This guy messed me up by prescribing medications I may not have even needed…read more He diagnosed a condition without ever examining me, prescribed a powerful medication which landed me in the hospital for 4 days, trying to get a severe allergic reaction under control, then 2 weeks later when I was sick from the allergic reaction diagnosed me with Omnicron and prescribed, in his word, "this is what the government is recommending" which was a medication for depression. I refused to take it, and went for a PCR covid test the following day. I tested NEGATIVE, which supported a test given to me two times at the hospital emergency room and again when I was admitted. I always have a short wait to get into the office first for vitals and then to report updates of any new symptoms or allergies to the office clinician. Dr Fernando is always prompt to see me from there. I very much enjoy the Dr's approach to my appointment from the first "how do you feel today? What brings you in?" to the thorough exam and medical recommendations. The Dr is mild-mannered and somewhat hard to read during the exam as I see him concentrating on processing his findings. He is always courteous and fills me in on what he would like for me to do to better help cope with my painful afflictions, be it physical activity, diet, or medication management.. Dr Fernando's staff is pleasant and caring. They always make me feel like an important part of their day. The only negative issue that I have with my experiences is that the exterior and interior of the facility is extremely dated and in dire need of updating to bring itself out of the 1980's. The interior especially could use a complete overhaul to bring it up to what a medical facility should look and feel like. It has always been the only medical office that I have ever been to in the Fort Myers area, and there have been many, many visits over the 40 years I have lived here, that doesn't feel like a medical facility. It feels much more like an old tattered aged building that could improve itself only by tearing it down and starting all over from the ground up. The good news is that the facility appears clean and void of any serious germs. As an added comment today, 9.1.16, Dr Fernando will be retiring from practice in late September 2016. Danielle is the one who treated me, not Dr. Hauser. She is sweet and the staff members were all nice enough. It was a pleasant trip going to Fort Myers also. I just think getting multiple injections is riskier, more painful, more expensive than the alternatives I mentioned. I'm not a doctor or medical professional so do your own research, but IMHO I'd try the cheaper, less evasive alternatives above before trying Prolotherapy. Prolotherapy, PRP, and stem cell injections might help, but are painful, expensive, and I believe there is a risk of damaging your ligaments, creating ossification when doing them. Sorry Danielle and Dr. Hauser. I do wish you the best, but I'm more interested in saving patients money and risk, before fattening up your wallets. I kinda felt instead of telling me they were unsure how to help me they felt given the cost I'd incurred they had to tell me something? Unfortunately I feel that I was further harmed by the aggressive nature of the diagnostic testing here (in one procedure they injected me and hit an artery, then continued to test the joint) and left feeling I'd been harmed more than helped by them.

I have a lower back issue that is being seen by an orthopedic surgeon and cannot be fixed at this time due to my weight. I was sent to Dr Preudhomme because my surgeon didn't want to manage my pain, but wanted to perform surgery when my weight was lower only. My surgeon thought I should go to a pain management specialist for now while I try to work on my weight. Boy was he wrong! Dr. Preudhomme hardly let's me get a word in edge wise because he is rude and interrupts the patient consistently. That's not just bad bedside manner, the guy is just rude. What's worse, he will not give me any pain medication even though I told him I don't have any and that my doctor doesn't want to keep giving me prescriptions to manage my pain. He didn't even want to see me anymore, let alone help me. He said I needed to see my surgeon and not him. I wonder why my surgeon sent me to a pain specialist then??? I was never rude or anything but polite with him and he acts like I am there to ruin his career or something. I like to give doctors the leeway they need to treat their patients in the way they see fit. I'm not difficult. I usually don't even ask for specific medications that work well on me unless I'm asked. I'm open to whatever pain management he wants to perform (whether it be pain medication or not) but I needed something for the pain for the time being, since my doctor sent me to him. I left his office without anything other than disappointment. He refused to do anything for me. I'm not a junkie and I hate taking medications. I'm a good person who is down on my luck due to an accident that wasn't even my fault. But he outright refuses pain treatment even though he's a pain specialist? Really?
