What I didn't expect was having to follow up just to let them know the clubs came wrong. Their fix? Send me two more wedges... still wrong. From there it turned into a complete mess. THREE different employees got involved, and somehow each handoff made things worse. One reorders, another takes over with zero context, clearly never read the emails or documentation I already sent, and just keeps things moving knowing the clubs were already wrong. No communication, no ownership--just a cycle of confusion. Then they tell me to measure the clubs myself. That's where it really went downhill. I'm paying for custom-built clubs, and now I'm doing their quality control? So I did. I confirmed specs with TaylorMade and even paid a shop to measure everything. Taylor made even said they ordered them wrong. Specs should be true online even if it's a custom standard stock spec. While they said they talked with them. Not a single club was correct. After all that, the manager's solution is basically: send them back. No urgency. No accountability. No real apology. They tell me on the phone they have good customer relationship with TaylorMade. So what was hard to get it right the second time around. Here's what their mistake cost me: * 2 months of credit card interest * Gas running around fixing quality control their problem * Paying out of pocket to verify specs * Hours of wasted time I ordered these ahead of an international trip so I could practice. Now I have no time left and nothing usable because they couldn't get a basic order right. Meanwhile, I placed a similar order through PGA Tour Superstore--they got it right the first time and shipped fast. That's how it's supposed to work. So I can't blame TaylorMade because seems like they are doing their job right. If they get the order right with pga superstore and shipped it to me from their manufacturing facility. Seems like they're not the problem. And just to top it off--I also ordered an iron set from Carl's a while back. At this point, I'll probably have to get those checked too, because based on this experience, I wouldn't be surprised if they messed that up as well. Bottom line: If you're ordering anything custom, avoid Carl's Golfland. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. Not worth talking to people who can't even do their job ordering without cross referencing manufacture specs. Like McDonald's gets my order partially correct. Not completely wrong. But still have the time to take care of customer's complaint. So who knows when my refund will be issued with compensation. This company just another company willing to take peoples money. We all know golf profit margins around 20-40%. I would never walk in there store or facility. Or even buy online from them again.

Fun fact for the staff here, in 2025 than 8 million women and girls played golf on-course. That's…read morean all-time high since 2019. Women now represent 28% of all on-course golfers. That's not a niche market, that's meaningful buying power. Unsurprisingly, women also lead, participate in, and influence a significant portion of major household purchasing decisions. For example, thousands of dollars worth of clubs. In any sales environment, acknowledging every customer who walks through the door isn't just courteous, it's smart business. Unfortunately, during my visit, the lack of engagement felt noticeable. What could have resulted in two sales ultimately resulted in none. Beyond the missed revenue opportunity, the experience felt dismissive. I've been golfing for nearly a decade, have participated in multiple leagues and currently active in numerous female-focused golf groups. I value supporting businesses that actively support and welcome women in the game. Based on this experience, I don't recommend this company.`Not to any of my girlfriends or guy friends. Remember, it costs zero dollars to acknowledge women.

Unfortunately I would not recommend Scott to build any clubs. He does not display a professional…read moreattitude when it comes to his customers or his work. This is not a rant or tirade that most people post nowadays, but more of a sense that I truly did not get treated fairly by this small business. In any of the messages trying to work this out with Scott, I did not swear, use vulgar, or strong offensive language when trying to rectify my issue. I told him what I wanted to do to make the issue right again and offered to pay also. I gave him my 7 and 9 iron for him to add the weight into the head like he said he could do. I had reached out to him asking him when I would be able to pick up my clubs, he mentioned he was waiting on lead powder to get the swing weight complete. He took the heads off the shafts he found that it was more difficult to add the weight into the tip of the shaft than he anticipated. He did not inform me that he was not able to add the weight to the head like we discussed before ordering lead powder and he was going to add lead powder down the shaft to complete the task without my knowledge or approval on doing that. I was not mad that he could not add the weight like he said he could, but I was upset that he was going to add lead powder which is not something I had approved of as I have had bad experiences in the past with lead powder to adjust swing weight and never wanted to go down that route again. It is my clubs and he should be consulting his customers on what they want done, not just completing the task at hand. Once I found out that he could not add the weight as we discussed I asked him to place the clubs back together and I would pick them up. I was prepared to pay him for his time but he said he had to be somewhere and I wouldn't be charge because he couldn't do it the way we discussed and he would leave them outside his place. When I got them home I checked all the specs as I am very conscious of all the specs of my clubs. I have a sheet where I keep track of the length, lie, loft, swing weight and total weight of each club, so I know when I have work done on them I know where my specs are for each club prior to anyone starting any work on them. When I received them back from Scott both the 7 and 9 iron measured a 1/4 inch shorter than what they were prior to me dropping them off and I noticed an extra 2 inches of lead tape that he added that was not on there when I gave him the clubs. I had the lead tape exactly how I wanted the weight to be. I reached back out to him within the hour letting him know there was a "small problem" (my exact message to him with a picture included) my clubs were a 1/4 inch shorter than what they were before and there was additional lead tape on the club that was not there before. He said he had to add the additional lead tape to get the swing weight to D2 and he put the clubs back together where the shaft sits at the bottom of the bore. I understand the building practices of where the club needs to be at the bottom bore but in my case my clubs should have been set back exactly where they were when I gave them to him originally. I told him I would like to bring them back for him to adjust them, and I would pay him the $60 to do both of the clubs since he quoted me $30 to do a shaft pull and head install per club. I continued to ask him when I could drop them off but had not heard anything back from him. The next morning he sends me a message stating "when someone dictates price for certain services that does not sit well and I do not work with that individual" then ends with thank you for your time. I made the price statement because I wanted him to know that I was not looking for any free work, that I was willing to pay him his quoted price of $30 times 2 clubs for a total of $60. I was offering him to pay for the mistake he made so I can get my clubs put back to how they were when he received them. Now he has been ignoring me and I still have 2 clubs 1/4 inch shorter than the rest of my set.
