We recently had PV Heating, Cooling & Plumbing out to our home because we needed to replace our old water heater. Due to the location of the water heater, it was a complicated removal and installation, but PV did it quickly, professionally, and for a terrific price. From the first phone call to the installation things went smoothly. My husband called PV on a Sunday and the very next day they had a crew on the way to our home. The techs, Devin C and Christopher Jones were amazing. They arrived exactly when they said they would, walked us through our options and always kept our budget and best interests in mind. Once we had a plan, Devin and Christopher got right to work and did a complicated demo, installation and clean up quickly, efficiently and best of all with quality workmanship. We couldn't be happier with our new water heater and will definitely be using PV for all our plumbing and HVAC needs moving forward and will specifically asking for Devin or Christopher because they both went above and beyond to make sure our family had hot water quickly and safely. I'm editing my review to add that yesterday we had to have PV back out, this time to address an AC unit that was not cooling and the tech that they sent, Andre M, was also terrific. The pricing of their business is crazy. It's hard on a homeowner if you're not there to decide whether to go with their services, and you're pretty much at the whim of whoever is helping you do things. I think if you price and find multiple bids on what you're trying to get done, you could definitely have a better experience. Let's just say that to replace some putty on a sink basket was $199. Putty costs $1.50. So I paid for 15 minutes of work and didn't even get the leftover putty. I also had PV Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing replace my pretty much new water heater with a new water heater because my previous water heater wasn't up to code. That was a $7,400 replacement. I think that was probably along the lines of unnecessary changes. I didn't really get to inspect or enjoy their services, but it was needed to sell the house. The price from PV Heating, Cooling and Plumbing is on the high side. I would recommend to get a quote from them and several others for the work that you need to be done. read more

The so called professional work and expertise that they say justifies them given me a price $1,000 higher than others, it's not worth it. I had a water line leak and PV came out and looked and the price was way too high. Even after I told them the price range of my other estimates. The other company gave me 3 options, PV Heating only gave me one option and didn't include doing any sheet rock repair of the walls. They were going to install piping on the outside of the walls, insulated of course, because they do not do wall repair after opening up the walls. Instead of inside the walls out if sight. I don't think they do carpentry at all! And they were still much higher. I've used them before and they do my HVAC maintenance they're good with that, but major work, they are just too over priced. The price to clean the blower fan on my furnace was so ridiculously high. I don't think I will be calling them for any more estimates. I'm not rich. I'm sure they will do good work, but these days with the price of EVERYTHING being so high, they don't fit my budget. read more

I am truly at a loss over these great reviews. I am giving PV 2 stars for the knowledge and ability of their plumber/technician. Its been a few months and I forget his name, but he was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and quick. But my experience with pricing and management leaves a lot to be desired. So, we have a leak and called PV since they do a basic inspection for free with more intensive diagnostic work costing more. Thankfully, the leak was found with just a visual observation. The plumber told us they could replace our pipe down to the meter for a LOT of money, and it would take all day, or he could just repair the leak for about $1400, but we would get a discount if we signed up for a year long plan that I am not even sure what we got for it. That cost us $70+ dollars but saved us over $140, so it was a net win. My problem begins with the $1400 bill. I absolutely approved the estimate, but the plumber completed the work in under an hour. So I called and complained about such a high bill for an hours worth of work, and spoke to 2 different executives with the company. Both essentially told me the same story: 1 - you pay a professional a premium for their expertise. Like when you go repair your car. Stupid excuse. When I go repair my car, I am given exact pricing for the parts and labor and I have never paid $1400/hour for car labor. 2 - They have a minimum of 2 hours labor payment. Okay, so I am paying $700/hour for plumbing? When i explained that even most attorneys don't charge that, they asked what that has to do with it? I don't know, the same thing as your stupid car repair example? 3 - He was actually at the house for 2 hours. No, he was not, but even if he was, your diagnostic and inspection is free, so don't give me that BS. 4 - They have to pay a premium for quality plumbers and technicians, and van upkeep, etc. Sorry, even though I get that, you're still charging me $700/hour. 5 - I was asked what i thought would be fair. I do not know, but you cannot tell me that is a reasonable hourly rate for this expertise. Maybe $300 or $400 and hour? Isn't that really damn good? 6 - the tech did a great a great job, even going "above and beyond" by installing a pipe sleeve or something like that. Sure, true, he was great, but even the tech told us that the "sleeve" or cover or whatever should have been a standard installation by the person who originally did the pipes. That's not above and beyond, that's standard practice. In the end, they offered me a 10% rebate, but cmon, i still page $630/hour then! This was highway robbery. Again, I fully admit i accepted the estimate, but no one told me it would be a simple 30-45 minute job. This company does good work, but not only will you pay a premium, they will rob you blind. Go with a mom/pop shop or someone local. Not these thieves. read more

Was very unpleasant trying to schedule a quote with this business. I had an original appt for a quote in a time window of 8-12. I messaged them via yelp in the morning and asked if they are on track: they said no and that they sent the tech somewhere else. They tried to reschedule and I told them I was not available at the proposed time. Despite this, the company showed up anyway and created an awkward situation by arriving the same time as another contractor (who I did schedule) for the same bid. If a business cannot handle basic scheduling and communication there is no way I will trust them with a $10k+ job. Do better. read more

We found PV through the GaPower HEAR program as an authorized contractor. After getting four total estimates, it quickly became obvious that PV's participation as a pilot-phase participant in late 2024 put them ahead of their competitors in how to fulfill the program requirements. We opted to use PV because they offered a Daikin HVAC unit with a 115v variable speed blower connected to a Cold Climate rated inverter outside heat pump. This saved us unnecessary expense by not requiring a new 240v line to the attic and it greatly improved upon our existing 33yo unit. A word of caution is that they used a subcontractor for our installation and that crew did not properly charge the system with the necessary R32 refrigerant. When the QCA happened the following week, the internal team found the system low by a full 2-pounds. read more

The seller used this company for new heat pump just before closing. This 10k+ pump can't function in the cold and shuts off to keep my old house at a balmy 47-52 degrees. The first time they came to "fix" the repair man said " super weird" about 10x about my heat pump and situation . Blamed the ecobee. Next freezing weekend this sh*t pump stopped working again: 52 degrees in house. Have been waiting for emergency repair for 6 hours! If you want to keep your family and home safe , I would reccomend George Gary Mechanical! I'm stuck with this company bc this pump is under warranty but I'll be Calling Bryson to fix this! read more

PV replaced my HVAC years ago. I've used their maintenance service ever since then. The service men have always been professional. However, Luis G. offered the highest level of service that I've experienced with the company. He was on time and communicated his arrival. As he was putting his booties on to protect my floor, he asked if I had any questions. It just so happened I did and would have forgotten had he not asked. Luis was knowledgeable, personable, and professional. He explained technical responses in a manner I could easily understand. He made multiple recommendations that left me with options and not more questions. I really love customer service and Luis G. did a stellar job! I hope I am able to request him in the future. I was just driving East down Ponce (towards Decatur) and one of their vehicles, 104 to be exact, was tailgating me, honking bc I was going the speed limit, weaving in and out of traffic and overall being insanely wreck less. Tech was inexperienced and asked for 4 C-notes to fix. Denied! Turns out it wasn't even the pressure switch as originally diagnosed but something else! Really disappointed with these fraudulent practices! The HVAC downstairs (old; pilot light based) was not even diagnosed properly: the young, inexperienced tech had little to no idea what he was doing and that pilot-based HVACs even existed... The one upstairs asked for a new pressure switch according to tech (Er*k)... It turns out the tech didn't quite know what the heck he was talking about! Even so, a part which costs $25 should not require a $400 installation fee! Moreover, tech was over 3 hours late in coming in to designated appointment time...Told these clowns to screw off even though had to pay $99 for original diagnostic fee (lesson learned)! I've been a Peavey customer since the Peavey brothers started the company. I was looking to replace a heat pump that went bad and stumbled upon a review when they just started the business. I was very impress at the professionalism and service. Since then, I have had 3 units installed and yearly service. The customer service is exceptional and the service is professional. I just had my upstairs unit replaced by Peavey this week. The install went smoothly and the job was done quickly (it was estimated to be a 2 day job, and completed in 1 day). They may be a bit more expensive compared to other HVAC companies (but then again maybe not since I have only used them) but you most definitely get what you paid for..great, prompt service and follow up. I highly recommend them! As a matter of fact, all my neighbors have become loyal customers! read more

I was a first time homeowner and did not know much about the importance of routine maintenance to get the most out of my system. I signed up for the monthly maintenance service plan. If thought I moved for a few years, based on that experience, I knew I found a company for life. Fast forward to a week ago, it was time to replace my two systems (main level and upstairs) after a renter left my home and I returned. Based on past experience, I did not bother searching for another company. I bypassed all the searching and contacted PV. The sales person met me at my home on time, did a walk-through of my home (inside and out) and provided me with a few options. He reviewed the options with me, giving me pros and cons of each without pressuring me in either direction. He educated me about upcoming industry changes that help me make a more informed decision. The installation was scheduled and took place over 2 days. The technicians that completed the installation were on time, professional and prompt . They kept me informed on the status as I teleworked. A few days after completion, PV returned to my home based on my request and determined that I could get more efficiency and performance from my system by addressing a ductwork issue caused by pests that got into my attic. They repaired some of the ductwork and replaced my thermostat, free of charge. Overall, I had a stellar experience with each PV employee I interacted with by phone and in person. I received the same service recently that I came to know many years so. Customer satisfaction and education are top priorities for PV. From the first month of getting my home a few years back, I've gone with PV for all my heating and cooling needs. The technicians are all top notch, not only doing their job, but going above and beyond to make sure it's actually taken care of, and explaining it to the customer. Eventually, I also used them for a new AC unit installation. One of the owners came out to go over the measurements and explained the different options. No hard sales tactics, he even told me I didn't need as big as unit as I previously had. Price seemed in line with Google estimates. They used Trane as the main brand name, but also had others. The install was done quickly, and any minor issues I had were quickly addressed by management. I've had a good relationship with the company, and hope to continue that going forward (though I hope I won't have to call them for any issues anytime soon). read more

I had been using a well known BIG company for my maintenance and repair but they were gauging me and trying to sell me a new unit before I needed. They were using scare tactics stating that the prices were going up and better get them at today's pricing. This had been going on for over two years. My units are/were 14 years but I kept the maintained but a recent storm I believe, with power outages, wiped out one of my units on a Thursday. I hoped it would be an easy repair but when the repair estimate that this other well known company gave me was over $9700, I knew that the time had come to replace the one unit. I went to a friend who owns his own HVAC but he is too small to install units and he recommended me to PV Heating and Air. My friend called them for me and within 5 minutes, they called me and scheduled a sales person to come out. From the time of the call which was about 8:30 am to the completion of the INSTALLATION of a new unit, it was all finished by 7pm the on Friday. Was I impressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Same day service like that. Usually doesn't exist. Three brothers own the company and not only do they treat their customers like gold, their employees report they are good to them as well. They wanted to charge doh ld what they did for a maintenance call 3 years ago. I've called over 8 other places... all were 1/2 the price I was quoted. And unlike PV who would come when it was lightly rainy. All of the companies buy one said they could come today. I get inflation factors but when your competitors are way less... you are clearly gauging the public. read more

I called PV to come look at our unit. As luck would have it, during the first heat wave our AC went out. They sent a technician over and he said it was operating fine, we needed better insulation in our home. He then offered a maintenance plan for $170 on top of the $70 for the house visit. My Nest thermostat was saying it was 84 degrees in the home yet the AC was kicked down to the 70s. How is this operating as intended? This just doesn't feel right. I've lived in the house for years and the AC has always cooled more than well. The insulation did not simply become an issue from one summer to the next. Asking us to pay for an additional maintenance plan when we haven't truly found the problem? So, basically I'm out $70 and I was left with the problem not fixed. I am a landlord with multiple properties. I was hoping to finally find a company I can count on. So disappointed and heart broken. read more

Our house is near 50 years old with ducts needing to be addressed. These guys were awesome! They solved our problems and never skipped a beat in addressing issues as the install went along. When supplies were needed, they were in constant contact with their office. The new Trane System is working so well. I had a few companies come look at our system and they did not want to come up with solutions to address the old duct work, just wanted to install a new system. In short, My air was working fine until they came and changed the filter and now it's not as hell in my house on the hottest day of the year. After reading the other reviews, the one that I'm leaving wont be much different. I eagerly await for Paul to hop in the comments to this review to completely discredit my experience as they have in all the other negative reviews. My air went out in May 2019. I was told the normal spill (old unit, no point in putting more money in it. r22 isn't in production anymore because of the government, etc. etc. etc.) So I Paid 2700 for a new furnace. (because that's all they suggested I needed, not a coil not a compressor just a furnace.) And it has been working flawlessly ever since. Yesterday, PV came out to change the filter on the most recent purchased unit and to check the other two to see why they weren't working. The one of the main floor, that was using the newly purchased furnace, was blowing fine. The "recommendation"(read: sales pitch) Alex the technician provided was that the main unit was cooling but not to max potential. And could use a top off. The other two (on the 3rd floor and basement) More than likely had a leak and could be paid to be refilled but should all and all be replaced because old, etc etc. Not 24 hours later, out of the blue the main unit isn't cooling at all. Another technician comes out and now, it may be a leak in the coil of the main unit. and Paul was very adamant that Alex suggested we were low on Freon. No he said it was working fine and we could use a top off. So how in the world does is go from needing a top off, and me needing a blanket to sit on the couch, to it being a leak in the coil and 87 degrees in my living room? Paul's POV was only solution is to spend a little money on freon or a lot on a new unit lol. His exact words were " I don't think we should have to take a hit because you didn't listen to the recommendation". Again, mighty big coincidence that my air went from working before they came yesterday to randomly needing a new coil for a leak that wasn't discussed. All in all they suck. Our HVAC unit was 20+ years old and blew out this summer. My wife independently (w/o any referrals or knowledge of this company) researched the various HVAC companies in metro-Atlanta and landed on PV as the best option. We got a couple estimates; PV was middle of the pack but offered the best financing option and included a pre and post installation. The sales rep Jason (believe also the co-owner) was super knowledgeable and friendly. The crew they sent out for the install was also very knowledgeable and did the full install (outdoor unit, furnace/fan, duct work, and thermostat) in one day. From first call to install was about a week. The post install QA check was also great; the company sent an inspector who went back over the work and fixed two minor aesthetic issues.
