Very fun bar in a part of town with very few of those. While they make their own mead, they also have a very respectable, curated selection of beers. I had an IPA hopped with "Anchovy" hops that was incredible. The meads, I thought they were OK. The flavors are innovative, the colors are beautiful, but I found them all to be WAY too sweet for me. I asked for the driest one they had and it still was pretty cloying for my tastes. If you like sweet stuff though, you'll love this place! Adult liquid candies! read more

Cute little Meadery with a nice selection and great service! Mead is wine made from honey, and this meadery brews some of their own meads. They have many fruity (and delicious) meads with ABVs between 8-15% which make for lovely sipping. Pro tip - eat a good meal before or bring food in, as you'll want something in your belly to take in all the deliciousness. We'll be back! read more

Pye Road Meadworks is a welcomed addition to the Tampa Bay Craft Beverage scene that the breweries dominate. Mead has always been a sub-culture compared to the craft beer scene, but Pye Road represents an increase in the interest that the magical elixir has presented in the last couple of years. Like a breath of fresh air after being in a room full of candles and incense, this meadery has a bright and clean space for a taproom with an excellent and consistent array of in-house produced meads. We ordered two flights of six still and session meads, respectively, enjoying both with relish and delight. The session meads were my favorite out of the two flights in comparison. Not only because they were a lower ABV, but also the flavors burst more on the palate. I would have jumped on bringing a few crawlers backs to South Florida if they had offered some to go on that particular day. We still picked up two bottles of varieties from their still meads that were also delicious. The location of Pye Road is in Odessa, north of the metropolitan Tampa area, in a non-assuming strip mall that is not far driving-wise if you're staying in the latter. From Tampa Height, the drive is about 20 to 25 minutes, depending on traffic. Parking is easy as there are enough spots available to park your car. Now, when we visit the Tampa area, we have two meaderies to visit. Pye Road makes great meads that will have you returning repeatedly. read more

This is my first time here, and I am absolutely in love with this little gem! My bestie and I decided to check out this place, and we were not disappointed. The wine flights were amazing, and the service was incredibly friendly, as if we were part of their own family. Not to mention, the place itself is clean and has a warm and inviting atmosphere. So we met Matt and Deb today at the Brewers Ball and git ti sample some of their award winning Meads. Let me just say out of over 300 brews that were at this event theirs was the best In show in my opinion. I also was very glad to hear that they are very close to my house. Cannot recommend this cute small meadery enough! We sat at the bar which is small and cozy and got a couple of flights to try everything. Our faves were the session meads, they're so good! They have so many fun and creative flavors and a couple regular meads too that are more wine like but sweet. The owners are so friendly and fun to chat with and we were talking to some of the regulars too. They don't have food but you can order from places nearby. read more

I randomly found Pye Road Meadworks while waiting for my girfriend for a place nextdoor. I'm extremely happy I decided to stop in and have a drink. I was greeted by Stephany (hope I spelled correctly) as well as their other customers. I already started liking the warm, friendly vibe. Love the mead flavors they created. Great atmosphere and setup. Biggest get - the price point is great. They also provide you with 1 oz servings which is great for the higher ABV meads. Their "still" or "traditional" meads are perfectly balanced and their session meads are perfect for the pool. Can't wait for their canning process to go live to take some home. Matt and Deb are great hosts and clearly very well knowledges in their mead making process. People will realize this is outside of Tampa but it is a very short drive or uber to try out some great meads. If you are in the Tampa/St Pete area go cause you won't have better mead in the area. Unless you like getting ripped off from competitors in the market for $15-20 pours. Pye Road pricing is approx $4 for 1 oz and 8 for 3 oz unless it's a session mead. read more

If you've never heard or tried mead this is a totally awesome place to go to. I've never been to a place that specializes in making mead. I don't think there a lot of them around so this is one of the few. IMAO mead is a cross between a beer and a mulled wine. The ABV's are usually pretty high to my understand for a sit down drink so be ready for this because it really sneaks up on you. I've seen some session meads as low as 5% ABV and as high as 20%. Everything here is really tasty and full bodied. Unlike other drinks that claim blueberry this and honey raspberry that! With this place you can actually taste the ingredients that go into making the mead. At the time I went the bartenders where the makers of the mead so they are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about there stuff. Their hours are a little weird right now so you might want to call ahead to make sure they are open. I thinks it's a Fri, Sat, Sunday thing for now. All in all this is an awesome place to check out and totally worth a try if you're new to it! read more

Genuinely one of the best places in tampa and a go to for me. Mead became my favorite spirit once I tried the stuff Matt and Deb were making. If you enjoy ciders or sweet wines you are sure to love this place. They have an incredible variety of drinks in their fridge as well. The best part is the service is the best you could get. While vacationing in the area in 2019 we met the owners of the yet to be officially named Pye Road Meadworks. We followed along on their adventures via social media and finally caught up with them at their retail location. We enjoyed talking with Matt and Debbie and really enjoyed their meads. I had a flight of the session meads and still can't decide if the peach or pineapple whip was my favorite. I finished my sampling with the I Like to Party mead and even got a bottle to go. They also have a couple beers on draft and some in their cooler for the non-meadheads. Glad we could visit from Ohio again and taste their masterpieces. Yum! read more

This small brewery has an a amazing and friendly atmosphere. The staff, especially Stephany, was so welcoming and very educational for my first experience with mead tasting. The meads were absolutely stunning and it was an experience that I won't forget. My absolute favorites were the "Irrational" and "Emeralds At Dusk". I recommend this little brewery to anyone wanting to have an intimate and fun experience with mead. I will definitely be back to try more flights of the other meads I wasn't able to try this visit and can't wait to see what else the Pye Road team come out with! read more
