I actually never thought in a million years I would see him in person at my gym, but there he was . He saw me using the app and came over and said hi. He told me he still trained at a gym under Sunset Towers and Sunset and offered a free couple sessions to help keep figure out my workout plan and path. I've been training with him for two years now and it's sometimes the singular thing I really can look forward To in a hard week . His app and his workouts are the best . I'm the leanest and strongest I've ever been and he has crafted me into my personal feminine ideal. I have my booty and my curves BUT not the unneeded body fat lol. Every session is different and we target different muscles and different ways to pinpoint them . He is very specific and detailed in my legs especially and knows every exercise in the world seemingly at this point . We laugh a lot and talk about just about anything - that helps me to be distracted through a lot of the strenuous stuff . It's like I've figured out my life and body at the same time haha Adam as many know requires accountability . On days we don't train I usually have assignments to do on my own . He either checks them on the app or in person by asking me for a text update . He also checks on my diet and nutrition weekly and at the start daily . He pretty much is just a huge needed part of your life

He has instilled a level of confidence, discipline and pride that I never had before and it bleeds into everything I do, relationships and especially my business. In the first two years I lost 20 pounds and had my body fat percent down to a consistent 13-14 on a hydrostatic from a high of 26 percent . The best part is I worked my ass off to get there BUT I maintained it for the next five years as almost an afterthought. Adam instilled the habits and kept on me to keep pushing through adversity and change in my personal life. He does my nutrition , programming and uses the app to make sure I do basically the same workouts we do, but on my own. Adam also is known for checking in ..... A LOT! Almost every day I hear from him . Maybe that's because we are basically family now, but he just cares so much and wants you to be your best you. Last year while recovering from a back injury, I decided to book a few sessions with a personal trainer to help me get back into exercising safely. A friend recommended Virtuo, and I was happy to find out it was a smaller gym. It immediately felt welcoming and friendly. I worked out with Keith and enjoyed it so much that my "few sessions" turned into 8 months of training with him. Keith was knowledgeable, supportive, and always encouraging. He helped me rebuild my strength and confidence while always being mindful of my back. He was also genuinely fun to talk to, which made every workout way more enjoyable! One thing I especially appreciated was that the staff never assumed my goal was to lose weight or change my appearance. The focus was always on getting stronger and healthier. Even my nutrition calls with Sarita focused on building sustainable habits and eating for energy rather than calorie restriction or chasing some number on the scale. If your goals do include fat loss or looking amazing, they can absolutely help with that (they are all in incredible shape themselves!) but they will never make you feel pressured into something that doesn't align with your goals. You'd expect a room full of fit trainers to be intimidating, but somehow here it's the opposite. I never once walked into Virtuo feeling intimidated or walked out feeling self-conscious. The owner Brandon and his entire staff are some of the kindest people I've met in LA. There's a real sense of community, everyone cheering each other on, genuinely good vibes, and lots of laughs. The only reason I'm leaving is because I'm moving out of the neighborhood, and I'm so sad to go. I can't recommend Virtuo enough!

A little inspiration never hurts, right? I was a long time runner who found myself completely disheartened after multiple hip surgeries and other orthopedic issues. After graduating from PT, I had a hard time finding my way back to exercise with the right method. I felt lost about how to workout without fear or pain and was looking for a solution but, really - I guess I was looking for Thaddeus. He treated my process like an exciting project that we shared which made the whole experience feel like an adventure! As patient and encouraging as he is, he doesn't cut much slack! Before I knew it, my workouts felt like a second job. I often referred to him as an exercise dictator and tried to threaten him with my pointy shoe collection, but he insisted that barefoot shoes were best for my issues. No matter how much I put up a fight, I knew he really believed in me and that was everything. Thad was really invested in my injury recovery and genuinely cared about seeing me doing what I love again without pain. He also helped me discover new types of exciting workouts, which took the pressure off of being a runner again right away. He always goes above and beyond and even spent time experimenting with some of the new techniques with me, which made me feel less alone on the journey. Thanks to him, I was able to finish a 10mile race strong; the first one since my hip surgeries 4 years ago. I am much stronger and in less pain. TRAINING WITH THADDEUS, 12 WEEKS TO TRANSFORMATION…read more At age 60, I believe--conveniently--- in the continual process of regeneration. This somehow worked to my favor recently as I emerged from a decade-long Dark Age, a seemingly endless period of inactivity and exhaustion brought on by thyroid autoimmune disease, Epstein Barr Virus, anemia, and arthritis. A total knee replacement three years prior did not result in pain-free walking. At too young an age I found myself wondering if I would ever feel good, energetic, and nimble again. This illness debilitated me, ended my very successful career, and limited my social activities including all thoughts of sex. I felt sad and over time grudgingly adapted to bad health by finding slower, smaller, quieter ways to find joy. Early in my physical breakdown, it occurred to me that I could heal myself with a correct diet, and I hired a brilliant private chef/nutritionist/teacher: I subsequently spent years developing a personal diet and supplementation plan that stabilized me. Then a surprising 2021 end-of-year blood panel showed relatively normal results (!) and inspired me to imagine and shoot for.... regeneration! In February 2022 I began a process to test and extend my physical limits: I decided to dust-off my weights, gather all my equipment, find a trainer and begin to get strong again. I found Thaddeus via an online search for nearby private trainers. Thaddeus was based at a gym a mere three blocks from my apartment, earned strong, positive reviews, and at my request, agreed to give an intro session at my home. Smiling face, handsome guy at the door. It was an excellent first session based on his assessment of my (lack of) fitness. He asked good questions, gave good explanations, patiently identified the muscle groups in focus, encouraged bravery and focus especially for those final reps, and was respectful. It was clear he was also well- studied in musculature. I liked his intelligence. Without hesitation I purchased a 20 session package and began training a week later. That first week was the only "one-session week" with Thaddeus: My unexercised body clearly needed the discipline of a structured session twice a week, and it responded quickly. Thad gave me homework and expected me to confirm nightly that the structural work was complete. Within the first 6 weeks, I became stronger, more agile, my knee pain was mostly gone and my glorious endorphins had kicked in. My "chi" roared back into high energy. After many sessions, I would imagine that bolts of energy were shooting out from my fingers. I felt restored very quickly, and without injury. I went through a physical and mental transformation within weeks that was palpable to me and confirmed by others. I am still transmitting my new energy to my world: Friends say they feel a new positive power emanating from me. The pounds dropped off---14 pounds in 12 weeks. I know that there is no way I could have achieved this alone. I had the right trainer at the right time. Thank you Thaddeus. I think it's important to express my gratitude to this person who gave me life-changing help, and to the universe which illuminated a potentially strong partnership for me. Thad is a great teacher and trainer, and I'm a good student. I feel lucky, and intend to train with him for a long time.

The locker rooms are on the first floor, the men's LR is labeled, "John" & the women's is labeled, "Jane". The space is colorfully designed and has a sleek, curvature aesthetic. Picture arch entry ways, gold oval-shaped mirrors, plush throne chairs & neon decor lights. . There are several levels and the floral carpeted stairs lead to a lounge, a room with weights and exercise machines, and another long hall that will take you to the treadmills, ellipticals, and stairclimbers. The space is also pretty clean and they offer complimentary toiletries including lotion, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. . The lockers come with dial locks, but they are tricky to use and no instructions on how to were posted. I kept mine unlocked and all of my belongings were present post workout. The greatest amenities live on the ground floor being the sauna, outdoor jacuzzi & pool. Although it was overcast today, I still got a good soak. . Right now, they are offering a promotion for two months free until February 12th. If you're in the abundant area of West Hollywood, be sure to check them out!

But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

My younger son joined not knowing anyone and felt welcomed almost immediately. Both of my boys felt included from day one. The staff is incredibly caring, supportive, and attentive. You can truly feel that they work hard to create a safe, joyful environment for the kids, and as a parent that means everything. The activities are fantastic: well planned, age appropriate, engaging, and fun. The natural setting is also beautiful and feels especially important these days. My boys came home with confidence, stories, friendships, and summer memories they will cherish forever. And the camp spirit is real. We still sing the silly songs at home, especially the announcements song whenever we have a family announcement, and the birthday song too. I cannot recommend Cali Camp enough. As usual, water in the room costs money, and there are a few other products with hidden price tags in the room, too. Surprisingly, toothbrush and toothpaste was not provided. The water for showering also doesn't get too hot. In terms of the athletic space, the machines were very easy to access. There was never a wait even on weekend afternoons. The lap pool was my favorite part - clean and calm. There was some miscommunication between the lobby and the store, as one said there is no reservation system but there in fact was. But even when told all the lanes were fully reserved, more than half weren't in use. Parking is a bit of a hassle; for non-members it's definitely not worth it. At the time of visit, the parking machine wasn't working. There are also sperate elevators for parking vs the athletic club / hotel area which was a little confusing. The stair numbers also didn't coordinate the best with actual level.

I've had the pleasure of taking classes at The Athletic Body, and it has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Coach Hoop and Coach Kelly, both of whom are incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Their approach immediately put me at ease, and their commitment to their clients' success is evident. Coach Kelly, in particular, made sure I stayed hydrated throughout the class, going above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and well-supported. The facility itself is fantastic - each station is a fully equipped mini-gym, and the class is accessible with free parking, making it easy to attend. One of the standout aspects of this class was the emphasis on stretching and warming up, something I haven't experienced at this level in other fitness studios. It was refreshing and set the tone for a well-rounded workout. The structure is somewhat similar to Orange Theory, with the added benefit of being able to monitor your heart rate and performance in real-time. Coach Hoop was incredibly diligent in monitoring form, offering corrections when needed. It felt almost like a one-on-one session with how personalized the feedback was. The coaching style is all about pushing you to your limit - but in the most encouraging and supportive way possible. I'm looking forward to coming back! If u haven't tried this place yet then u dont know what u r missing! Its the best workout in LA!!!!!! The best Coach and the best Nutritionist! As a result of joining the 8 week challenge and working out daily, I feel energetic strong happy and Im losing weight! I love this place! The moment u decide to transform and upgrade your health, lifestyle, habits and energy, all u need is the right environment! So I am so happy and excited in this journey to become the best version of myself thanks to Coach Hoop and Coach Kelly that provide me will all the professional support mentally physically and Nutrition wise! I have taken a few classes at The Athletic Body with Coach Hoop, and boy, he knows his stuff! He creates a mix of fun, yet challenging workout moves that really bring out the athlete in you. And the transitions from one muscle group to the next make sense unlike some trainers in other gyms where it seems like they just throw a bunch of moves in a circuit and there is no rhyme or reason at all. He is very involved throughout the class to check your form and motivate each member in the group to push through. I feel positive that coming here will make me well-rounded in strength, endurance, calisthenics -- just like how an athlete should be. Other notable positives: parking has been super easy at least in the mornings that I have been coming (this is LA! Parking is incredibly important), equipment is clean, good quality, and they wipe it down themselves after each class. There's plenty of space to workout in your station plus they have towel service. The owner, Coach Kelly, is incredibly nice, down to earth, and she is very much hands-on in maintaining a great quality gym. After being sidelined by a knee injury for two months, I was eager but cautious about returning to a workout routine. I chose to take two classes at The Athletic Body (TAB), and the experience has been exceptional. Coach Hoop, in particular, paid close attention to my situation, ensuring that the workouts didn't put undue pressure on my knees, while still providing a challenging and engaging experience. The rest of the staff, including the detail-oriented Coach Kelly, contributes to a personalized and thoughtful group workout. The classes, encompassing stretching, strength training, cardio, and monitored progress through heart rate monitors, are designed with precision and care. I absolutely loved this studio. The workout was amazing and honestly such a nice change from the typical HIIT classes. It's a really good mix of strength, flexibility, balance, and cardio, so you feel like you're getting a full workout without it being repetitive. If you have any kind of athletic background, this is an amazing strength and conditioning workout that actually challenges you. The studio is super clean, which I always appreciate, and I love that you have your own station so you're not running all over the place between exercises. It just makes everything feel more organized and way less chaotic. I tried my first strength and conditioning class at The Athletic Body this past week and I walked out feeling great! The class was definitely challenging and I have much to work on as it has been a while since I stepped into a gym. Coach Hoops was attentive and helped me modify the workout and corrected my form when needed. I did not feel at all intimidated walking into the gym for the first time. I felt welcomed and encouraged, not only by Coach Kelly and Coach Hoops, but also by those talking the class. I saw different levels of ability within the class and spoke with someone who loves the community and benefits she has gained by attending multiple classes weekly. What a great way to start your day! As a busy mom with zero time to work out, Athletic Body has been a game changer. The class was an hour of fun, full-body exercise that left me feeling accomplished and sore in all the right places. The kind of workout that your body craves. Kelly is so sweet. If you are looking for a trainer that provides you with sweat equity, fun, upbeat and high calorie burning workouts then Coach Hoop is the best guy for the job. I have been going to him for quite a while and he has help me regain my athletic stamina after rupturing my Achilles. Coach Hoop is the best! I finally found a gym where the trainer keeps me motivated and encouraged. He caters to any injuries you may have and gives you the right exercises to strengthen that area. All the workouts are different so it never feels like you're doing the same thing over and over again. He helps you with your form and makes sure that you are doing the exercises correctly while still teaching a class. Coach Hoop is great. I highly recommend trying out a class or two. read more

I recently found this gym and am so glad I did! The early morning hours work perfectly for my schedule, which was really important to me. Amazing workout with Coach Hoop! There was lots of variety of exercises and equipment to keep it interesting and very up temp. He was there to help with corrections and adjustments on form. It was mostly on for a full hour with a some rests in between exercises. I definitely felt "worked" afterwards and wound up taking a 2 hour nap - but I haven't been to a gym in a long time. Ivan is a fantastic trainer. He has helped me so, so much in my ongoing recovery from ACL surgery as well as my overall strength and fitness. For the first time ever, I really look forward to going to the gym due to my progress and results. He has played a huge part in helping me build confidence in working out and a love for the gym. I was going for a PR today and Ramiro (general manager) stopped what he was doing to cheer me on, then flagged when I was loosing form and corrected me to make sure I can train safely. Parking is easy with validation (1 hr 15 mins) in the structure... just don't go over or you'll lose it. Street parking works too if you're early. When you arrive, you will need to check-in. There's always been different receptionists each time and they have been kind. There are small lockers at check-in, and large mirrors, showers, hair ties, lotion, shaving cream, q-tips, and a hair dryer in the restroom. Our instructor, Omar, is very personable and makes newcomers feel welcome. He announced he now only teaches BoxUnion Burn (1 Hr) at 10:45 AM on Saturdays. I was nervous at first, especially seeing the dark room, LED lights, and loud music. I get overstimulated easily, but they offer ear plugs and I liked how spacious it was. You'll need to rent gloves and wraps ($10-15 each) unless you bring your own. After my first class, I invested in them and a ClassPass membership (they have their own too) since I only come once a week and don't live nearby. The class includes punching combos, HIIT, ab work, and freestyle. Omar took the time to correct my form. Highly recommend stretching beforehand. Haven't tried other instructors, but if you prefer focusing on form, ask if any trainers offer personal sessions. I highly recommend this class if traditional gyms aren't your thing or you just want to hit something for funzies :b! Side note: I have personal beef with the trash can at the women's restroom exit... that flap + photo credit to my sister who's been here longer.

Alfonso knows his stuff, and while I come to several classes a week, I have never ever had the same workout twice. Nothing boring, nothing mundane going on here. All exercise, fun and total joy every time I come. And good music! I used to dread coming to the gym, let alone dragging myself out of bed to exercise. Now, I look forward to coming to Merge to work out and never miss a chance to come. I can't believe I am saying it, but I really love working out thanks to Alfonso and his whole program. He's not just a great trainer, but he is a wonderful person who brings out the best in every person he works with. He is like a friend who encourages you to do great things because you want to do it, not because he is making you. The classes are reasonably priced, privates are even more reasonable. Working with someone of his caliber, he's a total steal. He's very particular about whom he choses to work with, so I feel very fortunate to be able to work with him. In the past year, Alfonso has helped me lose over 30 lbs and counting, all just diet and exercise... and I have had no trouble keeping it off. Still going... I have been to Equinox, LA Fitness, Zumba, Tracy Anderson and Yoga Works, Various Pilates Studios, I've tried all the programs I could think of to get fit and healthy, I have had endless trainers who promised they could make me thin and fit... So you get this reformer, that is usually the only one left because nobody wants it, and you cannot see anything you're doing. Before you even finished with the class, the people in the class after you stampede their way in, and wait by your reformer while you're still actively working out! Waiting for you to vacate your reformer so they can hop in. It's so uncomfortable. It's like they're waiting by the door like The Walking Dead, and stumbled their way in to hover over you. All in all, I'm not coming back.
