some fun and interesting set ups. I was disappointed when there were kids present as I thought we were there at the 21+ time. We also had dinner. I think it was overall ok... with kind of higher prices. We got the routine which had decent fries but way too little cheese curd. It was just overal had a weird flavor. We both got burgers. They were surprisingly more on the rare side. They were well seasoned as well. My side of "housemade" chips were a lie. They had unseasoned torilla chips from a bag and some kettle chips that were also from a bag. I just don't think that is worth 16-18 dollars. Service was pretty great though. The noise was also extremely loud. Like loud enough that we couldn't talk and it was uncomfortable. Overall, I think this place suffers from too many ideas. Music was booming like a nightclub, with no dance floor and most people want to be able to talk to each other with mini golf. Putt putt: 5 stars Food: 4 stars Wine selection: 1 star Service: maybe 2 stars? At most. My husband took me here for date night. It was a Saturday, we had dinner reservations at 5:30, and putt putt reservations at 7:30pm. We arrived right at 5:30 and had to first wait in line to get in. When we got to who I assume is intended to be the bouncer, we told him we have reservations, he ushered us from the line, told us to check the tvs above our heads, and head to our designated lane. He didn't ask us if it was dinner or putting reservations. When we realized he was talking about putting, we asked him if we could get back into line to check in for our reservation. He said we were welcome to, but told us to try and sit at the bar instead. This place was PACKED and there are maybe 12 seats around the bar. I start looking for a manager. I find someone who appears they may be able to help us. By now, it is 5:45. We tell him we have reservations, he doesn't say much, walks away, and we are left waiting near the line wondering what we were supposed to do next. The line was very long. Here is my first suggestion. Have a line for reservations, have a line for walk-in's, and have 2 greeters. About 5-10 minutes later, the manager-looking person came back and helped us to a table. Finally - yay! It was 6pm. Our server asks us what we want to drink, I order a Pinot Grigio from the menu, but she shows me the handheld machine she is using to input the order, and she doesn't have that Pinot Grigio option. I order a glass of Sauv Blanc. Success! We also ordered the Korean bbq bar tacos, poutine, and a Caesar salad. For my 2nd glass of wine, I requested another Sauv Blanc. All out. They had another option on the drink menu but they were all out of that also. I asked for Pinot Noir off the menu. All out. Are you counting? That's 3 wine options from their menu, all gone. At 6:30 on a Saturday. Not a good look. I ordered Cabernet Sauvignon and they did have that. Alright! We closed our dinner out and decided to make our way to putt putt. There we were met by Scott who did a great job narrating how the putt putt worked. He told us there was a server taking drink orders along the course, but we never saw her. Each putt putt course is 9 holes. It goes by quickly, so I recommend at least 2 games. The games are very reasonably priced, in my opinion. I'd also skip the dinner hassle and eat somewhere else before or after your putt putt plans. One last note to comment on is the bathrooms. This place just felt overrun. The bathrooms were dirty, toilet paper all over the floor, female trash in the corners of the stalls, soap dispensers empty. They had so many food runners and bartender, but everywhere else lacked staff and attention. I don't know if I'd go back again. I wanted to like our experience because my husband was so sweet to plan the evening for us. Maybe just to do the putt putt again, but I wouldn't want to deal with how unorganized the dining experience was again. read more

We came down to Puttshack with the family as something to do over the Holidays. It is located in Pittsburgh's Iconic Strip District. This was just off the main street in the strip. It was definitely a pretty fun experience. It reminded me of Top Golf, if Top Golf was mini golf. Your score is kept for you with a ball and club that are linked to computer generated score. There are fun bonuses and made for a fun/semi competitive experience. The price was pretty fair, $15 for adults and $10 for kids under 13. We did not eat, so I cannot comment on this. It was super cool in here not your average mini golf experience. The music was great and you could get drinks and food at the super cool bar in the front. There's a few different courses that you can choose from but on each hole, there's a mini game like trivia or spin the wheel that you play through mini golf which was pretty cool. Each hole records the strokes you take for you through the ball which was cool but sometimes the balls didn't work. Staff was super quick and helpful at replacing them so that was nice. We weren't sure if you could order drinks while on the put course but you could order drinks at the bar and bring them onto the course and there were little tables at each hole to put your things on. I got the berry mule to drink and was able to bring it with me while we played on the course which was nice. There's 9 holes per course and is decently priced at $14 per person a game. Since the balls have built in technology that allow them to be tracked, you can even go to different holes within your track in a different order if there are long lines for a specific hole which is nice. We went to Puttshack over Labor Day weekend and I'm still talking about it (and anxiously stalking our local location that's scheduled to open later this year). The Smallman Street location was easy to find and there's an inexpensive parking lot directly behind it, which is very convenient. We walked in since there appeared to be a lot of openings and had no issue logging in on the ipads and getting ready to play. Our group consisted of four adults and three eight-year-olds. This was hands down the most enjoyable mini-golf experience we have ever had (and I'm not just saying that because I won and had the day's high score). Each hole is so fun and unique with a new way to play each time you hit the ball. The trivia hole was definitely a group favorite. I also love that you can go in any order you want which makes the experience so much smoother. We did not try the food/driniks but did note a table at each hole which is an added bonus. read more

Our group of 20 come on a slow Wednesday in August. Our table server was courteous and attentive during our dinner service. They were out of several ingredients for cocktails and mocktails. We split up into smaller groups when we made reservations for playing a round of mini golf. According to the staff at the hostess stand, there is no way to pay for your game of golf separately at the kiosks. My group of 4 did a round on the Sapphire course. It is not typical mini-golf. It's more like an arcade game with each hole having a theme (beer pong, skeeball, connect four, trivia). And you can win bonus points or demerits so there's strategy involved and the player with the most points wins. It was a fun post-meal activity. It was a surprisingly clean space including the bathrooms. The music and lighting created a warm ambiance. It's a large space so coming on a less busy night was ideal as our group was easily accommodated. As it's located at The Terminal there is paid parking behind or free after 6 o'clock street parking out front. I enjoyed my first visit at this new establishment. read more

Absolutely not worth it. First when you walk in I asked the hostess what do we do and she said we had to register online in one of the kiosks. Fine, but took forever and then I had to go back and say now what? She sent us over to two young gentleman and we said we never been here before and please explain. They said we can start wherever we like on the course . So we did and went through the 9 courses in only about 15 minutes. Then I was told our "score" would be sent to me. Where? I have no email or text with our score. We were in and out in of 25 minutes. Way to expensive and confusing and we aren't even old.
