Last night I had the pleasure of visiting Preez Distillery, and I was honestly blown away. The Owner, Ramon, was with us every step of the way, walking us through the Distillery on his guided tour and our group even got a chance to start a batch of vodka! His knowledge is incredible and his commitment to quality is unreal! The tasting room was such a great time, comfortable space, plenty of seating, and music the entire time. Our bartender, Ashley was amazing and created a craft cocktail menu for the group to showcase Preez products, and every drink we had was phenomenal -- Preez Vanilla and Blueberry are my favorites! I would for sure recommend Preez products, and if you are in the area, stopping by and experiencing the tasting room!

I got to enjoy a tour and taste the vodka made here. I want to just say total game changer. The owners are veterans who served over 20 years. The tour group I was with was fun and also I can say we learned so much about the process of how Vodka is made. The vodka taste good too. It's smooth and with good flavor options. The environment depends on who you are on to our with but either way the owners are great people.

I never thought I would say that I had an exciting day in Largo, but here we are! It's always an adventure with my BFF. After having coffee at a local cafe (review later), we went to Preez Distillery and Tasting Room. The owner, Ramon, started us with the plain distilled vodka, then to the flavored, then to the liquers. He said if you do it the other way, the plain will not taste good. I get it... palate disrupted and all. So, small disclaimer.... I'm a vodka girl. Most of the distilleries I've been to were whiskey or moonshine so this was exciting for me!! And this vodka was, by far, the SMOOTHEST I'd ever had. It went down like water. No chemical taste like some of the big brands. We skipped the vanilla. The blueberry I could just sit and drink straight. He said it's made to be mixed but I don't even think it needs to be! The three liqueurs (apricot, strawberry, and pumpkin) were AMAZING! they really showcased the ingredient it was named after. The apricot has a slight tartness and is unmistakably apricot. The strawberry was my favorite of the three. The pumpkin was almost vegetal and was VERY pumpkin forward! I had some last night in front of the TV Fantastic experience! I'll be going again when the new season's apricot batch is finished some time in September. Also thinking of getting a small group to go for a tasting and distillery tour GNO, maybe with an outdoor dinner afterwards somewhere around there or Clearwater? If you're interested, give me a shout!

Four of us took a tour of Kozuba and Son's Distillery on a Friday afternoon recently. According to…read moretheir website, the Only thing that excites them more than their spirits, is the opportunity to share them. "Handcrafted" isn't just a label to them, it's what they do. Devon, our guide, explained that every part of the process is guided by their hands. They begin with hand-selected grain, then hand-mix and hand-mash the grain to get the perfect blend before distillation begins. We were warmly greeted by Devon, and we were each offered a taste of Kozuba Lemon Flavored Vodka which was very fresh tasting. Definitely there was no chemical aftertaste as I often find in the commercially flavored vodkas. We walked into the distillery and learned that this dream started in 2005 in Poland. Zbigniew "Papa" Kozuba, a biochemist and businessman, retired and moved to the countryside. While there, Papa began tinkering with cordials, continuing a tradition of infused spirits that many Polish families honored. His sons joined him and Papa and his sons turned the hobby into a business. After a few years producing a successful line of cordials, they ordered a hybrid copper still and shortly thereafter, they were distilling vodkas. Later on, the first Polish single malt whiskeys and other varieties of the brown spirit evolved. The family decided to move the business to Florida's Grand Central District - an area thirsty for small-batch, local spirits. They have two handmade German hybrid copper stills which they brought to the U.S., one is for vodkas and the other is used for whiskey. I recommend that everyone take a tour to learn for yourself about the processes. We headed back to the tasting room and experienced several delicious types of vodkas, whiskeys, Sunshine State Agave and cordials, etc. The BarBox Negroni and the Cranberry & Juniper Flavored Vodka were my favorite that day. I'm looking forward to the bourbon being ready soon too. We stopped in their on-site store and did not leave empty-handed.

I had stayed in the car for a few minutes before joining John inside and the Christina had ALL of them lined up- there were so many bottles. So.... the only time I left buzzed from samples. Gin, Rum, Whiskey, Vodka, Tequila, Liquors. They had damn near everything here. Plus craft cocktails and a couple cocktails on tap. I mean- wow. Favs: Pandemic at the disco- I think the smoothest Vodka I have EVER had and the name and bottle are was hilariously fun Demeter- a citrus-botanical gin which I loved at first sip and that was before I knew it was named after a Greek Goddess Smoked- They have 2 flavors of smoked Rum, both Mesquite and Hickory- I liked the mesquite better and this was John's favorite Sprit of the Harvest- Classic Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey, another very smooth liquor- Rye whiskey can sometimes be a little harsh- but not this one Those are the ones we bought. Special mention: Underworld- Agave Spirit (Tequila)- I don't care for Tequila, the only time I enjoyed samples was in Mexico and now this place. It was delicious Lost Cause- holy hell. That's all I am going to say about that Did I mention- I didn't even try them all!?!?! They make some IPA blend Whiskeys and collaborate with local breweries. Their stills were inspiring- I can't remember how tall their big ole still was, but it was awesome!
