Between parking fees, gas, tolls, and the concern of leaving our car for that long, hiring a car service seemed like the smart choice. Unfortunately, the driver never showed up. At our scheduled pickup time, I called and initially reached voicemail. After leaving a message and waiting a few minutes, I called again. This time someone answered and simply said, "we screwed up--do you have another way to get to the airport?" We had no choice but to drive ourselves. While we were away, the company emailed offering a complimentary ride home. However, this was not helpful since our car was already at the airport. As a result, we ended up paying about $150 more in parking alone than we would have for the original round-trip service--on top of gas and tolls. Overall, this experience showed a lack of reliability and accountability. I would not recommend this car service.

It never officially gave me a price for the ride but I figured it couldn't be too crazy and said that the quote was pending. Only to find out they charged me $1,008 for a 20 minute limo ride saying there is a 4 hour minimum. I called the company to see if there was any way they could take some off since that was nowhere on the online booking and we only used them for 20 minutes. They said no and hung up. Very upsetting. Not to mention the 20 minutes that we did use the limo for, the music and sound didn't work so we sat in silence most of the trip. Overall not a great experience and now I'm out $1000 for a lousy 20 minute limo ride. Would not recommend this company.

By the end of the day I'd just given up, and scheduled another company for a ride. When that company had to cancel on us, I decided to call Maine Lift directly. The woman who answered said... "Your request sounds familiar. Have we spoken before?" I said "No, but I did use your website to put in a request, but never heard anything back. Did you send an e-mail or try to call me?" SHE said: "Uh .. no .. I never got around to it". We have friends and family flying in and out of the Portland FBO all summer. They will NOT be using Maine Lift.

I'd called in the mid morning for a pick up at 1:30 PM that same day, and he agreed to take me. He was prompt, very pleasant, and was a careful driver. Traveled again with him just recently and would recommend highly. New, spacious and clean car. It is outfitted with an enclosed rooftop luggage rack, and the suv looks like it sits at least six. Anyway, glad I found steve. A real lifesaver.
